Illuminated Dev 4: Hina's first prayer

[12:16] You knocked on the door of Sandsker's Residence
[12:20] Svengalf Sandsker exclaims, "Oh hey Hina !"
[12:20] Svengalf Sandsker asks, "How are you ?"
[12:21] Hina Lam says, "Hey, Sven - I was hoping to talk to you about stuff I've been doing lately, and about the Illuminated faith, uh- whenever you're done with Acero."
[12:22] Hina Lam exclaims, "But I'm doing better than usual! Been doing a lot of things lately!"
[12:22] Hina Lam smiles excitedly!
(Hina Lam)
[12:22] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Oh ! I am glad to hear ! It's nice to see you smiling again."
[12:22] Svengalf Sandsker smiles, reaching her for a pat on her shoulder.
(Svengalf Sandsker)
[12:22] Svengalf Sandsker says, "And accordingly, I also wanted to meet you to teach you how to prepare prayers."
[12:22] Acero says, "I'll get going, thanks Sven"
[12:22] Hina Lam laughs at the motion.
(Hina Lam)
[12:22] Svengalf Sandsker says, "I already did it with Arista and Akkor last day."
[12:23] Acero says, "I got another message"
[12:23] Hina Lam exclaims, "This is perfect then!"
[12:23] Svengalf Sandsker asks, "You're welcome Acero, take care, and stay safe, alright ?"
[12:23] Acero says, "Yeah we will talk about it later"
[12:23] Acero waves to the fox and the lapine and smiles

[12:23] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Sure thing."
[12:23] Acero says, "Adiós"
[12:23] Svengalf Sandsker exclaims, "Bye !"
[12:24] Hina Lam side eyes Acero walking off. It's easily noted the shift in her demeanor towards his presence.

[12:24] Svengalf Sandsker asks, "So... what have you been up to lately?"
[12:24] Hina Lam glances back to Sven. Her smile does return to him!
(Hina Lam)
[12:25] Hina Lam says, "Well, I did my first ritual of the Illuminated! I was uh.. hoping you could help me with the second one. It'll be.. risky, but.."
[12:25] Hina Lam averts her gaze some, and fiddles with her fingers.
(Hina Lam)
[12:25] Hina Lam whispers: It does involve the Fantasia.
[12:26] Svengalf Sandsker asks, "Oh ! I didn't know you started it. Good to hear then. Did you succeed in it ?"
[12:26] Svengalf Sandsker whispers: And I see.
[12:26] Hina Lam exclaims, "I did! Meditation in the middle of a body of water, exposed to the elements of the sun, from dawn to dusk. Eivor was there to watch it!"
[12:26] Hina Lam says, "But.. he can't be here for this one, for- you know, obvious reasons."
[12:26] Hina Lam laughs rather nervously.
(Hina Lam)
[12:26] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Ha... I see."
[12:26] Svengalf Sandsker nods.
(Svengalf Sandsker)
[12:26] Svengalf Sandsker says, "And seems like this meditation was relaxing."
[12:27] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Glad if you have found peace within yourself."
[12:27] Hina Lam says, "It was! Very enlightening."
[12:27] Hina Lam intended that pun.

[12:27] Svengalf Sandsker exclaims, "I can see the results indeed !"
[12:27] Hina Lam nods her head happily.

[12:27] Svengalf Sandsker chuckles.

[12:27] Svengalf Sandsker asks, "Do you want to start with the prayer lesson first ? Or first with your ritual ?"
[12:28] Hina Lam says, "Mmh, the prayer lesson first, please! "
[12:28] Svengalf Sandsker asks, "Alright. Let's head to Solais if it's not too busy?"
[12:29] Hina Lam says, "I feel that focus will be rather difficult after the ritual, so the lesson first."
[12:29] Hina Lam exclaims, "Sure!"
[12:29] Svengalf Sandsker says, "I see."
[12:29] Svengalf Sandsker smiles.

[12:29] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Come along, I will teach you the same subject that I did with Akkor and Arista."
[12:29] Hina Lam says, "I can tell you all about the ritual once the lesson is done. "
[12:29] Hina Lam follows along happily.

