- +bkershaccount __ It is not that the "flat Earth" or the "Mandela Effect" have certain features that are the same or dissimilar. It's not that they are true or not true. It is that they are *reflexively absurd* to "normal people" and when a reflexively absurd belief has been established that "real people [are perceived to] actually believe these things" they then provide an opportunity for charming scumbags (who command vastly larger audiences) like the "Armoured Skeptic" and "Neil deGrasse Tyson" to *repeat into reality* various suggestions that further contain and constrain the thoughts/beliefs/ideals/attitudes of "normal people". (With repetition - these suggestions impress upon "normal people" the thoughts/beliefs/attitudes that are required by the lie system).
- PS. I am sure any objection (i.e., attempted method of "falsification") you have to the "flat Earth" (e.g., "trigonometry") will have a "flat Earth" answer. Whether you find that "answer" satisfying or not is irrelevant. Besides - *you cannot falsify a fantasy*. Not without trusting and appealing to an "expert" of some kind. My point is that these ideas cannot be falsified without appealing to an "expert" - but you may have interpreted that differently as "cannot be falsified whatsoever".
- Furthermore - those who [genuinely] subscribe to the "flat Earth" idea (or the "Mandela Effect" or any other "reflexively absurd" idea) have already lost trust/faith in those "experts" who would be able to falsify it. So it's left to the individual _and they may not be able to do it for themselves._
