Acting on their divine duty to protect the ancient holy land, Siegmaria declares war on the Western Alliance and the Iron Pact with the aim of stabilizing Aemore once again. Siegmaria convinces the Antaran government to aid them in their objective with the assurance that they will be able to conquer Hampton Island from Wesmere and colonial territory in Alcamba.

A nuclear exchange between Antara and Desnia occurs in the opening minutes of the war. Over the next few hours of constant launches and interceptions, the western regions of Desnia are devastated by several nuclear detonations. The Antaran city of Alexandria is the only one to be struck by an ICBM.
Both militaries make use of tactical nuclear devices against concentrations of military targets on the battlefield, with varied success.
