  1. It'd been a long way from where Lynx came. Their joints were starting to stick and systems becoming a little sluggish. A good recharge and oiling was definitely in need. Internal GPS systems told Lynx that their destination would soon be in view. After hours of public transportation and walking, and running into many people along the way who Lynx found to be racist against Lynx's species. "I really hope this place is worth all this effort." they said, taking a seat on a near by stone wall. He sighed, tilting their body to the left and reaching into the pocket of their suit to pull out a brochure that was handed to them back in Nubani. "The Floating Islands. Sanctuary for human and monster alike. Come visit today!" Lynx flipped open the page where there was photos and a list of available services. "5 Star Hotels, hot springs, shops, and so much more!" But mainly, a place where all species could get along with each other. Lynx wanted to live there for a while and take down notes, take it back home, and perhaps be able to teach the ways to his people and humans a like.
  2. Suddenly, an internal beeping made Lynx's ears twitch upward, followed by his head Internal reading: "Destination ahead." ...Lynx blinked, "Ah.. Floating...Islands. Yeah, that makes sense." It was a lot bigger than Lynx had imagined. Of course, it was still some ways away, 300 miles to be exact. But from where he sat, in the distance he seen the islands strung along the air in their magical display. And if it was this big from where he sat, by the time he reached it it would for sure prove overwhelming. It was almost unreal, at this distance, but that was definitely where he was heading. It took Lynx a few more days to reach, systems exhausted. This far out, no one accommodated for Omnic needs. Charging stations and oils for consumption were hard to come by. He approached a large building on one of the largest pieces of land. Their ears tilting low on the sides of their head as he was using up the last of his power to get there. A bag on his back which carried a charger for himself and a few empty bottles that once carried water and organic oil. A hotel to rest in sounded so perfect right now.

  8. Imagine it. Walking through a door and a large goat woman comes over to you with much haste...but with the most hospitable greeting that Lynx ever expect to receive. One better than any human had ever given, and too genuine to be programmed. If Lynx could express a smile and a furrowed brow of appreciation, that would be what was returned. But instead, the chrome-faced Omnic could only return his gratitude by presence. The Omnic's ears sat upward, feeling quiet welcomed. He was expecting this to be just another hotel for the weary, perhaps to collect money after the journey. "I...yes, thank you." Lynx shook their head, "I mean, I would love to relax. And that pie looks and smells especially delicious. Although, I was wondering if there was an accommodation for ..um..." Lynx looked around, seeing none of his kind. "Do you have any O-grade Industrial charging outlets, or organic oil..for...drinking?" He felt really awkward. "Actually, tea does sound good." Lynx's 'ears' tilted back and he scratched the side of his cheek and let out an audible sigh for being too difficult.

  14. Lynx had to stifle a chuckle. This woman was very delightful and a breath of fresh air, per se. "I don't believe I am allergic to anything." he said in a positive tone. Lynx's voice was light and calm, but had a slight cybernetic echo to it. If there was any emotion that could be shown, Lynx's voice was a good give away. He didn't have the heart to tell her he didn't eat, let alone be allergic to anything. Besides, she did bring up pie twice. It must be good, he thought. "Thank you. I can't wait." He nodded towards her and made his way over the the seats with the outlets. Taking off the bag on his back and taking out a charger, and an adapter. The adapter made any regular 3-prong or 2-prong outlet suitable for an O-grade charger. Usually, Omnics didnt have to recharge if they could get hold of the correct oils and keep up with normal resting habits, but...its been a long journey and they had a feeling they wouldn't be seeing oil for quite a while. Thats okay though. Lynx plugged the one side into the wall, and the other side which was a single prong male-connector under his hood and into the back of his neck.

  20. "Toriel. Nice to meet you, and thank you for allowing me to stay here. My name is Lynx Seventeen, by the way.. I suppose introductions should have been made upon my entering. Sorry about that...."
  21. As Toriel prepared the food, Lynx allowed themself to rest, stting felt so nice. And something about these couches were very comfortable.
  22. Although sitting back, Lynx's ears perked upward as his sensors picked up the smell of Toriels food and drink. As the tray of goods was sat down, Lynx leaned forward slowly to pick up the tea and bring it up to his mouth. The steam from the tea fogged up the slight reflection of his face as he sipped at the hot liquid, allowing it to flow into his system. "Delicious." he commented.
  23. After she sat down, Lynx looked over to her while still holding the cup of tea in his hands. "I was hoping to stay about a week or so. I come from Nubani, in hopes to find out how you all live so peacefully here. Is that length of stay appropriate? What about the cost?"

