Smashes machine

"Try this!" a voice behind him said. A wrench slid across the floor.

"Thanks!" Mickey grabbed the wrench, jumped up, and battered the machine. Sparks shot out and smoke rose from the spinning gears, but the machine kept coming. Clanking echoed behind him. Mickey figured his unseen helper must be taking on the other machine. Mickey jumped up, spun around, and with all his strength smashed the wrench against the metal monstrosity. The plunger machine wheezed, coughed, and powered down. The lab was suddenly very quiet.
