Ch 4: Part 0.7: Return to Riddleport: Session 55.7

[16:10] <Kilarra> After selling off the assorted treasures and magical items reclaimed from the drow, ALuthyra returned to the House of the Silken Veil, where Kilarra had been filling Shorafa in on her adventures while getting a massage. However, Aluthyra had picked up a shadow on the way in, who had been very interested in the party's lucre.
[16:11] <Kilarra> Said shadow was an almost literally fiery woman named Kahree, an Ifrit with a vested interest in wealth and distaste for whips and chains. She gave away her position and was caught eavesdropping on conversations that were supposed to be secret. Rather than simply killing her however, Kilarra (somewhat softened by her time with Aluthyra) decided to let Eviana make the call on what to do with her.
[16:11] Kilarra snuggles up against Aluthyra after a very fulfilling nightshowing off some of her skills.
[16:11] <Kilarra> Kjell, having spent the night at the Gold Goblin, heads to the Veil to recieve his share of Aluthyra's sales. Both so he could do some of his own shopping, and so that he could treat Samaritha to a nice day out. He had been quite amused to see their former benefactors, Daroskt and Katarina, had gravitated towards each other whilst running their business, becoming an item.
[16:11] Aluthyra is pressed closely with Kilarra, both exhausted and very satisfied from last night, as Kilarra's experience seems to give her quite a bit of extra endurance. She remains sleeping for the moment, happy for a few extra hours, if possible.
[16:11] Kjell enters the Veil and begins asking around for Kilarra or Aluthyra. When he's told they were in private together, he decides to simply sit and wait, taking the opportunity to study his spellbook for the day, as well as Nolveniss'.
[16:11] <Aluthyra> Kahree slept rather fitfully, debating with herself throughout the night whether or not to run away from the veil, although, she had enjoyed her company. The woman sighs, sitting up, placing a finger over her eversmoking bottle's stopper. "This'll work," she assures herself, hoping she doesn't need to run. Not again.
[16:12] Aluthyra eventually yawns, waking, her practiced internal schedule not allowing much extra sleep. She rolls to look to Kilarra, smiling, and greets her with a sleepy, "Good morning..."
[16:12] Kilarra wakes up with a smirk. "Morning." she kisses Aluthyra's chest, then sits up. "So, what's the plan for today? Shopping, or more demonstrations of my decades of brothel experience?"
[16:12] <Aluthyra> Kahree's companion wakes up with a yawn and nods to her wordlessly before departing from the room.
[16:15] <Aluthyra> Kahree waves off her companion, then begins to dress, placing her bottle back onto her belt. She keeps her hand close to it, just in case that she-devil decided to drop in for a morning visit with her whip, and heads out of her room. She looks around as she exits, checking for any threats...
[16:15] * Aluthyra chuckles. "As much as I would like to... shopping, I believe. Then... are we planning on leaving for the Crying Leaf today, or tomorrow?"
[16:18] * Kilarra smiles, "Tomorrow morning I think, that way we should arrive in the evening of the day that shipment was supposed to arrive. Then we can sleep and be properly prepared for whatever that next mission was."
[16:21] * Aluthyra nods. "Of course. I am sure Kjell will be arriving soon, if not already. Perhaps we should get ready?"
[16:22] * Kilarra chuckles, "Well, you can go out and find him if you like. However, you are more than welcome to stay and watch this morning." She begins moving to sit up and spreading her legs.
[16:22] <Aluthyra> Kahree raises an eyebrow upon seeing a large man, Kjell, studying. Curious what exactly it is, she walks over, peeking over his side to read the book.
[16:23] <@Kilarra> Kjell is in the process of disciphering one of Nolveniss' spells for his own usage, copying the arcane writings from the drow's tome into his own.
[16:23] * Aluthyra blushes, biting her lip. After several moments, she nods, deciding to stay for Kilarra's prep time.
[16:24] * Kilarra makes sure Aluthyra gets a good show. She also makes sure the aasimar can see what she's doing quite clearly, in case she wants to pick up a few tidbits for her own benefit.
[16:26] <Aluthyra> Kahree raises an eyebrow. "Wasn't expecting a lug like you to be reading anything more advanced than picture books." She chuckles, still looking over the tome. She frowns after a moment, the writings confusing and unfamiliar to her.
