  1. "We are under heavy fire!" Tier-4 Protectorate Sergeant-Commissar Solarcut yelled with his index finger glued at the ear piece attached on the left side of his helmet. "Requesting immediate assistance!!"
  2. The sun above burns so bright; few patches of clouds were scattered across the bright blue sky. Hot wind gently blew, causing the palm trees to sway gently followed by the sound of splashing wave against the shore from the distance. Solarcut could hear the waves rising but he couldn't see the ocean itself as he pressed his armored back against the sandbag that protects them all from enemy fire. He heaved a heavy sigh as he strained his ears against the noise, trying to make out all the sound around him; inhuman growling, heavy footfalls, Hades Railgun firing, Humans screaming and the sound of nature. He risked a peek outside the comforts of the sandbag, spotting a Demon that belongs to the attack force sent to devastate them; a Demon with bluish-purple skin, glowing yellow eyes, missing nose and mouth, two horns and on the crown of its head, a shark's fin could be seen. Its body was covered in gunmetal grey armor with dark cobalt trimmings. A tattered shawl was wrapped around its neck. On its hands, a long elongated rifle can be seen; magazine glowed in green. Both the Protectorate and the Demon Legionnaire locked eyes with one another before the latter reacted and fired at him.
  3. Instinct took over him as he ducked; the green laser shot whiffed past overhead. His quartered red and grey armor remained untouched by the shot. He aimed back, green eye lenses locked onto the Demon, and fired thrice. First shot from his rifle had hit the enemy to its chest. The second, to its neck, and the third, to its face. It fell backwards, dead.
  4. Shortly, another one replaced it. It was the same copy of the Demon Legionnaire he had shot earlier. It fired back, eager to avenge its fallen comrade. Solarcut ducked as the sandbag shook twice. He wasted no time as he took a peek and fired thrice as well, aimed at its head. He ducked down again and glanced at his companions, three Remnant Soldiers in bloodstained SecuTek Armor. They were shaking, but they were pulling it together.
  5. "Trust in Him, soldiers." He breathed as he peeked over the sandbags and fired at the Demon he spotted. He could see them climbing out from the foxholes they have dug and charged at them. More Demon Legionnaires could be seen rising from the oceans ahead, yet he averted his focus to the nearest ones. He will take care of them but for the meantime, he has to take down the closest Demons.
  6. "Reapers of the Deep, CHARGE!" One of the Demons yelled as they strafed forward. Their footfalls followed by the loud whine of their railgun filled Solarcut's ears. This has also inserted fear inside the minds of the Remnant Soldiers with him.
  7. "Hold your grounds, soldiers." Solarcut ordered as he aimed his M4A1-Cyber Assault Rifle at the incoming enemies and fired at the nearest one. The Demon staggered back as a shot had reached its chest, stopping it. A second one tore through its neck, blood sprayed in the open air as it fell backwards. His aim jumped at the next one, firing thrice at its chest. The bullet hadn't penetrated the flesh of the Demon but it was enough to halt it from its tracks. His aim adjusted a little further up and he fired, putting a bullet between its forehead. Flesh popped in the air as flesh and gore splattered everywhere. He fired at the next one, hitting its left shoulder. It causes the Demon to drop its weapon. Before it could react, Solarcut fired two more shots that raced towards its skull.
  8. The Demons had their sights on to him causing them to concentrate their fire at the Protectorate. His left shoulder was hit and his left breast as well. He immediately duck as the laser shot sizzled, melting a small portion of his armor. The burn has also reached the flesh but the armor fluid quickly extinguished the burning chemical and turning the scorching hot pain into a mild itchy one. He felt the wound heal and the armor re-sealing itself. He removed the almost-empty clip of his rifle and slapped a new one before aiming at his new target. He squeezed the trigger, hitting the right eye of the Demon and its absent nose. He aimed at the other one and fired thrice; first bullet penetrating its neck, the second and third one, its head. He watched as the skull bursts in red gore.
  9. Hiding back down, he watched as his companions fired at the waves of Demons approaching. Inhuman growls escaped the voiceboxes of the enemies they killed. Solarcut cocked the grenade launcher underneath the barrel of his rifle and aimed. He spotted a group of Demon Legionnaires and fired. Soon, they were engulfed in a fiery explosion that sent them flying everywhere. He aimed at the second ground and fired, blowing them up. He fired his rifle, spraying another set of bullets at an unlucky Demon. He watched horribly as the waves remained undeterred as they advanced at them. The Demon Legion was so close that when they fired simultaneously, it would be impossible not to get hit.
  10. Railgun lasers flew overhead; some were hitting the sandbag that causes it to shake and spill its contents to the ground. Solarcut has to accept the fact that they were pinned down. He saw one of the Remnant Soldiers with him fired back despite of the enemy lasers flying everywhere. Solarcut admired his bravery but unfortunately, a Demon Legionnaire had vaulted over the sandbag and reached the Remnant Soldier. It launched the stock of its railgun and slammed it at the visor of the Remnant's helmet, causing him to fall down. Solarcut was about to jump and help him but he was too late, the railgun was fired at the face of the soldier at pointblank range.
  11. Tackling him down to the ground, he pinned the Demon down with his left hand pressing its left shoulder hard. He drew out his Combat Knife and stabbed the face of the Demon repeatedly. When the Demon laid motionless, he drew out his blood soaked knife from its flesh and yelled at his companions.
  12. "Pray with me." He said. "Our Father, who art in Heaven..."
  13. "Hallowed be thy Name, thy kingdom come..."
  14. Solcarcut set his aim at the closest Demon and fired thrice at its face. It fell quickly, face first...if it still has a face.
  15. "Thy will be done on Earth, as it is in Heaven."
  16. The remaining Remnant Soldiers fired at their intended target, slowing their enemies and eventually slaying them. Solarcut pulled another Demon by its neck when it has gotten too close. He sent its face crashing against the sandbag before stabbing it at the back of its head. He fired a few more shots, taking down the nearest Demons.
  17. "Give us this day our daily bread,"
  18. "And forgive us our sins,"
  19. A large group had advanced closer to them. The Remnants and the Protectorate has no other option but to congregate, which they did, and fired simultaneously; concentrating at the frontliners that were getting dangerously close. Their combined firepower has managed to put down the nearby ones but at the expense of more laser burns.
  20. "As we forgive those who have sinned against us,"
  21. "Do not bring us to the test,"
  22. One of the Remnant Soldier fell to the sandy ground as he clutched his melting shoulder. Solarcut retaliated, firing back at the Demon who had fired that shot before glancing at the Remnant. He was still breathing which was a relief, yet, he was barely conscious. Despite of their efforts to hold them at bay, they still outnumbered the defenders as the Demons started to vault over the sandbags with their railguns raised.
  23. "But deliver us from evil,"
  24. "Amen."
  25. Just as they are about to lose hope, six bright lights suddenly appeared from the sky. They have started to fall down, crushing any Demons that were unlucky enough to be near the sandbags. Solarcut recognized them all; Protectorates in Angelic Form. Suddenly a much larger bright ray of light descended from the skies. It landed in front of the Protectorates in Angelic Form. Solarcut genuflected at the figure: it was the Archangel Phanuel.
  26. "Protektovares!" He called in Enochian language. "Charge forward!"
  27. "Who is like God!" They replied.
  28. Within minutes, Solarcut and the Remnant Soldiers watched as the reinforcements obliterated the Reapers of the Deep Legion. They were burned, mutilated, scarred, crushed and thrown as the Weapons of Heaven obliterated their ranks brutally.
