- how to freeze
- #1 stop their minions running into your tower, bait them into bushes, or hard tank the damage
- #2 help their minions push into you, group them up by aggroing them and moving the casters together so they focus fire,
- use bushes, always minimum hit and don't thin the wave
- 3-4 minion rule, need to have 3-4 full health minions outside your tower to have the
- freeze be succesful and have the minions last until their next red wave
- When to freeze = always in neutral situations, aka always except if one of their players is dead
- or you are very ahead and getting chip damage. Only push if you can't freeze
- To begin freeze, let opponent thin your minion wave faster than you are thinning theirs,
- aka minimum hit their minions and let your opponent walk up and thin yours
- If your opponent is pushing really hard and you are unconfident in waveclear, thin their wave slightly
- so their wave has a 1-2 minion advantage, most of the time they won't be pushing that
- ultra hard but sometimes they will
- IMPORTANT, make sure your opponent isn't pushing so hard that they "get the wave under your tower," aka bounce the wave.
- Don't let them bounce the wave, recognise the
- amount of waveclear they can apply and thin the wave
- earlier to 1-2 minions to prevent the bounce.
- This is hard :(
- Don't tank too much damage
- Freezes never last forever, 1-3 waves of freeze is good and most common due to faster replenishment because past mid
- After Freeze is broken, the idea is to "reset" by crashing into their tower and bouncing, aka having your minion wave cleared fast by their tower so wave goes back to mid. This usually involves fast pushing
- built up minion wave from a freeze.
- How to start a bounce
- Get your minion wave massively larger than yours. 8+ minions
- Zone them off your massive wave and force them back, use wave advantage to win trades
- How to make your wave big
- #1 transition out of soft freeze, step 1 you are just in front of your turret with a big minion wave built from your minions surviving
- #2 Identify the end of the freeze, see your minion wave crash into the old minion wave
- #3 SLOW PUSH, last hit minions at the last moment, very last moment, this makes the slow push SLOW
- #4 This gives you time for your next wave to hit your current "wave and a half" aka your old minions and wave 1
- #5 once you have your original survivors from wave and a half reinforced by wave two, start hard pushing
- #6 mega shove, hard push, if you need a guide to hard push...
- #7, switching from slow push to hard push when wave 2 hits, INCREDIBLY hard and a bigass point of failure.
- Have to know exactly when to switch from slow push to hard push.
- Don't initiate a trade, if you initiate a trade that means you don't hard push enough, or rather, make sure you hard push and trade.
- Easy to exploit a player who "wants to hard push" by trading with him," because if he fucks up the hard push the wave freezes for you :)
- If you have the "new wave crashing into old wave which has survivors from previous wave condition" hard push and bounce the wave and reset
- If you have zone on your opponent and control of the wave because they won't approach, you can slow push, get the new wave crashing, then hard push for a bounce
- Just push hard enough
- Can "reset" and slow push to assemble a big wave at any time,
- NB, if you bounce & reset a wave, their minions will be clumped.
- If their minions are clumped, then they will naturally push towards you
- This sets up a freeze
- Reset vs bounce
- a reset is when the waves go back to neutral in middle
- a bounce is where you clump their minions under their tower, and have their wave push towards you, potentially setting up a freeze.
- both conditions are the same, always minimum hit unless they react to your minimum hits and start hard pushing, then hard push
- when you have a built up wave to try and bounce your wave off their tower
- Can't really control reset vs bounce so just have to observe what happens