[16:27] * Kjell looks up to spot Kahree, "Well, I suppose at a glance my warrior's attire is more obvious than my magical prowess, but i consider myself adept at both. Might I ask who you are and what you would like?"
[16:32] <Aluthyra> Kahree grins. "Kahree is my name. And nothing in particular. Just bored." Her grin falters slightly. "Just waiting on some people now."
[16:33] <@Kilarra> Kjell tilts his head, "Fancy that. I am awaiting my companions as well." He motions for her to take a seat nearby.
[16:36] <Aluthyra> Kahree sits next to him, glancing at the tome. "So, what is that anyway?"
[16:37] <@Kilarra> Kjell notes to Kahree, "A Spellbook taken from a wizard my companions and I defeated. I was studying it to see if there was anything I could add to my own repertoire." He looks her over, "Interesting. Never actually seen an ifrit in person, if you do't mind me remarking."
[16:41] <Aluthyra> Kahree shrugs. "Not all that common in these parts, I guess. And no, I don't mind." She frowns. "Your companions... who are they?"
[16:42] * Kjell looks to Kahree, "Two women, one a tiefling, the other, amusingly, an aasimar." He chuckles, "A rather odd couple they make, but they seem to genuinely care for each other."
[16:43] * Kilarra probably tries to coax Aluthyra into a little bit of her fun while she's getting ready. Venerating a Goddess of Lust didn't require her to do so entirely on her lonesome.
[16:44] <Aluthyra> Kahree's frown remains. "I see." She leans her head back against the wall. She shakes her head. "So, I told you my name, what's yours?"
[16:45] <@Kilarra> Kjell smiles, "Kjell Cailean." He extends a hand to shake, "Pleased to make your acquaintance."
[16:47] * Aluthyra joins Kilarra in her fun, though she does so without exerting herself too much. She's pretty tired from last night.
[16:48] <Aluthyra> Kahree stretches out her hand, shaking Kjell's. She quirks her head. "Cailean? As in Cayden?"
[16:49] * Kilarra elects to give Aluthyra pointers on doing it herself then instead.
[16:50] <@Kilarra> Kjell nods, "The very same. I was raised in an orphanage founded by his church, and took his name upon setting out on my own into the world. Not everyone does it, but I'm certainly not the first."
[16:52] <Aluthyra> Kahree nods. "Huh. Not many people that I've met have done the same..." She frowns, mumbling, "Although most people I met did not have proper names, or the will to change that."
[16:54] <@Kilarra> Kjell raises an eyebrow, "Begging your pardon?"
[16:56] <Aluthyra> Kahree clears her throat. "N-Nothing." She assures him, "Nothing important."
[16:56] <@Kilarra> Kjell doesn't want to press someone he's only just met on personal matters. "So then, who are you waiting for?"
[16:58] <Aluthyra> Kahree sighs. Might as well not make her situation worse through more lies. "The same pair that you are."
[16:59] <@Kilarra> Kjell blinks, "Oh? How came you by them?"
[17:01] <Aluthyra> Kahree casually waves her hand and rolls her eyes. "Oh nothing too important," She shrugs. "just tried to lift their platinum coins once they weren't looking." She chuckles. "It did not go exactly as planned, though... It seems I may have an opportunity for coin, so I have not yet escaped."
[17:02] <@Kilarra> Kjell doesn't look too impressed. "You're lucky Kilarra simply didn't kill you. She does serve a Goddess of Revenge."
[17:03] * Kilarra finally finishes up her prep, hold Aluthyra close a bit longer before getting up to get dressed. She looks to ALuthyra, "If you want to bathe quickly, just silp the bath attendant a couple silver and tell her I said it was alright."
[17:07] * Aluthyra nods, quickly slipping on one of her robes, and heads out of the room. She frowns as she sees Kahree, then nods to Kjell. "I will just be a moment. Kilarra will be out soon."
[17:08] * Aluthyra makes her way to the bath. She gives the attendant a few silver. "Kilarra said you would not appose?"
[17:10] <Aluthyra> Kahree rolls her eyes. "Yeah, like she could if she wanted to."
