Had I stayed a while longer
In this lantern burning bright
Woke up when light enveloped me
I would have seen what it all means

In a theatre with ends of apprehension
A mad house with creation
Abundant and gleaming with forward looking
What am I supposed to kill?

You held my hand when I was a baby
I held your hand when you were sleeping
You had me realize about time
That each one of us is in the grand line

Had you stayed in your seat
When the show was half through
Needless beings ran the room
Ride out to this storm, mother of mine

Ride through the nights blue
Walk the highway with sweat
Can you not with days left
Be a lender of time, oh lord, what a bet

Had you been the lender
Of this not so elder, oh lord
Time of more with spent rejoice
