So long as people are rejecting events and claims for the *wrong* reasons the lie system *does not care* because when the disinformation is later debunked - those who "fell for it" are at risk of experiencing a "belief reversal". That is where a person goes from thinking something was fake to firmly believing it was real "because all the reasons to doubt it are BS being peddled by liars".