[17:10] * Kilarra gets dressed and dons her armour and robes. Before leaving the room, she pulls a small box out from under her bed and pulls out the flute she took from the attic whisperer. She slips it into the box alongside a knight figurine, a cloth doll, a small blanket, and a kazoo.
[17:11] <@Kilarra> The bath attendant nods, "Yes," taking the silver, "just no sex in the bathhouse and don't take more than fifteen minutes."
[17:12] * Aluthyra nods, ignoring the comment about sex, and begins to clean herself along with her robe.
[17:13] <@Kilarra> Kjell shrugs, "I am not aware of your particular prowesses, but if Kilarra has deemed your accompanyment with us for the time being sufficient penalty for your transgressions, then I will abide by her."
[17:13] * Kilarra joins Kahree and Kjell in the lobby, "I see you've met our new 'friend'," she deadpans.
[17:17] <Aluthyra> Kahree sneers at Kilarra. "Yeah, he has."
[17:19] <@Kilarra> Kjell holds a hand up between them, "Before the tow of you go any further, can I hear your side of things Kilarra?"
[17:21] * Kilarra nods, "I don't know when exactly she showed up, but I'd guess she spotted Aluthyra at the market and was waiting to catch her along so as to snatch up what she could. She ended up here and we caught her eavesdropping on our conversation. So, since she's in on something that was supposed to be a secert, I figured we should let Eviana make the call on what to do with her."
[17:25] * Kilarra looks to Kahree, "Did I miss anything?"
[17:26] <Aluthyra> Kahree shrugs. "Eh. Not really."
[17:28] <@Kilarra> Kjell nods, then looks to Kahree, "Eavesdropping aside, wouldn't it have been more pertinant to find out the source of our lucratoveness, then try to seek it out for yourself?"
[17:31] <Aluthyra> Kahree sighs. "Yes, but all of that platinum... is quite tantalizing. As she said though... I would like to meet this 'Eviana'.'
[17:33] <@Kilarra> KJell looks Kahree over, "I take it you are accustomed to operating in the shadows then?"
[17:33] <Aluthyra> Kahree nods. "Yes, I am."
[17:36] <Aluthyra> She notes, "I did list a range of talents to Kilarra yesterday as well."
[17:37] * Kilarra nods, "Backstabbing and pocketpicking I believe."
[17:44] <Aluthyra> Kahree nods. "Yes, there are others... If you are interested, Kjell."
[17:45] <@Kilarra> Kjell asks, "How about hazard detection and disarming? We recently lost the companionship of a friend who was skilled are removing such hidden obstacles."
[17:46] <Aluthyra> The ifrit smiles. "I can do that too!" She smirks at Kilarra. "Seems I might just get in on this action."
[17:49] * Kilarra frowns, "I never said you wouldn't I just wanted it to be clear that you're here to make up for trying to rob us, not because we want you to be."
[17:49] <@Kilarra> Kjell looks to Kahree, "I suppose that depends, but for the moment, we do have at least some need of someone with your skills. However, I would advise you to tread carefully at this point."
[17:51] <Aluthyra> Kahree huffs. "Yeah, yeah... Nothing I'm not used to."
[17:53] <@Kilarra> Kjell nods, "Then welcome to our little group. Hopefully whatever unpleasantness I was not privy to can be forgiven eventually. Hold grudges isn't really good for you."
[17:53] * Kilarra grumbles
[17:54] * Aluthyra returns a moment later, walking towards Kilarra in her clean robe. She glances at Kjell. "Morning. If you have already met the thief, then you've heard everything?"
[17:56] <@Kilarra> Kjell nods, "I have. In the interest, however, of perhaps improving her station above that of a common thief, perhaps we can postpone any further hostility until such a time, if any, that she actively hinders us."
[17:57] * Kilarra leans into Aluthyra and takes a whiff of her fresh, clean, and sweet smell, smiling.
[17:59] * Aluthyra nods. "I will try, then. If she does the same."
[18:00] <Aluthyra> Kahree rolls her eyes, nodding. "Yeah, yeah. Whatever..."
[18:01] <@Kilarra> Kjell closes the spell books, his transcribing finished. "Alright then. Now, if you would kindly impart upon me my share of that platinum, I would like to make a few purchases before taking Miss Beldusk out for the day."
