  1. (Villain is Chronus Kantor, a time travelling zealot who believes that human longevity is a sin against nature, and wants to destroy Crincap before contact with technological humans, and the application of Radtree fruits to cure cancer and other morbidities. He can only work through communication with those on and in the Crincap system, so he created the puppet group "Agents of Sahtrun" to do his bidding. They have bombed some spaceports and have taken control of a small space launch facility in the outskirts of Demidir.)
  2.
  3. (The docking ports on the station has been welded shut except for one, which is taken by an Interplanetary Rocketship.)
  4.
  5. Dungeon Goals
  6. -Stop the Agents of Sahtrun's Space Station's inhabitants from attacking Crincap.
  7.
  8. Wilderness Goals
  9. -Map the mountains of Caplir.
  10. -Arrive at the Caplir base (taken over by the Agents of Silence) without being seen by the villain's forces.
  11.
  12. Other Goals
  13. -Seize Control of an interplanetary ship that was captured by the Agents of Sahtrun.
  14.
  15. Adventure Villains
  16. -Chronus Kantor and the Agents of Sahtrun. A mysterious and far reaching but sparse group of devout religious followers of a religion that no one knows anything about. Chaotic Evil.
  17. -The Caplir Rebellion. A group of colonials on the planet Caplir who think they could do a lot better as an individual nation than as a research colony. About 10% of the population of the Caplir Colony is aligned with them. Chaotic Neutral.
  18. -The People's Socialist Nation of Demidir. A proper military nation to rival the United Federation of Ekajor. Lawful Evil to Lawful Neutral. Corrupt Communism.
  19.
  20. Adventure Allies
  21. -The planetside nation of Hitsdorn, an industrial empire which cooperates with Ekajor. Ekajor's space domination is in part a result of international cooperation between it, Hitsdorn, and other industrial nations. It mostly owns land in the colder regions of the planet Crincap.
  22. -Villain posing as an ally
  23. -Soldier
  24.
  25. Adventure Patrons
  26. -The United Federation of Ekajor. A united conglomerate of thirty small nations. It is composed of land in all habitable biomes on Crincap. Any official government agencies on or off of Crincap are either allied or commissioning the player's adventure.
  27. -Admiral Jason Lorwright. Spacefleet Command, Ekajoran Paramilitary.
  28. -Jebediah Hemmorah. Family friend of one of the adventurers. (Secretly a time traveler trying to undo Chronus' damage)
  29.
  30. Adventure Introduction
  31. -----------------------
  32. While the players are celebrating their graduation from Spacefleet Astronaut Academy in a local pub, Brickmark's Beerplace, Admiral Lorwright pops in and tells them that they're needed immediately. It turns out that communications with Toslo Station have been lost, and they're needed to report to the spaceport and launch into orbit to check it out and conduct repairs to their heliograph. From there, they are to use the interplanetary spaceship docked at Toslo to fly to the planet Weff to respond to a low priority distress signal on one of their cloud cities.
  33.
  34.
  35. TOSLO STATION
  36. Environmental Effects: -2 constitution from rapid rotational period in centrifuge.
  37. Toslo Station is a centrifugal space station, the first of its kind, with a crew of 250. It was once a scientific station to study the effects of differing gravity and rotation on humans, the effects of living in a self-contained environment for long periods. It was later replaced with the Rolnok station and now serves as a small vegetable and fruit garden (due to its large sunlit ceiling) for the Mooroid base and other space stations in Crincap orbit, as well as a cheap-ish tourist spot. It takes the appearance of a Torus/cylinder (square minor cross section) with a mirror cone in the middle and a non-rotating docking ring on the back.
  38.
  39. (It has been converted to a military station by the Agents of Sahtrun, and now has a load of weapons attached. Its docking ports are covered. Omnidirectional flashes broadcast a morse code that reads "stay 5 km away or gun." The only thing docked to it is an Ekajoran interplanetary ship.)
  40.
  41. (They do a thing that will pretty much be improvised on Toslo and will hopefully result in control of the station being regained, during which there is a chance that the interplanetary ship will be destroyed or stolen and they would have to go on a tangent to modify their shuttle to become deep space worthy, and proceed to the Cloud City. There may be a small bit of space combat with a ship that's no match for the interplanetary ship, but which might pose a problem against a retrofitted space shuttle.)
  42.
