  10. VirtualDJ is a DJ software for PC
  11. It is used by DJs to replace their turntables and CD players, and use digital music instead of vinyl and CDs.
  12. In the same way that the CD players used by DJs have more options than a regular Hi-Fi CD player, VirtualDJ has more options than a simple media player like iTunes. It lets you "mix" your songs, by playing two or more tracks at the same time, adjust their relative speed so that their tempo will match, apply effects like loops etc, and crossfade from one side to the other. It also lets you scratch your songs, set and recall cues, and all the other regular features DJs expect to find to be able to mix.

  17. Mixing audio and video is the core function of VirtualDJ. The decks and mixers provide the tools required to seamlessly mix multiple files together.

  20. VirtualDJ has a video engine built right into the software for hassle free video mixing and karaoke use. Videos can be played directly in the decks or sampler, recorded, or edited in the Video Editor.

  23. VirtualDJ has a karaoke feature built-in for easily entertain with karaoke videos and lyrics on screen.
  24. The Karaoke feature is found in the SideView and offers a rotation manager to organize songs and singers in a list as well as provide commonly used Karaoke tools. The default view offers the Singer’s position in the rotation, the title and artist of the song, as well as the Singer’s name.

  27. Automix provides the ability to have a selection of files or playlists to play automatically. The Automix engine supports both audio and video files and can be found in the Side view area of the browser. Entry and exit points are automated by default, but can easily be repositioned in the POI Editor or completely customized to make that perfect mix in the Automix Editor.

  30. Your Media Library is the core of what you decide to load into the decks. VirtualDJ has an extensive browser in order for you to quickly find and organize your files. Files can be organized into specialized folders, tagged, moved and copied directly from the browser eliminating the need to open up other applications to manage your content.
  31. If you don't have a file in your library you can search online using the Content Unlimited service (subscription required) to find and instantly load that file to a deck and keep the party going.

  34. A wide range of hardware is supported by the software. Just about any sound card or controller can be used providing that the computer can see it. VirtualDJ supports the largest number of controllers on the market and even provides support for newer devices that may have been designed for other DJ applications.

  37. The sampler can play an unlimited number of samples simultaneously. Samples can be audio, video, or still images. Video samples can have alpha transparency. Samples can be organized by group and triggered like an instrument bank. Slots can be arranged on a grid, and have colors and icons.

  40. VirtualDJ provides the ability to record audio and video mixes, broadcast and create podcasts.
  41. Recording is a useful tool to share mixes with your friends or to listen to your mixes in order to critique yourself. Broadcasting and Pod casting features are also included in order to play an internet radio show or to automatically save your mixes online.

  44. With internet enabled, VirtualDJ offers a large selection of online tools that provide a wide range of features. You can receive requests from guests, stream content, create playlists that can be accessed from another computer or the internet, and get music suggestions based on what you are currently playing.