[18:03] * Kilarra nods, "Yeah, then we got some shopping to take care of ourselves." She looks to Kahree, "You will be joining us, yes?"
[18:04] * Aluthyra nods, fetching the platinum for Kjell.
[18:04] <@Kilarra> Kjell smiles and then heads out to take care of his shopping and then date.
[18:05] <Aluthyra> Kahree frowns. "I would, but I don't have much gold, only a few pieces really." She shrugs. "I think I'll just stay around here..."
[18:05] * Kilarra nods to Kahree, "Fine by me, but if you try to bail on us, keep in mind that Shorafa knows everything that goes on in this city. Everything." She then slips her tail around Aluthyra to take her out shopping.
[18:06] * Aluthyra chuckles, following her out.
[18:06] <Aluthyra> Kahree makes a raspberry at Kilarra as she leaves.
[18:07] * Kilarra makes a rude gesture with her tail
[18:08] <@Kilarra> Kjell takes care of his shopping, then takes Samaritha out for a full day. A bit of window shopping, some magical discussion, meals, and a boat ride down the river. All in all a rather full day of enjoyable activities.
[18:10] * Aluthyra follows Kilarra around, purchasing a few magical items. She tries her hand at flirting as well, buying Kilarra a bouquet of flowers.
[18:10] * Kilarra goes out shopping with Aluthyra! She also probably grabs some food for them while they're out, before leading Aluthyra back to the Veil. She giggles at the flowers a bit, thinking it sweet, and noting to place them within her room. "I want to show you something," she notes on the return trip. She adds after a moment, "Something not involving parts of my anatomy."
[18:12] * Aluthyra raises an eyebrow. "Sure. What is it you wish to show?"
[18:13] * Kilarra doesn't say anything, but leads Aluthyra back to her room. She pulls the box out from under her bed and opens it for Aluthyra to see the contents.
[18:14] * Aluthyra quirks her head over the lip of the box. She blinks, seeing the flute. "These are..."
[18:15] * Kilarra nods, "One from each of them." She gestures to the Knight figurine and the doll. "These two belonged to my playmates when I was still under my mother."
[18:16] * Aluthyra nods sadly. "I see... so they... they were close to you? Do you know what became of them?"
[18:18] * Kilarra nods, "Turned by the cleric who belonged to the group that vanquished my parents and their plans of the time. I know at this point they're better off that way, but back when I was sitll that young I was pretty mad at him for 'killing' my friends. However, since he had saved my life, I couldn't really stay mad."
[18:20] * Aluthyra sighs. "I cannot even imagine what you have been through. I am truly sorry..."
[18:22] * Kilarra nods, "I'm been through a lot, make no mistake. I thought about a lot of different ways to make my mother pay, but ultimately I think the most satisfying would be to dust her myself, and make sure she can't inflict that same kind of betrayal on anyone else ever again."
[18:23] * Aluthyra nods. "I will be sure to help you when the time comes." She sighs. "It seems she has much to pay for."
[18:26] * Kilarra nods, "You're not kidding. Graverobbing, murder, necromantic foulness, trying to take over the world. Those are just the big ones. I'm sure she has a myriad of other things not really worth mentioning in light of those first few."
[18:28] * Kilarra gestures to the blanket and the kazoo, "These two are ones I found from Whisperers in Riddleport over the years. At least, the ones I found out about."
[18:29] * Kilarra notes, "It may seem a little morbid, but these things are children who died alone and afraid, and I always felt that someone should remember them. Like a friend would."
[18:30] * Aluthyra nods, looking to the flutes. "That's sweet... that they're remembered, by you." She smiles. "Very sweet of you."
[18:31] * Kilarra blushes a bit.
[18:33] * Kilarra puts a lid on the box and slips it away. "I keep it safe here, but it's not really something I want to display that openly, in case people get the wrong idea. Now, want to see some of my -other- trinkets?" She waggles an eyebrow suggestively.
[18:34] * Aluthyra takes her turn to blush. "Well... we have time...""
[18:36] * Kilarra smirks and pulls out another, larger box from under the bed, wantign Aluthyra to have a look at what she had to play with before making a decision.