[12:30] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Alright. Take seat, and relax."
[12:30] Svengalf Sandsker smiles, as he sits on a root.

[12:30] Hina Lam opts to take a seat before Solais and the Lapine!

[12:33] The lapine nods,

"Now that you are baptized in the name of the Silver Constant of Life, Alacritas, you may have felt something opening in your being. Like a tether being established to somewhere, right ?

I know you are a faithfull of Jiuweihu, but since we are both baptized towards Alacritas, I wanted to know : how do you feel when you are praying to Alacritas?

If you can't answer such, you could try then to explain how you feel when praying to Jiuweihu."

[12:38] She'll nod, crossing her legs and adjusting the silvery cowl around her little form.

How did she feel when it came to praying?

The little teenager taps a finger to her chin, though she doesn't take very long whatsoever to reply to his inquiry regarding prayers to his deity, or her own.

"Mhm! I did feel the sensation of the baptism in me under Lady Alacritas' guidance." She smiles some, glancing up towards the height of Solais' trailing the trunk and taking view of the beautiful canopy of leaves above them.

"I can't say I have prayed to her, though, but I have prayed to Jiuweihu." A nod then, and she glimpses towards Sven.

"I feel empowered when I pray to Jiuweihu. Mmh, in a way, it's like feeling less alone? If that makes sense. I feel connected to her, as one of her children. Like she's watching me, sort of motherly. I feel a sense of peace when talking to her."

[12:45] The lapine smiles and nods. Relaxed. His hand rubs over a root, feeling the energy under the bark.

"Mh. As much as I am not familiar with Jiuweihu unfortunately, I can attempt making some guesses. I can indeed see you are devoted to her, but like you mentionned in your baptism, you wanted to learn how to connect with the divines, right ?"

He chuckles, as he nods.

"So. From what you felt, I suppose that Jiuweihu helps empowering, warming someone's soul with a blazing passion. This may be one of her tenets, right ?
Along with this motherly gaze similar to Alacritas, I do suppose this is a tenet then we have in common !
And in the end, inner peace with itself.

This sounds promising then. Even if we may worship different divinities, many tenets can be found in common between them. After all, The Constants' tenets are universal forces that many may tap into. And undoubtly, Jiuweihu may be taping into Life and Hope together too."

He smiles to her direction. There was no judgement, only admiration and understanding. Altough he raises a finger.

"Be reassured altough, I am not judging or doing baised proselytism. I just want to explain how important understand your divinity's tenets are important when you are preparing a prayer to someone else."

[12:50] Tristinia gives a friendly wave to Sven.
(Tristinia)
[12:52] "Yup!" The answer is brief and to the point, but happily spoken! Hina's attentive to Sven's speech all the way through, giving occasional glances towards his actions, towards Solais, or to just the man himself.

A nod to his question about the tenets of the Sun deity; her principles were quite traditional, though ordinary compared to other faith precepts.

However, at the last semblance of his words, she cants her head curiously. "Oh, I wouldn't think you'd do that, but I understand where you're coming from, I promise!" A dip of her head adds another layer of confirmation to her statement.

She didn't believe he'd be one to sway her towards the faith of Lady Alacritas, but the Kitsune was very perceptive to their faith, and her own, respectably.

"I'm always willing to learn whatever you're teaching, Sven," a light laugh then accompanied with yet another nod! "Especially when it comes to prayers and understanding how to do them properly."

[12:57] The lapine waves one hand towards Tristinia, as he holds a letter on the other hand.

He smiles, sitting on the root, in front of the Young Kitsune in front of him. He was listening to her answer. It seems like both were in the middle of teaching. He nods at first

"Alright, I am relieved to hear !"

He widens his smile, a concern lifted.

"And of course, I am glad to help others in such subject. Altough, hang on a bit."

His attention returns towards Tristinia.

"Hello Tristinia ! Just received your letter right now.

I am sorry you lost the biddings… hopefully next time, there is a better chance…"

He pouts a little, empathic, before continuing :

"As for the potions, I would love to help you of course. Altough ! Would you like if it was Hina here present that would make them ? She is one of my initiates, also one of my medical students if you remember ! And also she wanted to learn alchemy from me, so this may be the occasion for it."

