    "selftext": "Hi guys. I’m using a throwaway cause I’m p embarrassed about this, but I’ve been having a rough time this semester trying to balance my classes. I’m having  the most trouble with AP studio art. It’s ironic because I’ve wanted to do ap studio art since freshman year and I ended up arranging my junior year schedule specifically to make sure I could specifically do ap studio art senior year. \n\nWell, fast forward to now and honestly the stress has been unbearable. As a hobbyist with no prior formal art training, I really wanted the chance to learn art in a classroom setting, but now that I’m here I think I’m not equipped to handle the class. Most people in my class are better artists than me, but that wouldn’t really bother me if it weren’t for the fact that I’m extremely (and I mean Extremely) slow compared to them. I’m usually an entire assignment behind the rest of the class, and I’m really struggling on catching up. The thing is it’s the norm to pull an all nighter on the last day of the assignment, but because I’m slower than everyone else just one all nighter won’t cut it for me. I end up having to either not sleep much for the entire week, or pull consecutive all-nighters. Last week I think I averaged 2-3 hours of sleep during weekdays, and  yesterday I pulled an all-nighter to finish a drawing due today, but made myself so sick in the process that I ended up just staying home. It’s getting to the point where it physically hurts to stay awake any longer.\n\nI’m so disappointed in myself because it feels like I’m the only one in my class being like this. I just wish I was good enough. And because I’m devoting most of my energy into just getting my art assignments done, my grades in other classes have been steadily dropping. I’ve never had a B before, and now I’m afraid I’m gonna potentially get 3 Bs out of my four classes. My friends have been suggesting I drop art, and while I’m very reluctant about it I’m not sure what else to do. I personally don’t want to drop the class, and I also think it might look bad to do so, but I’m scared about how my other grades are dropping as well. Sorry for the long post. And a 730 on the Lit subject test despite never actually taking AP Lit.\n\nLast year I got a B+ in APUSH, but I got a 5 on the AP exam and a 700 on the US History subject test. My teacher who was known for inflating grades failed every student on the last quiz of the year, which was the only one that counted for the quarter. The grades ranged from a 28% to 61%. My teacher first semester said his class was at a college level, and when I told him I got a 5 and a B, he wasn’t even *remotely* surprised.\n\nSophomore year I got a 90 in AP World but a 5 on that AP as well. The class was so hard that there was literally a 100% pass rate, even though almost no one got A’s. By the end of the year I was putting basketball players on fill-in-the-blank questions of quizzes.
