  3. -------
  4. >Where was that fox?
  5. >Judy had sent him out hours ago and he still hadn't returned.
  6. >She checked her phone: no messages, no missed calls.
  7. >Should she call him?
  8. >Naw, he'd think she was being a silly worry-wart.
  9. >She looked out the window again at the night sky and the empty sidewalk.
  10. >Maybe a text? A simple one.
  11. >"Any luck?" she typed and hit send.
  12. >Then she waited anxiously.
  13. >And waited.
  14. >And waited.
  15. >As it often did for her, anxiety turned to irritation.
  16. >"Oh, he's in TROUBLE when he gets back!" she muttered to herself.
  17. >She thumped the floor with her foot and started to pace.
  18. >"A -lot- of trouble!"
  19. >Another peek out the window. No Nick.
  20. >She paced faster, scowling.
  21. >"He's going to be using his paw for a week after this ... no, TWO weeks!"
  22. >The front door to the building opened and closed and Judy's ears shot up.
  23. >She turned to her door and crossed her arms, glaring.
  24. >It opened, and there was Nick, all bundled up against the December chill and holding a paper bag.
  25. >"You're in trouble, Mister!" she shot at him.
  26. -
  27. >He just smiled his infuriating smug smile.
  28. >"Furry Palmer and her four sisters for a week again?" he asked teasingly. "You almost made it through a whole day last time."
  29. >Judy grrr'd. Nick laughed warmly.
  30. >"Come here and get a hug, Fluff."
  31. >Judy lifted her chin and shook her head, looking miffed.
  32. >Nick sweetened the deal.
  33. >"And a kiss."
  34. >Judy ran to him like she was shot out of a cannon, then wrapped her arms tightly around him and hugged with all her might.
  35. >"I was worried something had happened to you," she confessed.
  36. >Nick rubbed her between her ears and laughed again. He held up the bag.
  37. >"Last bottled in the whole city!" he proclaimed proudly.
  38. >She quickly pulled out the bottle and read the label.
  39. >"Senior Jose Hangover's Faux-Paign?" she said with obvious distaste.
  40. >"All they had," Nick said apologetically.
  41. >"'Keep away from children, pets, and open flame. Not for intentional use as an emetic.' Judy read aloud off the label.
  42. >"Nothing but the best for my Carrots!"
  43. >"You're still in trouble, you know. And where's my kiss?"
  44. >Nick lowered himself to his knees, then lowered his head.
  45. >"Not there!"
  46. >He did, anyway.
  47. >"Nicholas P. Wilde! Just because it's New Year's Eve doesn't mean you can take liberties!"
  48. >He took the liberty of another kiss, then sniffed.
  49. >"Wow, you really -have- missed me," he said.
  50. >"Get your nose out of my business!" an exasperated Judy said; "We're going to drink a toast to the New Year and then we're going to bed."
  51. >"That sounds fun!"
  52. >"And sleeping," Judy amended.
  53. -
  54. >"And once you think I'm asleep, you're going to sneak into the bathroom with your toy, only to find a certain fox hid the batteries."
  55. >Judy's eyes opened wide and Nick grinned knowingly.
  56. >"You're sleeping on the floor tonight."
  57. >"Another cold night on the floor," Nich faux-sighed and then said, "Let's open that bottle!"
  58. >Judy struggled for a moment, but was finally able to pop the cork. A miasma like a cross between paint thinner and swamp gas filled the room.
  59. >They both wrinked thier noses.
  60. >"You first," Judy said, offering Nick the bottle.
  61. >"Glasses?" Nick asked.
  62. >"I didn't do dishes tonight."
  63. >Nick shrugged and took a swig off the bottle. He screwed up his face as the high-test taste of fortified wine hit his tongue.
  64. >"How is it?" Judy asked.
  65. >"Wonderful," Nick coughed, then handed the bottle to Judy.
  66. >After an uncertain look, she upended the bottle and took a couple of big swallows.
  67. >Grimacing, she said, "That's terrible! But it beats carrot wine."
  68. >They passed the bottle back and forth, and Nick noticed that for every swallow he took, Judy took three.
  69. >"You're not going to make it to midnight at this rate, Fluff," he said.
  70. >After a half-hour, Judy felt absolutely fantastic.
  71. >"Wanna go to Sahara Square and watch the ball drop?" she asked.
  72. >"New Year's Eve is Amateur Drunk Night and half of Zootopia will be there. Remember how you almost got stepped on last year?"
  73. >Judy got down on all fours and crawled toward Nick.
  74. >"Ok, then. Do you want to stay here instead and watch my pants drop?" she asked coyly.
  75. >"I thought I was in trouble?"
  76. >"I'm granting you a New Year's Eve pardon."
  77. >"And you are a very buzzed bunny. I would feel like I was taking advantage of you."
  78. >Judy smiled keenly.
  79. >"You would be," she said and sashayed over to the bed.
  80. -
  81. >A few minutes later they were spooning.
  82. >Nick's paw down Judy's underwear. His touch was perfect, as it always was.
  83. >"10," Nick began to count down.
  84. >Judy writhed against the maddeningly precise touch of Nick's fingers.
  85. >"9"
  86. >She began to tremble, feeling the tension building.
  87. >"8"
  88. >Her breath came in short gasps and she spread her thighs wider.
  89. >"7"
  90. >All she knew was want: the want for Nick to never stop what he was doing, the want to feel this way forever.
  91. >"6"
  92. >She closed her eyes. His touch was everything now. Want became desire and desire became craving.
  93. >"5"
  94. >"Nick, don't stop. Oh god, don't stop!!"
  95. >"4"
  96. >She threw her head back and gasped before letting out a strained moan of unadulterated lust.
  97. >"3" he whispered soft as she began to tense up and shake.
  98. >"Oh Nick -- ohhh -- OHHHH!!!"
  99. >"2"
  100. >She thrashed her head from side to side and grabbed the covers in her tightly-clenched fists, panting Nick's name over and over.
  101. >"1"
  102. >"NICK!! OH NICK!!" -- the wave that hit her sent her reeling with mind-rending pleasure. It went on for what felt like an eternity: wave after breaking wave, leaving her shaking hard and cry out in passion.
  103. >All over Zootopia, fireworks went off with concussive thuds. Judy's fireworks out-blasted them all.
  104. >A warm nuzzle from her fox, and a soft whisper: "Happy New Year, Judy."
  105. >Panting, trembling, whimpering, she pushed back against Nick as he wrapped his arms around her.
  106. >He kissed the back of her head as she sighed herself blissfully to sleep.
  107. >The year was already off to a a great start.
  108. >"Happy 2022, Fluff."