His attention returns to Hina, with a knowing smile.

"What do you think ?"

[12:59] Hina Lam waves to Tristinia!
(Hina Lam)
[13:00] Hina Lam also nods her head to Sven! "Sure, I wouldn't mind helping with that if it's okay with you both!" She was quite content and excited - so many new things to learn!

[13:01] She looks a little bit surprised, before looking over at the student, a warm smile spreading across her features.

"No, I don't mind at all. If she's not yet a master alchemist, this can provide her the raw experience she needs to really get a jump start on things." She admits, rolling her shoulders.

"Heavens know I've ben there before, just needing someone to give me my initial push so I can get going." She admits.

[13:04] The lapine chuckles, enthusiast !

"Well, Hina, you can get a glimpse at how it feels to be busy when you get old later…", as he snickers on these words.

"Mmh. How much free time do you have today, Tristinia ? I was teaching her how to prepare and cast prayers upon others. Perhaps if you need a prayer, she could try to provide you one ?
Then we can talk about your potions."

He returns then back to Hina.

"What do you prefer we talk first ?"

[13:04] Tristinia seems to be writing a letter when she looks up and... Lets out a light laugh.
(Tristinia)
[13:05] Svengalf Sandsker offers a little wave towards Tamerath, smiling !
(Svengalf Sandsker)
[13:05] Tristinia says, "Congratulations, you found one of the cities I fequent."
[13:05] Svengalf Sandsker exclaims, "Hello !"
[13:05] Svengalf Sandsker asks, "Looking for something ?"
[13:05] Tristinia says, "But I live in Dawnstone."
[13:05] Tamerath Aubreen flicks the brim of her hat, offering him a nod.

[13:06] Tamerath Aubreen says, "Hello, hello. Aaand, ah... Dawnstone, that makes sense."
[13:06] Tamerath Aubreen says, "I haven't actually visited it."
[13:07] Tristinia says, "And I would be open, Sven. I'm not averse to helping the next generation learn the skills they need."
[13:07] Svengalf Sandsker chuckles, beckoning her then.

[13:07] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Then come, take a sit near Solais, and relax."
[13:07] Tristinia snorts as she overhears something.
(Tristinia)
[13:07] Tristinia says, "Certainly."
[13:08] Svengalf Sandsker whispers: He is a close friend of Hina, and he was looking for someone preaching Ualdir to help him.
[13:10] Svengalf Sandsker offers a little giggle towards Tristinia in between some whispers.
(Svengalf Sandsker)
[13:10] To get a glimpse of what it felt to be busy - the girl didn't mind it, truly, especially while she still suffered the dulling effects of reality under the opposing sensations of Fantasia.

This was quite an opportunity for her, or so she believed! To keep herself and her mind busy was quite nice.

"I don't mind the business, actually," she says, happily glancing back to Sven. "It's nice to not be idle and doing nothing," she states, smiling widely. The girl didn't approve of stagnancy despite her own circumstances, so learning more and pushing herself was the way to go, especially after her run-in with Indulgence some time ago.

"I don't mind whichever! I'm happy to help Tristinia and learn at the same time!" Declared excitedly, the girl pops up from the ground, spinning around towards the Priestess below.

"Not a master yet- just a novice of the art of alchemy, really." A larger smile is offered to her then! This was the woman who'd met her closest friend, Eivor. "Oh! But, my friend told me you both finally got to meet! His name is Eivor!" The girl was far too excited to contain herself, almost prancing around in place!

"He said you and your sword were pretty badass." A giggle given then, and she'll settle herself then, glancing towards Sven. "Ready whenever, for whatever then! Alchemy, praying, I don't mind!"

[13:11] Tristinia snorts in amusement briefly.
(Tristinia)
[13:11] Tristinia says, "I am always delighted that people remember Renewal so well."
[13:11] Svengalf Sandsker says, "It's truly an unique piece of work for sure."
[13:13] Svengalf Sandsker says, "And then, let's quickly set for the prayer , Hina, I will teach you the last two remaining bits."
[13:14] Altair says, "How long were you gone, Niemh? I, uh, lost track."
[13:14] She nods, though, looking to Hina. "Well... Let me explain what I need alchemy wise. It's quite simple, luckily enough. I have two children that are about to become old enough to take such things as boosters and such, so I'm wanting to get a batch of those made for each of them. It's still a few months out, so I was being proactive since I know a full set of fifty for each is uh."

