  1. Forever Alone
  2. (The airplane is hitting some turbulence, and Chris wakes up)
  3.
  4. CHRIS: Sally are you awake?
  5.
  6. SALLY: Yeah, what’s going on?
  7.
  8. CHRIS: I think the plane hit some sort of storm.
  9.
  10. SALLY: Oh No… I hope we don’t crash.
  11.
  12. CHRIS: Sally don’t think that way, we are going to be… OK.
  13.
  14. SALLY: I can’t help it. I’m afraid of heights.
  15.
  16. CHRIS: Then why are you on an airplane?
  17.
  18. SALLY: I was told this was the only way to get to Tokyo.
  19.
  20. CHRIS: Well yeah, I guess… you could of taken a boat.
  21.
  22. SALLY: Well I didn’t think about it at the time because of my great fear of water.
  23.
  24. CHRIS: You are in a bad situation then, because if this plane crashes then we are going to land in water.
  25.
  26. SALLY: WHAT?! We are over water?
  27.
  28. CHRIS: Well yeah how else would we get to Japan, from America?
  29.
  30. SALLY: I figured we would just go through Europe, and Russia.
  31.
  32. CHRIS: The easier route is to just go west through the Pacific Ocean.
  33.
  34. SALLY: Oh, yeah that does make more sense.
  35.
  36. CHRIS: Just try to get back to sleep. Everything is going to be OK.
  37.
  38. (Chris stands up, and walks towards the audience.)
  39.
  40. CHRIS: Being the great plane attendant that I am, I will put my tray table up, incase of an accident.
  41.
  42. (Chris Sits down, and puts his tray table up. Chris and Sally go back to sleep.)
  43.
  44.
  45. Forever Alone
  46. (Lights Down)
  47.
  48. (Sally walks to front stage)
  49.
  50. SALLY: four hours later… our plane has crashed... Chris, and I are the only survivors. He is still passed out on the shore.
  51.
  52. (Lights Up)
  53.
  54. SALLY: Chris! Wake Up! … Wake Up!
  55.
  56. CHRIS: huh?! Where the hell am I?!
  57.
  58. SALLY: Chris... I don’t know where we are exactly..
  59.
  60. CHRIS: Wait?! Weren’t we on a plane? Oh NO! The Business trip I’m going to be late..
  61.
  62. SALLY: I think we have more important things to worry about, than a silly meeting.
  63.
  64. CHRIS: you don’t understand this is the most important meeting of my life! If I don’t get there in time I’m canned!
  65.
  66. SALLY: Chris we need to be thinking about survival! Haven’t you ever watched that tv show survivor? THIS IS JUST LIKE THAT!
  67.
  68. CHRIS: Well I only watched like the first three episodes when the guy came in and told them where there camp is... WHEN DOES HE COME HELP US?!
  69.
  70. (Chris walks in front of the audience)
  71.
  72. CHRIS: By this time audience you can tell we are getting a little crazy..
  73.
  74. (Chris walks back to Sally)
  75.
  76. SALLY: I’m going to go look for some fresh water.. you look for food.
  77.
  78. (Sally walks to stage left, Chris walks to stage right)
  79.
  80.
  81.
  82.
  83.
  84.
  85. Forever Alone
  86. CHRIS: I can’t believe this my whole career down the drain.
  87.
  88. CHRIS: Why are we here?! Where’s the plane?! So many questions…
  89.
  90. SALLY: water, water, water… where to find it.. I remember from that survival video we watched back in college ted bears said to look for a large source of water, but we can’t drink salt water.
  91.
  92. SALLY: CHRIS IS THERE ANY WAY WE CAN BOIL THIS WATER?!
  93.
  94. CHRIS: WELL IF WE HAD A CONTAINER, AND A WAY TO MAKE A FIRE!
  95.
  96. SALLY: Wait?! Check your pockets do you have any flint and steel?
  97.
  98. CHRIS: It was in my suitcase that was on the airplane.
  99.
  100. SALLY: Well I don’t have, any so we’ll just have to do with out.
  101.
  102. CHRIS: Wait Sally! You are forgetting the basic laws of survival.. You can make torches out of sticks and coal.
  103.
  104. SALLY: Where are we going to find any coal?!
  105.
