5-5 guidelines: Ask yourself this

I assume you have sufficient basic equipment (Reppuu, Suisei 12A, Ryuusei Kai, 46cm cannons) to start attacking the map.

What planes do you have that are stronger than Reppuu, Suisei 12A and Ryuusei Kai (eg. Reppuu Kai, Suisei Egusa, Tenzan 12 Tomonaga), if any?
What BBs, CVs and CVLs do you have?
What radars do you have? Type 32 radars would come in handy here.
Are you willing to use damecon? Are you willing to use a lot of fuel and steel? And do you have Yamato and Musashi? Unless you answered yes to all, I don't recommend 2 CV 1 CVL.
Do you have a lot of high accuracy radars? Do you have at least two pairs of hotels? And are you willing to forgo daytime double attack at the boss node? Unless you answered yes to all, I don't recommend 3 BB 3 SS.
