The reason you see the scene as real is because you saw it on the nightly news (it is supposed to report on "real events") and because all of the movie making cues and clues are absent (such as impossible camera angles, multiple camera angles, other impossibilities).

  10. You have not figured out there is a NEW GENRE that is being peddled on your television (and YouTube). It is "event reality". It is where a FAKE event is PORTRAYED as real. This is done by REMOVING the traditional cues and clues that alert you to something being fake.

  14. When you eventually figure this out and can see reality the way it really is - you will return to this video and kick yourself for not seeing it all along.

  18. All we can do is point out INDICATIONS that it is fake. Indications that we would not reasonably expect to see in "real life".

  22. But because you are going INTO the experience with the belief it is real you are inventing plausible explanations for each of the indications.

  26. We are pointing out "doubtable moments" and you are using your natural intelligent to suppress that doubt.

  34. Do you understand why we don't let young children just watch any television they like? It's not just because they might hear "course language" or see "adult themes" but because their mind does not yet understand that what they see on the television isn't necessarily real.

  38. By that I am talking about movies and other fictional things (that are obviously fictional to adults). That's because the child has not yet *learned* to recognise the "cues and clues" that reveal when something is fake.

  70. Watch the above video again and this time watch it wearing the "hat" that you know it's fake. That the old guy is just acting and intentionally drove into the water to create a memorable "social message" for the audience watching at home.
