Because of an dark and unhappy experience when she was a child, she made herself only remember the good times in her life instead of looking towards the future. Her depression slowly sunk in as she began feeling strange whenever she wants to be mad (she doesn’t identify that the feeling is anger or mad). Her family gave up on her and gave her to a family with the same last name, leaving her in their care.
