Alina's Journal - September 14 2018

September 14 2018 - Howdy Dexter! (This journal is named Dexter by the way... Don't judge me.) I spent most of the day discussing battle strategies with Nurse Carina. She isn't the best fighter, but I think we might have devised a strategy that would help other members of our team whenever we need it! So I was reading this book the other day about marine life that lives miles below the surface of the ocean. Apparently there are these really neat little bugs that use the light to hide in the water. I decided to use that as inspiration for Nurse Carina and her Dazzling Gleam! Sure it's great to do damage, but that's not the only thing that light is capable of. If we can find a way to manipulate that light around an object it would basically disappear. Almost like we put a mirror in front of them to hide them from view! Yeah... It's like an invisibility cloak that you can put on anyone! Nurse Carina was thrilled with the idea, she doesn't like fighting very much so this will put her into a nice support role for the team. We also figured out a way to help Zips if he ever gets into a bind. Hopefully he doesn't. I haven't seen him in a while and I'm starting to get a little worried. Everyone says I shouldn't be though. That he's a ghost and nothing can really happen to him. I don't really think that's true. Just because you're dead doesn't mean that you aren't capable of getting hurt anymore. It means that the wounds take even longer to heal, if they ever heal at all. Tomorrow is Mom's birthday. I'll have to go to her grave tomorrow... I haven't seen her or papa since I turned eighteen.
