  1. Alright, so after SGDQ 2017 and earlier this year, I went on rants about how I didn't enjoy GDQs, how I thought anime conventions were so much better, and how I would be quitting from speedrunning. I think right now I can clarify/change what I said from before and talk about my current relationship with speedrunning.

  3. First of all, I'd like to discuss why I didn't really like SGDQ 2017 from a much less salty perspective. There were definitely people who I talked to which I enjoyed hanging out with, however I didn't see them very much or they were hanging out with other people most of the time. My disappointment from this GDQ comes down to two things I believe. First of all, I knew much less people going to GDQ in 2017 than in 2016, and the people who I did know were not easily accessible to be with for the most part. The second thing is that my mental health was significantly worse at this time than in 2016. I had just started therapy at this point, and I still had a very negative view of life at this point. While I've never had a panic attack before, SGDQ 2017 was definitely the closest time. I'd just like to clarify this people it really wasn't other people's fault that I didn't enjoy myself, and there were definitely times I had fun.

  5. I would also like to revise what I had previously said about going to future GDQs. I had said before that I did not want to go to GDQs again, but I have changed my opinion since then. I will likely go to GDQ if I know a significant amount of people going to the event. One big problem from 2017 which will not be a problem going forward is my room situation. Since I was under 18, my parents would let me go to GDQ, but they would not let me room with other people, meaning that every day I would have to purposely seek out people who I wanted to socialize with. For the future, since I would have roommates if I were to go to GDQ, this would not be a problem.

  7. I still hold the opinion that anime conventions are much more enjoyable to me, however I think that GDQs are not a bad event by any means. They have their own appeal and merit, but I think that they just don't appeal to me as much as other people in the community. Since I know a lot more people who are into anime than into speedrunning, it's a lot easier for me to talk to people at anime cons, and therefore enjoy myself more.

  9. I won't be completely quitting speedrunning. I will likely not be speedrunning much if at all during school (September to April). There are so many things I want to outside of speedrunning and the internet. During the summers, I will likely be hanging out in some streams, and I will do some casual speedrunning, but I don't think I will be grinding for WRs any time soon. This is not a definite decision, but for now, I will take a much more casual approach to speedrunning.

  11. Right now, I'm currently looking at marathon safe strategies for Pokemon Diamond/Pearl. I have looks at seeds up to 3 frames before and 3 frames after the 14093 TID seed, and I am attempting to route those to help anyone who would like to run this game at a marathon without needing a backup cart, or having to hit a frame perfect manipulation. I already know that Nerd_Squared is looking to submit this to AGDQ 2019, and I hoping that very soon (within a week), I can release a video showing these backup manipulations.