  29. Letting out a small chuckle, "My people are.... well, there are enough to populate this place nicely. But perhaps over run it as well. Mass production sure is something else." Lynx took another sip of the tea, feeling them self at much ease. "Truthfully, all places have a little wrinkle once in a while. But so far, this place is nicer than most places my people have to suffer through. There are parts of the world where we are forced to live in sewers, and exterminated like pests.... Its sad, really." Taking another sip then setting the empty glass on the table in front of them. "So you dont own the place, just help out? Are you perhaps hiring? Or...hmmm...." he looked down to the empty cup. "Well, if you ever need any help please don't hesitate to ask me. I've nothing better to do than discover what this place has to offer."
  30. The ears lowered on Lynx's head, "It pains me my people are still treated this way. A lot of us fight for our rights, and while some places have come to, a lot of places still remain treating us as scrap. Thats why I'm here... It seems to be populated with different species and creatures of all kinds, so I hope to study and observe, perhaps take back some information with me to share with the humans which refuse to come to their senses." A couple seconds of silence fell over them due to the heavy topic. "I do believe I'll be looking a round a lot these next few days. Thank you for letting me know of the teleportation pads. But for now ....do you think I can have another cup of this delicious tea before I head to my room for the night?" His ears lifted from their lowered position, trying to brighten up the situation.
  31. Lynx watched her as she walked away, scanning her body language, able to read her vitals and how her age got to her, but she was still so dear. How comforting, Lynx thought. A creature such as her could be so kind and giving, and still know of the hardships and sympathize for Lynx's kind as well.
  32. Lynx decided that they already liked it here while keeping the previous conversation in his thoughts while Toriel went for some tea, kind of feeling bad that she had to get up for his sake, even if she didn't mind. Lynx stood up as Toriel approached and gently reached out, gingerly taking the hot cup from her so she did not have to worry about bending over, and sat back down. Sipping the hot tea in, it was almost as good as a fresh cup of organic oil. So so relaxing.
  33. His ears perked again, "Christmas?' he'd smile if he could. "I know you can't tell, but I'm probably smiling." he chuckled. "I'd love to stay and perhaps give a hand if thats okay." he took in a small sip of the tea. "mmm, yes. I believe it's settled then. I'll stay till Christmas."

  39. War. Lynx knew all about war. The very reason why the humans hate his kind, as well as the war and segregation they were in back home. He let the subject go for now. No need to dampen the mood of Christmas! Lynx sipped the tea again before reaching back and unplugging the wire that was tucked under his collar and to the wall. "I nearly feel 100%" a satisfied tone as he rolled up the wires and put them back into his bag. "I'm sure my people would love anything symbolizing kindness. Scarfs perhaps?" He zipped up the bag and took hold of the cup again. Since Omnics were mostly forced onto the streets, it would be a kind gesture to give out scarfs for sure. Winter is cold and well, their bodies had no heat to stand that kind of weather. "Your kindess will go a long way" Lynx stood up and made sure to take the cup with him. "I don't need too much space, any room will do, really. Perhaps one with a good view?" he looked to her, ears standing high with positive outlook, though they did move back as he chuckled at her nervousness. "No offense taken, I'll make sure to stop by and take a look at them. I'm sure the steam feels amazing."
  40. Her excitement was contagious. It had put Lynx in a good mood to hear her go through all the different things she could make in a flurry of maybe this, and maybe thats. Lynx responded with a light hearted chuckle as her soft breath escaped in a release of good thoughts.
  41. Lynx followed her to the front desk, still sipping away at his tea, trying to savor the warmth and the good feeling it had on his sensors and inner core. His ears perked again in curiosity, particularly at the creature at the desk. This place was much more diverse than he imagined.
  42. Lynx took the pen and signed his name, Lynx Seventeen, Check in, and check out date for the 26th of December. Before taking away the pen from the paper, a subtle beam of light quickly flashed from the three blue dots on his head, and he scanned and downloaded the information on the page, who was staying, visiting, and for how long. , "All done." Lynx confirmed, setting down the pen and picking back up his tea cup which was almost empty by now. "thank you so much for your hospitality Toriel. I really look forward to spending time here." / end day 1 )

  44. - DAY 2
  45.
  46. The first night seemed to come and go. For an omnic, turning off and back on again is quite literal. Systems reboot after a full night of re-charging, but without the proper charger and oil to fuel the inner omnic core, it was pretty much like charging a car for a few hours. Even so, An early morning was spent in the window looking out at the sunrise and gorgeous view from the 4th floor of the hotel room while making a mental log of the things they wanted to get done today. With a damp rag in hand, Lynx gently wiped down their metallic skin. They hadn't gotten to bathe since the beginning of their journey, and probably also needed a change of clothing. Not that they could feel it, but he could feel it. If that makes any sense. Lynx spent the majority of the evening scanning things in the room and reaching out to their superiors back in Nubani, at the same time mostly just telling them how long Lynx planned on staying in the Floating Islands while he did his research. -c- Lynx found themselves in the lobby again of the hotel that afternoon, to scope out all the outlets and wires in the walls. The layout of a building was just as important as the interior and build. As they reached the lobby floor, they noticed that it was slightly more lively compared to the previous night. Lynx scanned the room, matching those faces present to the names that he scanned in the sign-in book the night before when he himself signed in. Although, some were new and unregistered, their profiles, which Lynx could see through his view in a circle around each persons head all reading "Newly registered." or "Unregistered." All while taking in their names into their mental log until the sights were set on Toriel, helping out as usual and being as pleasant as ever. She was quite sweet. He didn't plan to disturb her however, and made his way out the doors to do some exploring of the islands.