  43. VENERA SKIES CITY
  44. Environmental Effects: +1 Strength on weight lifting operations from Weff's lower gravity.
  45. Venera Skies City is a balloon of nitrogen/helium/oxygen atmosphere within the carbon dioxide atmosphere of Weff. It lies above the cloud layer, where pressure is 0.7 atm, same as Crincap sea level. It has a permanent population of 1500 people, including children and civilians. It is one of twenty such cloud cities. It operates as its own city state officially, but remains allied with Ekajor. It often experiences economical and infrastructure problems.
  46.
  47. It takes the appearance of a huge floating sphere in the sky with a long tether line running down to a lower altitude to high-temperature worker vehicles on the mountain below. Most of Weff's highest mountains are still too hot to work with, so coolant has to be supplied by Venera Skies' cooler air and ventilation fans. Each circular deck of the city is extended outside of the ship's hull by 5 meters for EVA work. The equator of the sphere is a docking ring for airship shuttles and rockets. Airships are dirigible/blimp style vehicles with internal habitation instead of a gondola, and the standard Weff space shuttle takes the form of a reusable rocket shuttle with dual hydrogen balloons on the side.
  48.
  49. When the players arrive, the mayor of the city tells them that they are in need of a steady shipment of Phosphorus and Nitrogen from Caplir, but the Caplir base has stopped shipping those elements to them.
  50.
  51. The players can restock their supplies, buy new tools and materials, and explore the city of Venera Skies while they're there. More action can be improvised on the spot as needed. They then depart Venera Skies for the Caplir Scientific Base.
  52.
  53. (some plot ideas: There is a Demidirian spy in one of the shops, that can be discovered. A woman is scamming folks by selling food that has had much of its phosphorous depleted and sold off on the black market. A young woman who wants to see the world tries to sneak aboard the player's spaceship.)
  54.
  55. CAPLIR SCIENTIFIC BASE.
  56. Environmental Effects: +2 Strength on weight lifting operations due to Caplir's lower gravity. Space suit is required for much of the time as each base module is generally isolated from others.
  57. Caplir Base is a fairly recent colony site on the planet Caplir (binary companion of Weff). It is a frontier town with a population of 1000. Buildings are metal pressure hulls at 0.2atm pressure, full of oxygen, covered in red bricks and mud. The base was originally developed as a place to mine for elements that are rare on Weff, such as Hydrogen, Phosphorus, and others. It is becoming cost efficient to sell pretty much any raw material to Weff from Caplir, as it is so expensive to mine in the overheated atmosphere of Weff, and it is easier to send rockets from Caplir to Weff than from any of the other planets to Weff.
  58.
  59. (There is a natural nuclear reactor within a cave near the base that will come into play much later.)
  60.
  61. When the players arrive at Caplir Scientific Base, they find that it has been taken over by the Agents of Sahtrun as well. The players must talk around and make a truce with the anti-Ekajor rebellion to help take back Caplir. Eventually they end up at the main mine shaft, where the Sahtrun headquarters lies. The players have to pose as agents of sahtrun and get to the central room, where the temporal communications beacon lies. They have a conversation with Chronus before figuring out how to shut it off. (One possible solution involves breaking down the mineshaft ceiling so that the powerful Sun flares can wreck the electronics.) The crew brings a reward of the unusual uranium ore, and some other rare and valuable minerals, along with them.
  62.
  63. Finally the players are instructed to return home, after a quick stop at the very modern orbital space city of Kline. It is similar to Toslo, except a much larger shape, and the cone is truncated as it doesn't need to go all the way up.
  64.
  65. On the way, a Demidiran warship makes rendezvous with the player's ship and enters combat.
  66.
  67. On approach to Crincap, no one responds to any communications. The rendezvous with the station, and find it in the wrong orbit and catastrophically damaged. There is a debris field throughout low Crincap orbit. Crincap is littered with lots of small, glowing red-hot scars and craters. An asteroid is spotted on a Crincap-crossing orbit.
  68.
  69. KLINE SPACE CITY (Damaged)
  70. Environmental Effects: Space suit must be used at all times due to depressurization. -3 strength, -1 constitution, -2 dexterity due to centrifuge being spun up to too-high gravity.
  71.
  72. One docking port remains, but it spins alongside the rest of the wobbly, rapidly rotating station. The station is littered with holes, marks, and a large section of hull is completely missing. The station's rotation has been knocked off of alignment with the Sun, so all of the mirror-based lighting goes from dim to nonexistent. The top garden deck is frozen.
  73.
  74. The goal is to help evacuate the station and figure out what happened. But this will probably be for another day.
