  14. Backstory: A neglected orphan child one day wandered off from a small town into the nearby forest. The child quickly became enraptured by the forest surrounding her and ventured deeper and deeper into it. She was not cautious as to know where she was or even if anyone was watching. While she was examining a patch of flowers, a timberwolf descended upon her! Quick to make a hasty retreat, revealing her Cutie Mark in the process, the child only ended up getting more lost in the forest. She managed to escape from the beast, but not before it bit out a chunk of her wing. Injured and with no idea of how to get back home, she began to weep in the shade of a tree. A silhouette of a lanky stallion soon approached her in the and sat with her. This strange pony was none other than Sugar Hoof! He quickly calmed her down and repaired her wing with spare parts he'd been carrying. After a short chat instructed her in the philosophy of creation and stoicism. She listened closely to him and hung on every word, internally vowing to follow his every guidance. The stallion soon had to be going. Sugar Hoof had left behind for her a gift to guide her home and in life. A clockwork machine that Sugar Hoof claimed would teach her the skills she'd need to help others and create. Shortly after she'd arrived back home, however, some schoolyard bullies damaged her new friend to the point of partial inoperability. The machine had lost its ability to create new machines, and so was unable to teach Susie how. Susie still put her new knowledge to use and began selling out her skills when she'd grown to adulthood, with the ultimate goal of finding a way to repair her friend and further stretching her abilities.