She searches for the words, before settling on... "Annoying."

She looks, then, to Solais, placing a hand on the tree.

"As for the prayer... I don't mind at all. I'm fond of Alacritas, though my faith is in Ualdir."
(Tristinia)
[13:15] Altair asks, "... how old are you now, Arnet?"
[13:17] Altair says, "It was six years!? I thought it was more like... 2 or 3."
[13:18] Altair says, "Time flies by."
[13:20] Altair says, "Oh, no. I don't think so."
[13:24] The lapine listens to the Kitsune, nodding.

"True. There is no rest for the pious after all. We can't allow ourselves to be lazy. Even if sometimes, I wish I could take one day to slack… ". A little exhale from the nose, as he nods.

He catches his breath, then resumes.

"So, as you understand your divinity's tenets, it is also in your responsability to know what the person wants to pray for. Ideally, it must be in the goal that matches your divinity's tenets. You can't pray for peace for someone who is war torn, but you can at least try to nudge something from them. Even the most war torn person, can feel this desire for their family to be in peace for example, and pray for their safety.

In your case for Jiuweihu, you could try to match with this burning passion to revigorate someone... something that is also close to Tristinia's beliefs in Ualdir, mmh ?" He offers a smile towards Tristinia, as he continues.

"When you are both set on the tenets you want to pray, then you must focus within yourself to call upon your divinity. And to do this, we reach through the Lifestream."

He looks towards Solais, as he rubs one of the green glowing leylines.

"This is why we are close to Solais. It's a convergence point for the Lifestream, like the stars in the cosmos. This is why often, prayers are stronger in places where the Lifestream is at its peak of power. Like the stars, or a place rich in life in the nature."

He nods.

"As you may know perhaps, the Lifestream was created by Alacritas and Nyssa together. It is the source of all Life, along with the Souls and Nature in the world. Imagine like, an infinite flow of invisible positive energies that sustains the world around us. Without the Lifestream, there would be no nature, no life, no souls, no spirits at all."

He smiles.

"As you prepare then your prayer, focus on the warmth that Solais provides : a glimpse of the Lifestream. Call upon your divinity to reach her, then tell what do you want to pray for Tristinia after she explains what she needs. And if the contact in between you three is successfully made, Tristinia's essence will react to the divinity, and her belief will be responded back to you through some specific, cultivated energy : Faith."

He holds one hand on his chest, withdrawing an orb of glowing silvery lights, with pink strands flowing.

"Faith, is like energy from the Lifestream who has been personnified towards a divinity. It holds the belief of one essence into a divinity, and it holds a glimpse of their tenets. You can't cultivate faith yourself, as it depends on other's essence to reflect upon your divinity. And with this energy, you can then prepare some more elaborate prayers, like seal to contain the Evil."

He absorbs back this orb of light, nodding.

"Do you have any questions ? If not, feel free to start asking Tristinia if she needs a prayer, and for what she wishes for."

[13:27] Tamerath Aubreen leans into the nearby pillar, arms folded beneath her chest. She watches the proceedings in quiet, but with patient, vested interest. A polite and quiet observer.

[13:27] Tristinia smiles at Tamerath. She hasn't been forgotten!
(Tristinia)
[13:39] To Sven's words, she'll let out a light laugh, and to Tristinia's own? An understanding nod. "Material collecting can be a tedious thing, but I don't mind helping you out at all to set your two kids up!" Truly, she was quite content with the nature of the inquiry; helping the generation of her own, the ones above hers, and the ones that come after was an ambition the little teenager had!

"I also have some stuff of my own that I can use to help lessen the load of getting whatever materials it'll take to make the potions." A nod to end that semblance of conversation, paid forth towards Sven now.

His speech rolls in, she turns, placing herself back on the ground below the canopy of Solais and remaining attentive, taking note of each portion of the prayer he'll offer advice for.

