  1. 2-2-2 Lock isn't the end of Overwatch. People are focusing on something negative and ignoring the huge change the dev team has finally added after so many people asked for it: Role Queue. Finally as a DPS player, I can queue into a game and can be expected to play DPS cause that is what I exceed at. It does not mean I cannot play support or tank; it just means I am more comfortable to play a role I know I can do better at. People are see the 2-2-2 lock as the end of creativity cause of the idea that 2-2-2 meta is forever sticking for seasons to come. While I don't know what Blizzard plans on doing, I don't think that it will be locked on 2-2-2. I believe Blizzard is simply testing if role queue itself will work and the better way to test it as well as have large pool of feedback is through a locked meta. If feedback comes in and says that having 2-2-2 locked does not work, then Blizzard will see that. Obviously, it will take time as it took time for role queue to be implemented, but I am hopeful of the future.

  3. Something to provide an example of thinking, let's look at FFXIV. FFXIV also has role queue and a locked roster of 2 DPS, 1 Tank, and 1 Support. However, the difference in what FFXIV does is this: If I queue as a Summoner (A DPS job in FFXIV) then I am put into a team as a Summoner. If I queue as a Paladin (A Tank job), then I am put into a team as Paladin. If I queue as a White Mage ( A support), then I put into a team as a White Mage. I am not saying that having Hero Queue is the next step, cause quite honestly that promotes one tricking. What I am saying is this, a game with role queue implemented is standing strong and given accolades for being a fun game. Don't you want Overwatch to be praised again, to be fun again? This will not solve all problems the game has, but it's a small stepping stone. I hope people will realize this and be more accepting of role queue when it hits live.
