- >Where was that fox?
- >Judy had sent him out hours ago and he still hadn't returned.
- >She checked her phone: no messages, no missed calls.
- >Should she call him?
- >Naw, he'd think she was being a silly worry-wart.
- >She looked out the window again at the night sky and the empty sidewalk.
- >Maybe a text? A simple one.
- >"Any luck?" she typed and hit send.
- >Then she waited anxiously.
- >And waited.
- >And waited.
- >As it often did for her, anxiety turned to irritation.
- >"Oh, he's in TROUBLE when he gets back!" she muttered to herself.
- >She thumped the floor with her foot and started to pace.
- >"A -lot- of trouble!"
- >Another peek out the window. No Nick.
- >She paced faster, scowling.
- >"He's going to be using his paw for a week after this ... no, TWO weeks!"
- >The front door to the building opened and closed and Judy's ears shot up.
- >She turned to her door and crossed her arms, glaring.
- >It opened, and there was Nick, all bundled up against the December chill and holding a paper bag.
- >"You're in trouble, Mister!" she shot at him.
- -
- >He just smiled his infuriating smug smile.
- >"Furry Palmer and her four sisters for a week again?" he asked teasingly. "You almost made it through a whole day last time."
- >Judy grrr'd. Nick laughed warmly.
- >"Come here and get a hug, Fluff."
- >Judy lifted her chin and shook her head, looking miffed.
- >Nick sweetened the deal.
- >"And a kiss."
- >Judy ran to him like she was shot out of a cannon, then wrapped her arms tightly around him and hugged with all her might.
- >"I was worried something had happened to you," she confessed.
- >Nick rubbed her between her ears and laughed again. He held up the bag.
- >"Last bottled in the whole city!" he proclaimed proudly.
- >She quickly pulled out the bottle and read the label.
- >"Senior Jose Hangover's Faux-Paign?" she said with obvious distaste.
- >"All they had," Nick said apologetically.
- >"'Keep away from children, pets, and open flame. Not for intentional use as an emetic.' Judy read aloud off the label.
- >"Nothing but the best for my Carrots!"
- >"You're still in trouble, you know. And where's my kiss?"
- >Nick lowered himself to his knees, then lowered his head.
- >"Not there!"
- >He did, anyway.
- >"Nicholas P. Wilde! Just because it's New Year's Eve doesn't mean you can take liberties!"
- >He took the liberty of another kiss, then sniffed.
- >"Wow, you really -have- missed me," he said.
- >"Get your nose out of my business!" an exasperated Judy said; "We're going to drink a toast to the New Year and then we're going to bed."
- >"That sounds fun!"
- >"And sleeping," Judy amended.
- -
- >"And once you think I'm asleep, you're going to sneak into the bathroom with your toy, only to find a certain fox hid the batteries."
- >Judy's eyes opened wide and Nick grinned knowingly.
- >"You're sleeping on the floor tonight."
- >"Another cold night on the floor," Nich faux-sighed and then said, "Let's open that bottle!"
- >Judy struggled for a moment, but was finally able to pop the cork. A miasma like a cross between paint thinner and swamp gas filled the room.
- >They both wrinked thier noses.
- >"You first," Judy said, offering Nick the bottle.
- >"Glasses?" Nick asked.
- >"I didn't do dishes tonight."
- >Nick shrugged and took a swig off the bottle. He screwed up his face as the high-test taste of fortified wine hit his tongue.
- >"How is it?" Judy asked.
- >"Wonderful," Nick coughed, then handed the bottle to Judy.
- >After an uncertain look, she upended the bottle and took a couple of big swallows.
- >Grimacing, she said, "That's terrible! But it beats carrot wine."
- >They passed the bottle back and forth, and Nick noticed that for every swallow he took, Judy took three.
- >"You're not going to make it to midnight at this rate, Fluff," he said.
- >After a half-hour, Judy felt absolutely fantastic.
- >"Wanna go to Sahara Square and watch the ball drop?" she asked.
- >"New Year's Eve is Amateur Drunk Night and half of Zootopia will be there. Remember how you almost got stepped on last year?"
- >Judy got down on all fours and crawled toward Nick.
- >"Ok, then. Do you want to stay here instead and watch my pants drop?" she asked coyly.
- >"I thought I was in trouble?"
- >"I'm granting you a New Year's Eve pardon."
- >"And you are a very buzzed bunny. I would feel like I was taking advantage of you."
- >Judy smiled keenly.
- >"You would be," she said and sashayed over to the bed.
- -
- >A few minutes later they were spooning.
- >Nick's paw down Judy's underwear. His touch was perfect, as it always was.
- >"10," Nick began to count down.
- >Judy writhed against the maddeningly precise touch of Nick's fingers.
- >"9"
- >She began to tremble, feeling the tension building.
- >"8"
- >Her breath came in short gasps and she spread her thighs wider.
- >"7"
- >All she knew was want: the want for Nick to never stop what he was doing, the want to feel this way forever.
- >"6"
- >She closed her eyes. His touch was everything now. Want became desire and desire became craving.
- >"5"
- >"Nick, don't stop. Oh god, don't stop!!"
- >"4"
- >She threw her head back and gasped before letting out a strained moan of unadulterated lust.
- >"3" he whispered soft as she began to tense up and shake.
- >"Oh Nick -- ohhh -- OHHHH!!!"
- >"2"
- >She thrashed her head from side to side and grabbed the covers in her tightly-clenched fists, panting Nick's name over and over.
- >"1"
- >"NICK!! OH NICK!!" -- the wave that hit her sent her reeling with mind-rending pleasure. It went on for what felt like an eternity: wave after breaking wave, leaving her shaking hard and cry out in passion.
- >All over Zootopia, fireworks went off with concussive thuds. Judy's fireworks out-blasted them all.
- >A warm nuzzle from her fox, and a soft whisper: "Happy New Year, Judy."
- >Panting, trembling, whimpering, she pushed back against Nick as he wrapped his arms around her.
- >He kissed the back of her head as she sighed herself blissfully to sleep.
- >The year was already off to a a great start.
- >"Happy 2022, Fluff."
