Cold Rainy Night

>Cold, rainy night.
>No big deal...don't have to go out for anything.
>Cook some food, watch the tube, play vidya.
>Hear noises outside.
>Group of fluffy ponies on your back porch.
>Wet, cold, hungry.
>Their little voices beg for human kindness.
>"Pwease food?" "So cowd!" "Can come inside pwease?"
>Tiny hooves scratch on the glass as they whimper.
>Lightning strikes nearby.
>Fluffy ponies squeal & cry.
>Hugging each-other in terror.
>Normally they'd be pooping in fear.
>Obviously haven't eaten in a long time.
>Some are injured.
>All are dirty, soaked, shivering.
>A few mares have skinny foals clinging to their wet fluff.
>"Hungwy, mummy" they cry.
>Mares have no milk to give.
>"Don' cwy babees...Mista be nice...Mista hewp...Mista gif food."
>Fluffies continue to scratch at door.
>Hoping desperately for lifesaving shelter, warmth and sustenance.
>Look out at their tear streaked faces.
"I have to do something."
>Slide open the door.
>Scatter a whole box of thumbtacks on your back porch.
>Close and lock door.
>Now you hear "Owwwiee!" & "Hoof huwt!" added to the whimpering.
>Eventually the stupid creatures get the message and leave.
>Sweep up the thumbtacks in the morning.
>Surprised the little morons didn't try to eat them.
