Mate menubar/dropmenu broken / shows empty shit.

this is a dickhead thing that happend to me as i was messing around customizing shit, i dont even know what i did, but heres how you fix, took me 4 hours of researching, looking through files etc. PAIN. IN. THE. ASS

My Error:

AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'get_name'

FIX:
go to /home/user/.config/menus
delete mate-applications.menu
once deleted, edit menus, then hit revert