  106. CHRIS: Use your mind Sally, the best place to get coal is by the water.
  107.
  108. SALLY: Of course the water!
  109.
  110. CHRIS: Just let me punch some trees, so we can get a workbench.
  111.
  112. SALLY: OK Chris! I’ll look for that coal.
  113.
  114. (Chris walks in front of the audience)
  115.
  116. CHRIS: I know what you’re thinking, making torches, punching trees.. ridiculous right?! No folks, here in this performance, anything is possible, there are no physics.
  117.
  118. (Chris walks back, and punches a tree)
  119.
  120.
  121.
  122.
  123.
  124.
  125.
  126. Forever Alone
  127. SALLY: Chris how’s the lumber coming?
  128.
  129. CHRIS: I haven’t gotten anything, and my hand is really sore.
  130.
  131. SALLY: What do you mean your hand is sore? Aren’t you using an axe, or something.
  132.
  133. CHRIS: Well I didn’t exactly think I needed an axe on a business trip!
  134.
  135. SALLY: Can’t you make one?
  136.
  137. CHRIS: With what?! Rocks?!
  138.
  139. SALLY: Well I figured you would come up with something…
  140.
  141. CHRIS: I’m a business man Sally, not some tool man.
  142.
  143. (Chris sits down, Sally walks to front stage.)
  144.
  145. SALLY: I know he’s a business man, but I figured he would have been able to do something! Does he expect me to do everything? If this goes on much longer I’m going to lose it.
  146.
  147. (Sally walks off stage, Lights down.)
  148.
  149. (Lights Up, it’s dark. Chris and Sally are both upright, and asleep under a tree. It’s very cold, and neither one of them were prepared for the harsh weather.)
  150.
  151. (Chris starts shaking wildly, and screams.)
  152.
  153. CHRIS: Oh it was just a dream..
  154.
  155. (Sally wakes up.)
  156.
  157. SALLY: What’s the matter Chris?
  158.
  159. CHRIS: Oh nothing, I was just having a nightmare.
  160.
  161. SALLY: About what?
  162.
  163. CHRIS: I’d rather not go into it.
  164.
  165. SALLY: Well OK, just try to get back to sleep.
  166.
  167. (Lights Down.)
  168. Forever Alone
  169. (Lights Up, Chris is sitting under the tree, still asleep. Sally is Off stage.)
  170.

  172.
  173. SALLY: Chris get up!
  174.
  175. (Chris doesn’t respond)
  176.
  177. SALLY: Wake up! Please!
  178.
  179. (Chris opens his eyes)
  180.
  181. CHRIS: hmm? What is it Sally.
  182.
  183. SALLY: Well I woke up early, and decided to go for a walk. This island is a lot larger than I originally thought.
  184.
  185. (Sally points towards the audience.)
  186.
  187. SALLY: I started off in that direction, and was gone for quite a few hours.
  188.
  189. CHRIS: How did you get back?
  190.
  191. SALLY: I just started walking in the direction that I came from.
  192.
  193. CHRIS: yeah, makes sense. Did you find anything interesting?
  194.
  195. SALLY: I found a stream, and I think the water is fine.
  196.
  197. CHRIS: Awesome, let’s go back to that stream.
  198.
  199. SALLY: Sounds Great!
  200.
  201. (Chris, and Sally walk off stage right. Lights Down.)
  202.
  203. (Lights Up, Chris and Sally are walking along the shore.)
  204.
  205. SALLY: So Chris what exactly do you do?
  206.
  207. CHRIS: Well I work for a TV Station. I’m the head news reporter, that’s the whole reason I was going to Tokyo anyway.
  208.
  209. SALLY: So is there anything interesting you do at work?
  210.
  211. CHRIS: Well it’s not the most interesting job but, I like it.
  212.
  213. Forever Alone
  214. SALLY: Well as long as you like it I guess that’s all the matters.
  215.
  216. CHRIS: So what do you do?
  217.
  218. SALLY: Oh I’m a college student, I was going to study abroad at Tokyo.
  219.
  220. CHRIS: Sounds interesting, what are you majoring in?
  221.
  222. SALLY: I’m planning on teaching Japanese as a foreign language.
  223.
  224. CHRIS: That’s nice, so how long till we get to that stream?
  225.
