The Kyoru region is filled with many wonders, ranging from natural land formations to manmade monuments. Life was prospering, both humans and Pokémon are working together to create a truly beautiful region. A large part of the region’s success is owed to the famous Prism Incorporated, lead by Avery Wisteria, who is also the region’s head Pokémon Professor. Prism Inc.’s scientific breakthroughs were completely revolutionizing everybody’s life style. Prism Inc. is a research and development firm and one of the most advanced in the world. Its research had shed light on many mysteries of Pokémon, while maintaining its specialization in Pokémon medicine. Until one day, after months of speculation, Avery Wisteria publicly revealed she would be stepping down as CEO of Prism Inc., and revealed she had been diagnosed with a terminal illness. She stated she would be continuing her work as Pokémon Professor in a much more quiet location, which she had found in her hometown of Crysallis Town, located on an island off the coast of southern Kyoru.
 Devastated at the loss of their beloved leader, Prism Inc. scientists began trying to find a cure for Wisteria, unbeknownst to her. Despite numerous failures, the scientists had vowed to find a way to save her. It was on their worst day when they learned of the legendary Pokémon, Temponae, and its ability to not only control the fabric of Space-time but also its control over the fate of all living things. In another part of Kyoru, a group of people have found a way to control Rudrak, another legendary Pokémon. They had found a way to use it to destroy threads in Temponae’s webs, which unknowingly causing huge disturbances in the universe. Planning on using Temponae’s web to give themselves immortality, the group does anything they can to get access to Temponae’s cave, even if it means eliminating anyone who gets in their way.

 Vincent/Vivian is a soon-to-be trainer from Crysallis Town. He lives with his mother in the middle of town, along with his best friend, Erin/Aaron (opposite gender of player). Erin has lived with Vincent’s family since she was five, when her parents died in a boating accident. Having been raised together, Vincent and Erin were inseparable. They were closer than most siblings. Though their personalities clashed at times, they always made up.
 One day, Vincent was woken up by Erin’s calling him downstairs. Quickly getting dressed, Vincent heads downstairs where his family is waiting for him. After being scolded by Erin for forgetting what day it was, the player and Erin head to Professor Wisteria’s Pokémon lab. In front of the building, Corina (other friend) along with 3 other teenagers, all around the age of 16, wait for the doors to open. As the three wait, we learn that Corina is a big fan of Professor Wisteria and hopes to follow in her footsteps.
 Once the conversation is over, Professor Wisteria calls the soon-to-be trainers into the Lab. She takes the players to the backyard of the laboratory, where three Pokemon (the starters) are roaming around. The Professor stands in front of a battlefield, and begins a speech that introduces everyone to being a Pokemon trainer (optional skip screen?), ending with “I encourage you all to ask yourselves; why do you want to become a Pokemon trainer?”
