GS:
valor for proactive GSing
adept for reactive GS
striker for arts and alt to draw GS

LS:
valor for reactive play (also decent at proactive, but not as much as the next option) (best reactive bm wep in the game especially on monsters where reactive play can net lots of openings)
striker for proactive play
guild for proactive play with some better positioning attacks

SnS:
striker for almost everything
alchemy for long hunts and multiplayer where alch cheer and alch earplugs can actually help

DB:
striker for almost everything
adept/valor for easy hunts/making more openings if there seem like too few

Hammer:
guild/alchemy for predictive play
valor for proactive play
adept for reactive-predictive play

HH:
guild for classic well-positioned play
valor for hyper aggression
adept for reactive-aggressive

Lance:
striker for everything (best proactive weapon in the game, outdpses valor LS on monsters where aggressive proactive play works very well on)

GL:
adept/valor both have their ups and downs, but can generally be interchanged without much difference regardless of the case

IG:
guild for longer extract durations
valor for better damage and evasive options
aerial for long i-frames (aerial dodge iframes) and mobility (vault)

CB:
striker for planned and predictive play
aerial for reactive play and phial spam
valor for mobility and spontaneous reactive play
adept for planned reactive play

SA:
striker for lower commitment vertical swipes
alchemy for higher commitment higher dps double-swipe
valor for very mobile and hyper aggressive play
adept for safe reactive play

LBG:
striker for arts-focused play (for reloading fast, repositioning fast, using status LBG)
adept for general play
valor for pierce cycling

HBG:
valor