  226. SALLY: Shouldn’t be too long.
  227.
  228. CHRIS: OK.
  229.
  230. (Chris, and Sally walk off stage right. Lights Go Down.)
  231.
  232. (Lights Up. Chris, and Sally are approaching the stream.)
  233.
  234. SALLY: There it is Chris! I see it!
  235.
  236. CHRIS: I don’t see anything.
  237.
  238. SALLY: Look over there.
  239.
  240. (Sally Points Stage Right.)
  241.
  242. CHRIS: Oh, I see it. You were right.
  243.
  244. SALLY: Yeah.
  245.
  246. (Chris runs stage right, and drinks water from stream.)
  247.
  248. CHRIS: It taste amazing!
  249.
  250. (Sally Joins Chris, Drinking water from stream.)
  251.
  252. (Chris, and Sally Stand up.)
  253.
  254. SALLY: Well we really should work on some sort of shelter.
  255.
  256. CHRIS: The most I could think of is just some branches leaned against a tree.
  257.
  258. Forever Alone
  259. SALLY: Well that should do.
  260.
  261. (Lights Down.)
  262.
  263. (Lights Up. Chris is standing next to the new shelter.)
  264.
  265. CHRIS: Sally! It’s done.
  266.
  267. (Sally walks in from stage left.)
  268.
  269. SALLY: Oh it looks great Chris.
  270.
  271. CHRIS: Thanks.
  272.
  273. (Sally looks up, then back down.)
  274.
  275. SALLY: Well let’s call it a night, it’s getting dark.
  276.
  277. CHRIS: Agreed.
  278.
  279. (Chris, and Sally Sit down in the shelter.)
  280.
  281. (Lights Down.)
  282.
  283. (Lights Up.)
  284.
  285. (Chris is sitting next to the stream, watching as the water flows. Sally is trying to start a fire)
  286.
  287. CHRIS: I wonder if we’ll ever get out of here.
  288.
  289. SALLY: Don’t know, but if we get a fire going there’s a chance someone could spot us.
  290.
  291. CHRIS: Have you ever made a fire before?
  292.
  293. SALLY: Well no, but I saw it on a tv show once.
  294.
  295. (Chris stands up and walks to Sally.)
  296.
  297. CHRIS: Let me try I was in boy scouts.
  298.
  299. SALLY: OK have at it.
  300.
  301. (Sally stands up, and Chris takes her place.)
  302.
  303. Forever Alone
  304. CHRIS: This was always the hardest part at camp. There’s a trick to it, I just don’t know if I can still do it.
  305.
  306. (Chris starts attempting to start a fire.)
  307.
  308. SALLY: Well I hope you have better luck than I did.
  309.
  310. SALLY: I’m going to search for some berries or something in the woods.
  311.
  312. CHRIS: OK, but be careful and if you do find something, come back here and get me.
  313.
  314. SALLY: Will do.
  315.
  316. (Sally walks off stage right.)
  317.
  318. (Lights Down.)
  319.
  320. (Lights Up.)
  321.
  322. (Sally is in the forest looking for some food for Chris, and herself.)
  323.
  324. SALLY: I’ve never actually picked berries before. I wonder if there’s anything special you have to do?
  325.
  326. (Sally looks around in all directions.)
  327.
  328. SALLY: I don’t see anything, but trees.
  329.
  330. SALLY: Wait a second… what is that?
  331.
  332. (Sally looks towards stage right, and walks off stage right.)

  361. (Lights Up. Chris is back at the shelter. It’s night.)
  362.
  363. CHRIS: This is terrible. It’s already dark out, and Sally is nowhere to be found.
  364.
  365. (Strange noises from the woods.)
  366.
  367. CHRIS: These noises are going to drive me crazy… If I’m not already.
  368.
  369. CHRIS: I better try to get some rest, and go look for her first thing tomorrow.
  370.
  371. (Chris lays down, lights down.)
  372.

  376.
  377. (Chris walks to the stream, and washes his face.)
  378.
  379. CHRIS: I shouldn’t of let her go off by her -self.
  380.
  381. CHRIS: I should of went with her.
  382.
  383. CHRIS: There’s no time to waste, I’ve got to go look for her now.
