  1. “No need to be scared, just open this book!”, my mother said, shoving a worn, leather-bound book in my hands! It was essentially a rite of passage for children in my family, practitioners of the dark arts. We were to learn a cantrip that had been passed down for generations. At that moment, I had done the worst thing I possibly could have... I trusted my mother was right. After all, how could things possibly turn out bad? As far as I remember, I’d been a “lucky” child to my family. When I was born, a large clamoring had sounded inside our elven village. A child who had been born in the form of the genderless god of the elves, Corellon. How lucky was I? A living myth, something to behold. Something I never understood though... why?! Why was I born a freak of nature, outcasted by other children?? A child who so desperately wanted a gender, only to be praised and lauded for not having one??
  2. Sigh... I think I’ve gone on long enough with this. I’m just a lightning rod for disaster. As soon as I opened the book, a great flash shone from within me, something that i was not expecting at all. The book exploded in a great white flash. All i felt... was darkness. When I came to, all i saw were the tattered ruins of my city... and the black book that had caused this. I took off. I ran, as far and fast as I could. I was nothing but a harbinger for disaster, I’d killed everyone, without even knowing how to. In running, I’d entered the sacred forest i was told never to step in to. The haven of the guardian of the forest. I was surrounded in white miasma; I could feel it draining my energy with every step. I was in shock, and I thought nothing of it, but my body had different ideas than my mind, and I collapsed.
  3. When I awoke, I was surrounded by wolves... but they didn’t seem to want to hurt me? In fact, one of them had a durian in its mouth, and was trying to offer it to me. I don’t really like durians, but I did appreciate the sentiment. I was genuinely frightened, so I slowly got up to show them I meant no harm. In doing so, i noticed that i was laying on a shining sigil. Could this have been someone’s magic? Had i been protected? From within my mind.. I heard a voice from a language I couldn’t understand... or... wait, I could understand it! I freaked out, so I didn’t comprehend it fully... from what i could make out, it had said “Child, no matter who you are truly, the power of nature will be with you forever.” The sigil slowly faded, but the miasma was gone! Now i could breathe! Animals of all kind flocked over to greet me, it was a sight to behold. I broke down crying, as everything i had just experienced in that short timespan was just too much to bear.
  4. So anyway, that’s the situation I’m in right now. I guess this is my life now?