Her head cants towards Tristinia when Sven mentions her beliefs in Ualdir. To match one's own deity tenets to that of the person they pray for seemed easy enough, right?

Her smile dims some, however, when Sven does mention what life would be like without the ever sustaining lifestream of Eternia - no nature, no life, no spirits whatsoever; quite a daunting thought to process, but regardless of her feelings, she inclines her head, understanding how significant the Lifestream was to their prayers in connectivity of the divines above.

It is then she scrutinizes the silvery lights laced with a pink hue grasped from his chest, further listening to his explanation. A cant of her head, still - it was a lot to take in, almost a bit overwhelming, in fact, but she is quiet then, just aiming to process ALL of that information!

"As one baptized under Lady Alacritas, does it mean my prayer should refer to her, or.. as a devotee of Jiuweihu, to our Sun instead?" It was a curious question, as she was new to this sort of thing! To call upon the divinities was enormous, and she was struggling to wrap her head around it!

Despite this, the girl turns towards the Priestess nearby, smiling, and she'll inquire Sven's prompt somewhat nervously and awkwardly, "Do you need a prayer, Tristinia?" Assuming so, Hina will add, "What is it that you wish for under Ualidr?" Was that the right thing to ask? Hina wasn't sure, and her demeanor changes some, glancing towards Sven for help!

[13:42] Tristinia's gaze turns towards the young kitsune, her eyes sparkling with slight amusement. She doesn't seem at all bothered by the differing faith... After all, Ualdir had fought in the divine war over in those lands, along with the phoenixes.

"As far as what I would pray for... Right now, my priorities are on my family. For them to grow strong and well. I suppose the only other major thing on my mind is... Communication." Her eyes become briefly distant, and there's a sigh.

"Making my intentions known clearly, without miscommunication. I'm bad at letting myself be understood, and it's... Cost me dearly, in the past."

She smiles, then, seeming to consider things, how to best phrase things. "In these moments... Something like this, if you are praying for someone and they're less vague than me, but you know their faith? I'd do something like... With an Ualdir worshipper... Praying for their growth. But direct your prayers to your own faith. -You- have a connection to your own divine, don't intercede on behalf of other gods."

[13:51] The lapine listens to her. That was perhaps a bit too much at once !

Then his attention turns towards Tristinia, listening to what she needs. There is a little nod in understanding.

He returns towards Hina to quickly adds with an amused smile, touched by how she is curious and cautious in her learnings.

"While you are baptized under Alacritas' church, you can indeed pray for which divinity you feel closer and at peace. You mentionned you were comfortable with Alacritas too, like how Tristinia is too. It's because some tenets between divinites can be found in common.
Life is a very broad term, in which Jiuweihu and Ualdir have some tenets in common with.
As long as you both are in harmony with the tenets of each other, it helps in making the prayer compatible. And specially, you must tap into a divinity in which you have the knowledge of their tenets too." On this end, he nods towards Tristinia. He returns back to Hina.

"For example, Jiuweihu grants you the courage, like how Ualdir encourages people to improve themselves. You can attempt to pray for this tenet in common, for Jiuweihu to grant her blessing upon Tristinia to lend this newfound blazing passion and courage."

He regains a smile.

"This is why it is possible for Faith to be transfered in between two priests of different divinities, as long this faith is a tenet they share in common.

Is it clear for now ? Do you have any other quesitons?"
(Svengalf Sandsker)
[13:59] That gaze upon Tristinia is observing, and her demeanor is friendly despite the nature of the situation - a bit of pressure, which Hina wasn't usually good under in some circumstances, but she'll listen regardless, nodding all the while.

Her priorities were of family - for them to grow strong, prosper, and remain well. The principles of family standards under the faith of the Illuminated were ones to uphold. The path of a family was important. Forgoing such was something to be looked down upon under the guidance of Jiuweihu.

"Got it, then. I'll have to learn a lot of other faiths here on Meranthe then so I can align the tenets with my own," Hina nods. At least, that is what she grasped from it, especially Tristinia's latter explanation, which the Kitsune takes wholeheartedly and wouldn't step on the boundaries of - for anyone.

