Pastebin Monday 8/1/2016

I haven't been streaming much because during half of my streams my computer blue screens and that really demotivates me. I ordered a new network card so I don't have to use the ethernet port on my motherboard, so we'll see if that helps. I won't stream much until that arrives some time this week.

That being said, this Saturday is when I will be doing the #12HourChallenge; I will be learning Bomberman 64 any%. This stream will be the test for my new network card. If all goes well, I have additional plans. If my computer still crashes and burns, I don't know. I'm really out of ideas at this point.

Assuming everything goes fine---I'm thinking about doing a marathon the week of August 8. 10+ hour stream, 5 days in a row. I don't know what exactly I'll be playing during this marathon, but really anything I've done on my channel before is on the table (excluding credits warp, don't get excited sorry). I do know that I want to do a Mario Kart mini-marathon that I believe some other people have shown interest in as well. This includes getting gold trophies on all cups on all 8 main Mario Kart games. The time estimate for this is about 10 hours, so if you are interested in this, let me know. I'll be using this marathon to raise money for attending a GDQ event (see below).

I only have a few speed goals at the moment; I don't like grinding SMW much, so now that I have a really good 96 exit time, I'm very demotivated to go for PB attempts much anymore. I would like to get sub 1-hour in SM64 70 star, but that is going to require a lot of practice, since I am very inconsistent at that game at the moment. My other main goal is to get Elite times or better in all the non-shortcut time trials in MK64 http://dotsarecool.com/mk64/. I'm almost there, just 6 more to go at the time of writing this.

Moving onwards... classes start August 23. I set up my schedule so I should still be able to stream every once in a while at least. This semester is going to be a piece of cake for me since I'm only taking prerequisites to get into another major. However, what I'm worried about is a month later. The lease for PJ and my apartment ends on September 30. PJ is going to live somewhere else so he is closer to the school he is transferring to. I can't pay for an apartment just for myself, so I am moving back to live with my parents, and commute to school just like a did for a year and a half. So I probably won't be able to stream for those couple of weeks when I'm moving. I'm thinking of setting up my stream stuff in the basement instead of my room this time, which may be better or worse. (At least I won't feel bad yelling at 3am anymore.)

So, AGDQ. AGDQ2017 looks like a no go. Nothing is really stopping me completely, but it is at a very inconvenient time. The first week of classes for that semester start that week, so I'd have to miss those days, which is totally doable but just a hassle. If I go to a GDQ, I'd like to go to the whole event to make worth of the travel expense. I'm also seeing that a lot of people I'd like to see at AGDQ are also not going this year, I might just save myself the trouble and go next time. I also don't know if I'll be able to raise enough money before January to go this year. SGDQ2017 is also looking like a no go just because it is so far away. However, I think AGDQ2018 is looking pretty good, as long as they don't schedule it on the first week of my classes again. So I think I'll be raising money to go to AGDQ2018. That gives me a year and a half to get enough money, which is completely reasonable, especially if I get a summer job. If I somehow raise enough quick enough to get to AGDQ2017 I'll definitely consider it. I think I'm going to submit to AGDQ2017 just in case this happens.
