Shining Wind

- The loading times are much shorter.
- Play Time is visible in the Save / Load screen.
- Virtually all missions take place on a single map and as such are very
 short.
- Your AI controlled partner will keep up with you fairly well, so you don't
 have to move them manually all the time. And if they fall too far behind,
 they'll teleport to you.
- Two attack buttons: Square and Triangle (fixed). To learn more about the
 battle system, you should probably just see it in action.
- Charge Attacks are gone.
- The Gold counter is gone.
- The Hit counter now acts like in other games and resets after a couple of
 seconds if you don't attack anything.
- No Advanced Mode.
- Monster Hunts can be done in the Mirror World.
- Chests are now visible on the minimap and no longer affect your rank.
- Bosses have a visible health bar (excluding a few you don't have to kill).
- There's only one healing item: Iyashi no Shizuku (Healing Vial). It
 usually restores about 100 HP (may vary).
- Critical Hits have no special sound effect.
- You can change equipment on the field.
- You can scroll through your items faster with L2 and R2.
- Mithril, Dark Matter, Orichalcum, etc. are gone.
- Accessories may have a numeric modifier requiring identification, although
 they only increase the item's Magic Defense rating and sell value. But,
 then again, I guess they don't mean that much on other item types either.
 A Leather Armor +2 is only 2 points stronger than a plain Leather Armor.
 Of course, that Leather Armor might also be magically enchanted and eg.
 boost elemental resistance.
- Level up: +2 HP, +3 CP, +1 SP
- Monster Cards have been replaced by Monster Gems or "Soul Pieces," which
 can be used to enhance your abilities using the Soul Matrix system. The
 intricacies of the system very much eluded me, but I managed just fine
 without spending much time with it.
- You can only use SP to boost normal attacks. Auto Skills are now tied to
 the Soul Matrix (wasn't really impressed with any of them).
- SP (TP) is gone. Instead, Link Techs use charges from the Soul Gauge.
 By default, a single charge takes about 10 seconds, and the maximum number
 of charges is 5. You can increase the charging speed and max number of
 charges by playing around with the Soul Matrix.
- Evasion math has been nerfed, making your Evade stat next to useless,
 whereas having even a slightly outdated Accuracy rating will immediately
 result in enemies frequently parrying your attacks (you don't actually miss,
 the damage will simply be reduced to 1).
- Bronze: 1, Silver: 10, Gold: 100, Plat: 500
- Enemies are *much* less passive and docile than before.
- There are also far more enemies that like to keep a distance and spam you
 with ranged attacks.
- Having gained the ability to cast spells with no delay, Imps are now among
 the most dangerous enemies in the game.
- Golems can still cast spells, but you can now interrupt them.
- Orc Mages no longer cast spells without delay, plus you can interrupt them.
- Bats will mostly just fly around randomly and annoy you.
- Mummies will now automatically return to animation on their own (just like
 all the other Undead) unless you use an attack that can destroy their bodies.
- Some group leaders can now issue a "gang bang command," prompting all their
 goons to rush at the target at impressive speed and continuously attack
 them about 6 times.
- The Gosunkugi is still pretty good, but it doesn't seem to affect ranged
 attacks.
- Tower of Heaven isn't here, but in its stead we have the Kairyuuou no
 Iseki (Sea Dragon King Ruins). This 40 floor optional dungeon becomes
 first available in Phase 12. Unfortunately, you *will* have to beat it
 with Kiriya first in the "real world" before it shows up in the Mirror
 World. You will find no treasure chests in this dungeon.