And her attention shifts towards Sven as he continues, idly listening to his answer to her question. Principles of the divines did overlap some, but she'd not mind it, truly.

She understood the notion of how a prayer was to work now - to align the stars of belief under their particular divines and pray in them for the other party.

As she's seen Sven's own prayers many times before, Hina felt somewhat more confident that she could do this, then!

"That's much more clear! I don't think I have any more questions at this time though, but-" She pauses briefly, glancing between them both. "-I'm open to any more advice if any is necessary to know of." A smile offered, and she falls silent, allowing either of them to bestow on her more advice if they had any!
(Hina Lam)
[14:00] Tristinia whispers something.
[14:03] The lapine nods towards Hina, smiling.

"This is why communication in between both can help you find which tenets you can pray for them, even with different faiths.
It's difficult for me to pray for someone who wishes to win their war against another human settlement, without them to understand Life's tenets."

He pouts a little.

"Otherwise, I have Nothing else to say, you can start channeling upon your divinity and pray for Tristinia, if she is ready."

He offers a smile to her.

"Remember, open yourself to the Lifestream. Call upon your divinity, and pray for which tenets you want to bless upon Tristinia. Inspire yourself at how I have done for you."
(Svengalf Sandsker)
[14:04] Svengalf Sandsker whispers: All good there ? I hope it's not too long !
[14:07] She smiles between the two, chuckling just a bit. "I'm not wholly familiar with the tenets of your faith, but we should be able to find common ground. I don't think anyone who found their way to working with Sven would be the type to dislike thoughts of family and growth, after all. Go ahead... Should be easy enough."

[14:07] Svengalf Sandsker snickers, amused and touched by her compliment.
(Svengalf Sandsker)
[14:09] Svengalf Sandsker says, "Don't worry about it. She is one of my initiates after all, so I trust in her beliefs."
[14:28] To Sven's words and his pouting, she'll giggle some. She understood that praying for one who's ambitions were not tied to faith could be difficult, or so she perceived it to be - at least ambitions that didn't truly have some sort of common ground with the principles of a faith, especially one's own.

And to Tristinia, Hina will approach, giggling further at her words. "Jiuweihu's principles are mostly about the importance of family and upholding kindness, respect, and understanding to your fellow people. There's more to it, but that's really just the basics of her tenets."

Another laugh as she glances to Sven, speaking towards Tristinia to bounce off of her words regarding familial matters, "Sven's like another dad to me, so-" Her blue eyes trail back to Tristinia, "-that statement isn't wrong at all!" She speaks happily, opting to settle herself then and ponder how to go about her prayer.

A hand is held to the Ualdir's priestess' forehead - not particularly touching it so, there is some distance - but it is there regardless. Hina's eyes close, and a subtle warmth emanates from her little statured person, attempting to connect with the divines of Jiuweihu and open herself up to the Lifestream to bestow upon Tristinia a prayer.

That warmth of the Kitsune's natural affinity strengthens a tad, allowing the passion of kindness of her intangible ambiance to seep towards that palm, as if instilling Tristinia with it - that mana flows in to surround her temple.

"Jiuweihu, Lady of our Sun,

I call upon you now to help me instill Tristinia with strength, with courage, and with passion in order to defeat any doubts within herself and to protect those that are dear to her.

Invoke her with happiness and joy in these times that she may need under yours and Ualdir's guidance. Protect her so that she may overcome these trials she'll face."

A light, orange glow forms around the little Kitsune's hand the more she'll focus on that prayer. The glow is brief, but the feeling is welcome, friendly, and warm in all manners.

[14:28] Hina Lam prays for Tristinia.
[14:35] She's been prayed for many times over the years, though this is, perhaps, the first time she's been used to teach someone how to pray. It's a bit amusing to her, her lips twisting up into a light and teasing smile.

"You did very well, Hina." She says after everything, nodding to herself. She can feel the way the lifestream flows into her at this point... The prayer successful.

"It'll come more naturally over time, I assure you. I'm glad of your help." She smiles then to Svengalf.

"Should we relocate to your home or the like, then, to start in on the potions though?" She asks, breathing a bit easier with the empowering prayer.
