  1. My actual issue with adding lawn games mostly boils down to costs and space.
  2.
  3. Are costs for buying stuff going to be passed onto attendees? Asking if we want more stuff in a bubble, or expanding the scope and cost of the event are two different questions. Not going to say that a few cornhole sets and a ping pong table or two and storing them in a warehouse is going to break the bank, but if we're looking at increasing the cost to attend to accommodate this new equipment that will really impact people's willingness to be on board with this.

  5. Also, there's a reasonable chance this would increase the cost of insurance for the event. The underwriters who look at the policy might hear "lawn games" and think "lawn darts" and dramatically increase the cost to insure the event. The sad part of this would be that it wouldn't be the dumbest things I've heard from insurance people. End of the day, does this increase the cost of attendance either directly due to buying stuff, or indirectly through increased liability insurance?

  7. Regarding space, do we even have this kind of available hotel space? TwitchCon did this during their concert, but they had Petco Park to work in. The AGDQ venue we've used for the last 3 years doesn't really have more space (Unless we tuck it way in the corner where the LAN room at AGDQ16 was), I don't believe the SGDQ16 location had space for it inside or outside, and the SGDQ17 doesn't seem to be any larger based on the current hotel problem. Are we looking at larger venues more wide open spaces for future events? If not... where do we intend on putting these where people can enjoy lawn games while making sure others passing through don't have to watch for stray beanbags, ping pong balls, or frisbees?

  9. Otherwise, if it isn't going to cost me as an attendee any extra, and we can reasonably fit it in, then sure, what the hell, let's do it.
