  2. - been wanting to make this video for an extremely long time.

  4. - 1st three are about myself:
  5. - History of trihex, Current Trihex, Future Trihex
  6. - Last three are about my youtube channel:
  7. - History of Channel, Future of Channel, What videos to expect in the future?
  8. - Final portion is an announcement to make
  9.
  10.
  11. /// - History of trihex
  12. -- Feel like it's imporant that you know how I came to this point, especially if any of you are newer viewers who discovered me from Mario Maker in 2015 onward.
  13. -- And before I go over how I *used to* be, let's review what hasn't changed about me:
  14. -- speedrunning is an extention of enjoying a game so much you play it reptitively
  15. -- Have to enjoy the game to speedrun it. Have to play it casually to apprecaite the activity of destroying it.
  16. -- Started streaming in 2011, alongside being a full-time university student.
  17. -- Starting in 2012, when growing from speedrunning Yoshi's Island, developed a correlation of self-worth tethered to my skill at Yoshi
  18. -- Throuhgout 2012-2013, never played other games due to the guilt of not being the absolute best at Yoshi
  19. -- In mid-2014, I got into working out
  20. -- Working out helped me remove my ego and grow from 8th place to 2nd place in Yoshi by March 2015
  21. -- In 2015, SMM blowup happened, 6-8k viewer average, all with correlation of self-worth to skill carried over from yoshi, but now with the added pressure of keeping viewer numbers
  22.
  23.
  24.
  25. /// - Current trihex
  26. FITNESS:
  27. -- Before, I was paralyzed with anxiety of having too many priorities & the inability to focus on a particular goal:
  28. > stream more often
  29. > stream on-time w/ a schedule
  30. > workout more often
  31. > improve my RL situation with a better stream room/studio
  32.
  33. Now, simply, FITNESS has been and currently is my #1 priority. All with the goal of putting on clean mass, then slimming to single digit body fat percentage, with the certification of mastry of aesthetic - abs!
  34. -- You can tell by the beard, as I told my stream it represents my commitment to being fit and being persistent.
  35. -- I'm taking cardio and carbs very seriosuly for the first time. I got basic macros now, and will get advanced with it after TwitchCon.
  36. -- I feel held to a higher standard because of being synonymous with fitness & working out, and I want to be a role model for what people can achieve, and want to look amazing for my stream audience!
  37. -- Plus, streaming is very emotional, and being confident & having strong self-worth (for me, by being fit) hgelps a lot with that.
  38.
  39. EXPLORING NEW/MISSED GAMES:
  40. -- Since August, my stream content has included barely any SMM, been on Variety like a motherfucker to embrace enjoyment of stream & recognizing people come for me, not the game directory I'm featured in.
  41. -- 2017 is a year of firsts for me in many ways, including lots of 1st time tries at the unfamiliar, including 1st zelda ever, 1st metroid ever, 1st tactics game ever & playing a lite visual novel on stream
  42. -- I no longer feel trapped by the audience expectations or stuck in my 1 single "success" game directory on twitch
  43.
  44.
  45.
  46. /// - Future of trihex
  47. -- Streaming regains my top priority once Super Mario Odyssey launches (from July to now, Fitness has been my top priority, above streaming)
  48. -- NOT quitting speedrunning (probably speedrunning Odyssey, after playing firsthand, it's amazing)
  49. -- It may be defined as variety streaming, but ultimately, I'm in a search for the next game to give me the passionate drive I had for Yoshi's Island again. And there's no way to do that without playing what intrigues me casually beforehand~
  50.
  51.
  52.
  53.
  54. ///- Channel History
  55. -- Started out as a personal channel, no real focus. Even with dumping my 2006/2007 Yoshi runs on YT years later, stil never had an overall vision or direction
  56. -- Once streaming happened in 2011, the transition became highlighting on my highest-tier content from my speedrunning, which often meant infrequent uploads for weeks/months at a time
  57.
  58.
  59.
  60. /// - Channel Future
  61. -- A major goal is to have the channel, thru its content, show who I am as a whole person instead purely of inpersonal video game hype content. What else is there to me besides being "That Yoshi Speedrunner who played SMM"?
  62. -- I want to show more of the personal journey -- thru speedrunning, gaming, streaming, lifting and whatever else may come in the future
  63. -- I think that'll come best from displaying more of my thoughts and personal opinions on topics that intrigue me
  64.
  65.
  66.
  67.
  68.
  69.
  70.
  71. ///- Types of videos to expect in future
  72. -- Opinions on current and past topics (both related to speedrunning and not)
  73. -- FAQ videos like my thoguhts on Yoshi's Island, or why I don't speedrun Woolly World
  74. -- Continued stream of Gameplay & Stream Highlights
  75. -- Fitness Videos, like what my gym bag consists of; workouts I do; my fitness journey; etc
  76.
  77.
  78.
  79. ///- Announcements
  80. -- TriHard Odyssedy - 30 day livestream marathon, 8hr+ day w/ sub goals to get more awesome trihex emotes live!
  81. - More YI romhack content in 2018
  82. - NEW CHANNEL: Trihex On Demand
  83.
  84.
  85. ///- Thank You
  86. -- Thank you for watching
  87. -- Thank you for waiting for this moment of self-awareness, happiness, and progress
  88. -- Thank you for putting up with me all these years
  89. -- Thank you for helping me become the best me I can be, myself at my full potential. Without you, I'm not sure where I'd be at this point. But I'm happy to have you here with me. <3
