  1. Anyone know of VPS hosting service with fast download speeds ?
  2. I just spend hours getting setup on HostGator to learn they have a 20 mb/s "traffic shaping" limit per VPS. They only told me that when I cancelled this morning - would not tell me before I signed up.

  18. I am trying to move from InMotionHosting which is 3 times faster in actual testing but I have been having multiple 10 to 20 minute outages per day. (I started a logger to monitor because I saw the problem by chance).

  22. So, anyone know of a VPS with at least 40 mb/s speed ?

  24. AWS, Amazon, Google Cloud, Azure, Vultr, DigitalOcean will all do over 300mb/s easily in my experience.

  26. A lot of companies will advertise connection speed, but you have to understand that is often shared with the entire server.

  28. If you really need a high connection speed, you might look in a VDS (Semi-Dedicated) Server as some companies offer dedicated Network ports on those, or at a bare minimum they are shared by less users. It will cost you a bit more, but will be less then a modern dedicated server is most cases.

  41. A port speed of 20 Mbps is low.

  43. Digital Ocean, AWS and many other providers will allow you to use 1 Gbps or more on their virtual servers.

  50. A2Hosting tests from my place at 75mb/s which is the top speed of my connection. The support people weren't hiding behind endless irrelevant phone-menu-options and they spoke English from North America - What a relief.
