Sum: (Every day at 5am, I cleanse my body with water from the well. While it is cold, it sharpens my body and mind.)

Sum: (It is a moment where I free my mind from obtrusive thoughts...)

Sum: (...That said, I do not have obtrusive thoughts in high enough quantity to require it.)

Sum: (After a prayer at the shrine, I prepare breakfast. I like cooking, besides)

Sum: (I cannot find peace without rice in the morning.)

Sumi's father: Today's miso soup is different.

Sum: Yes. I changed it for some white miso.

Sumi's mother: You're really devoted, to change breakfast every day.

Sum: (My parents preferred western food in the morning. The superiority of rice and miso soup is however overwhelming to me.)

Sumi's father: And your rice, every grain is just right as usual.

Sumi's mother: And the fish, I was skeptical about boiled fish in the morning... but this light seasoning.

Sum: (Due to the breakfast I prepare daily, I have successfully shifted my parents' preferences from western to Japanese food.)

Sum: I thought regular grilled fish was uninteresting.

Sumi's father: What is this tamagoyaki? It's not regular egg. ...Is it silkie egg?

Sum: A keen guess.

Sumi's father: Hmph... Sumi, you never cease to amaze.

Sum: (Although pretending to be a gourmet isn't without troubles.)

Sum: ...I've finished breakfast.

Sum: (After breakfast, and completing my preparations, I head to school as always.)

Sum: I'm off.

Sum: (This is my daily life. A regular, uneventful daily life.)

Sum: Good morning.

Sum: (The students from Shinju-kan elementary school's 6th grade, class 1 are kind and well-mannered, they're good people.)

Son: Zzz... The sunshine feels good...

Gin: Uhii! Made it in time today!

Sum: (...Only these 2 are rather different from the other students.)

Gin: The life of a 6th grader is full of stuff.

Gin: You were sleeping so peacefully, we didn't know if we should wake you up, but lunch break is almost over.
