- Sonic Heroes: Team Rose FAQ
- Q: What console are you playing on/controller are you using?
- A: This is the Gamecube version! I'm using my Wii with a gamecube controller!
- Q: What is the aim of this run?
- A: To complete Team Rose's story as fast as possible. This includes beating all 14 stages and 7 bosses.
- Q: What is your PB/WR?
- A: My PB is 34:00, the WR is 31:38. My aim is to get a clean deathless run that I'm happy with!
- Q: Why do your splits show a different time for your PB time?
- A: In Heroes, we use the In game time from the file timer at the end of the run as our final times on the leaderboards. This allows us to account for a few things which real time does not (such as loads and version differences)
- Q: How did you shoot off/teleport into a later part of the stage?
- A: This is a trick called "Bop boosting". When in flight formation, if you hit your speed character on the same frame you land, the speed character gets hit out of the totem formation, but the game still thinks they're supposed to be a part of it. If you move away from the speed character and try to fly, the game will push you and the speed character together. Thus, if you separate yourself from the speed character with a wall after they've been hit, the game tries to push you together, but the wall gives a "slingshot" effect and pushes you away at a super fast speed. With correct aim and timing, this trick saves a huge amount of time.
- Q: How is Big flying through the air?
- A: This is a trick called "Power flight formation". In this game when you jump off an incline, your gravity is skewed, and remains skewed for a little while. During this time, Big can do a belly flop with this skewed gravity. After doing a belly flop, you can cancel the belly flop (pressing A) and then do another Belly flop to chain them together. This maintains your skewed gravity as well, allowing you to essentially fly through the stage!
- Q: What are the icons next to your splits?
- A: The icons indicate how well a split went in my PB. The ranks go from S to E, an S being near perfect, to E being absolutely awful.
