Backstory: T'liki is an outcast among his people, a rare genetic deviant. While the almost complete totality of his kind are plain brown spiders, he was born with a multitude of colors forming beautiful patterns across all of his body save his eyes and lower legs, which were gray with black stripes. Obviously this is an evolutionary disadvantage, as his kind usually blend into the trees to hunt the unwary traveling in the dark forests and he stood out quite a bit, but he decided to take it as a sign that he was meant for something more. Being told to go the hell away because he was hurting everyone's eyes helped him make his decision.

As a result T'liki traveled far and wide through the kingdom of Nobelia. It was rarely easy, as most people freak out when a giant spider approaches them and tries to talk, but over time he proved himself as a valiant nibbler of bandits and pounce-uponer of lesser evils. He came to be known as a decent if very very odd sort and most people stopped running screaming when he showed up in town, but he was still rather off-putting a presence... until some genius had the idea to recommend him to join the Heroes of the Nobelian Kingdom. It would let him do what he wanted (help people and see more of the world) while getting them what they wanted (the giant spider the hell out of the villages and where people with authority could keep an eye on him).
