A former Chicago cop moves to a small Florida town and joins the state police.
I saw this series for the score on this page (7,5) and for the good reviews... but it was a complete waste of my time. Do not misunderstand me: if you are looking for a series to put in the background and do other things, it is perfect. But do not be fooled, it is not good at all. The acting is horrible, the main character is very poorly developed, and the argument is exactly the same in every episode. BORED.
I find some of the details on Glades inaccurate, and this spoils parts of the show for me. For example in Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves, the plot revolves around Foxglove growing in a garden outside in Florida. Foxglove is a zone 4-8 hardy plant. It does not thrive in Florida, especially anywhere near the Everglades, which is a growing zone 10. The plant pictured in the show did not even look like foxglove, which has a fuzzy or wooly green leaf, not the smooth light green leaf shown in the show. The version of the Samba that Matt's dad tried to teach Callie was a cha cha. At least get the count right! It's 1 ah 2, not 1 2 cha cha cha. Samba examples aren't that hard to find. The show has been full of little geography stretches that don't quite make it. One can hardly drive from the Glades to Atlanta in a couple of hours. Overall, not a bad show, but tone down some of Jim Longworth's really obnoxious behavior that wouldn't fly in a real cop-shop. There are plenty of good characters to develop without letting Longworth act like a jerk, like eating someone's pizza delivery.
