Background:

jeonghui was born into a family with an abusive father, and up until age seven, her father often abused her and her brother, leaving her traumatised from the experiences. her parents then divorced and both jeonghui and her brother took up their mother’s last name, then they moved away from busan, and though the memories of her abusive father were long ago, sometimes she still has nightmares about it. she looks up to her mother very much, because her mother had to work to support the entire family and being a single mother was challenging, and her mother always helped jeonghui build up her confidence. her older brother jeongin moved to japan last year because of his job, and jeonghui learnt a bit of japanese from him, although they often fought as a child, they know eachother extremely well and he is always the person jeonghui can rant out to when she’s stressed.

she joined the cheerleading team out of sheer curiosity and interest towards the girls on the teams, i mean, which bisexual doesn’t like to stare at hot girls all day. though as time passes, she developed attachment and great friendships with the girls there, evem if she still doesn’t have much interest for cheerleading itself.

jeonghui is quite intrigued but also annoyed by him at the same time, one because of his attitude towards her, two because of his bland and dismissive reaction towards her pickup lines and three because of the weird nickname he gave her. her goal is to get a reaction out of him from her pickup lines, and make him drop that sassy attitude.

most people would at least have a slight reaction to her pickup lines or flirts, but doyoung’s bland eye roll just really sparked her determination to make him at least something. though after countless attempts, there was still no satisfaction result, she started to give up and forget about this ‘bet’ without realising, jeonghui then unconsciously started to expose her realer side to him, and they both started to accept eachother for who they really are. knowing pickup lines disinterested work on him, she spoke more genuinely and without the intentions of flirting. eventually, she stumbled and fell for the boy who liked her merely because of who she actually was and not the sexy flirtatious person she is known as.

they end up being a perfect fit as doyoung personally doesn’t really care about relationships, and doesn’t really appeal to jeonghui’s ‘sexy’ character that often makes others fall for her, which made him stand out from others. while she needed someone who can put up with her flirts and yet make her crumble with his compliments.

- jeonghui is usually the one who initiates skinship and doyoung isn’t really one to do skinship but accepts it anyways
- unexpectedly, jeonghui gets really embarrassed when doyoung just does anything romantic or flirtatious, it was such a surprise that she crumbles under such things
