  3. # Building
  4.
  5. ##General
  6.
  7. For builds, check [this page](http://www.grappul.com). While building in Smite is very situational, grappul offers a nice basic build that off of which
  8. you can base your own, optimized build. If you want me to go into details on a certain item feel free to ask.
  9.
  10. ##Useful items
  11.
  12. **Qin's Sais:** This gives you exactly what you need: Attack speed and power. With this item you can melt tanky enemies like warriors or guardians and you're devestating
  13. against squishies.
  14.
  15.
  16. **Hide of the Urchin** A wonderful item for any warrior but Osiris profits from it even more than most. Due to the AOE nature of his skills (3/4) aswel as the debuffs that he carries he often ends up getting a lot of assits (on top of kills, of course). HotU gives you the necessary bulk.
  17.
  18. **DON'T GET HASTENED FATALIS** Many people build HF on Osiris because they think that it complements his kit well. While I get why you'd think that, it's a missconception. Your passive has the same effect and your 1-2 stopps anyone from getting away anyways (more on that later on).
  19.
  20. ##Sidenote
  21.
  22. Osiris is most effective in the solo lane (imo). Sololane building is *very* dependant on counterbuilding and situational items. If you have no magical enemies witchblade might not be a good idea, as an example.
  23. Use grappul with care and make sure to constantly think about who you're facing and build accordingly. I wont go into counter building any further unless you feel like it'd help you. If so, feel free to post below.

  25. #Skills
  26.
  27. ##Skilling
  28. Keep in mind that everyone has their own preferences and that the "best" way to skill is the one that best suits your playstyle. There are, however, some basic guidelines that are worth following, which are what I'll try to list below.
  29. ###Priority
  30. ####Option 1
  31. 2>1>3>4
  32.
  33. *This is the way I personally skill Osiris. It gives you max poke at early levels, where you're in lane and wont be trading AAs too often. By the time you'll engage in teamfights, you'll have your 3 on a decent level*
  34.
  35. ####Option 2 (suggested by /u/xX420scrubXx)
  36. 2>3>1>4
  37.
  38. *By prioritizing your 3 over your 1, you gain the ability to trade with your lane opponent early while still having good poke with your 2. This will also help in case of a gank, giving you more survivablity*.
  39.
  40. Note: That's how I skill him, others might disagree
  41.
  42. ###First five levels
  43.
  44. 2-1-2-3-5
  45.
  46. ###General
  47.
  48. Don't skill until the very second that you're going to use it. Keep your skillpoint ready incase the enemy tries to invade / your team needs you. Be ready to put a point in your escape ability if you need to get out quick: it's better to
  49. lose out on a little bit of earlygame power instead of giving away first blood.
  50.
  51.
  52. ##Fragmented
  53. A wonderful passive. The obvious use is that you're able to pass through minions or objects like Ymir Walls etc. Great for chasing aswel as escaping. The less obvious uses are just as important though:
  54. The damage mitigation synergizes wonderfully with your overall playstyle (weaken them as you slash away at them), as does the removal of the movement penalty - it allows you to stick to them while dealing damage.
  55.
  56. ##Sickle Strike
  57. Good poke and applies a slow. Good if you need to escape / catch up with someone.
  58.
  59. ##Spirit Flail
  60. Your main laneclear. It's an AOE and does good damage aswel as giving you movement speed. If you have previously hit the enemy with Sickle Stricke and the sickle still remains, they'll be slowed even more. Wonderful to keep someone in range for Judgement Tether.
  61.
  62. ##Judgement Tether
  63. This is what makes Osiris so wonderful in boxing matches. Not only is it a potential AOE multi-stun (if they stay in range long enough) but it keeps their damage down. Great to get out of tight situations aswel as giving you an advantage in a fight.
  64.
  65. ##Lord of the Afterlife
  66. Amazing ult. Reduces healing, roots aswel as activates your passive. Wonderful in a teamfight if the enemy has a healer or just to ensure that you get a kill. Keep in mind that it's your only leap though!
  67.
  68. #Tips
  69.
  70. ###Your 1-2 combo
  71. Use your 2 on your enemies after you've hit them with the sickle. This might seem obvious but people don't do this enough. Your skills become much more viable if you use their combo potential.
  72. If you hit both skills your enemy is horribly slow and you yourself gain a movement buff. This is amazing if you need to chase someone down.
  73. While they might have an escape they almost certanly wont get away unless they can jump over a wall or remove the slow. Remember this if you're getting focused and need to get out aswel:
  74. while Osiris only has one leap (his ult) the slow & movementspeed combo is usually enough to get away from people. Combine it with your 3 to reduce the damage they do to you aswel as to get off
  75. a possible stun.
  76.
  77. ###Your 3 saves teammates
  78. Many people don't realize this but your 3 does not give you protections but rather **reduces your enemies' power**. This does not just apply for yourself but also
  79. for anyone else they might attack. Appart from the fact that a 3/4/5 person stun is incredible in a teamfight you'll also reduces the enemies' overall DPS simply
  80. by keeping them within the range of your 3, use this!
  81.
  82. ###Your 4 has healing reduction
  83. A lot of people seem to forget this. Your ult is not only a leap that allows you to get away / catch up to someone but it also roots aswel as reduces healing by 100%.
  84. In a teamfight, this is invaluable. Try to make sure that you get a potential healer (e.g. Aphro/Hel) with your ult so that they can't heal your teammates.
