  1. Broken... It was... Broken.
  2. Leandro could practically feel the blood drain from his face. He'd heard the noise, but he could never have predicted anything this horrible. Falling to his knees, long slender fingers searched for shattered keys amongst the mess of boards and strings. Faint whispers of "no" and "this is just a bad dream" escaped his shaking lips as he gathered them up. His hands were covered in cuts and splinters within the minute, but he couldn't even feel it.
  3. "It's going to be okay mother... You'll be whole again in no time..."
  4. Breathless whispers, pointless whispered. The keys were shattered. She would never be whole again.
  5. He laughed.
  6.
  7. She hadn't thought he'd be that upset.
  8. She just wanted to punish him for stealing her favourite bunny plush. With a terrified look on her face, Victoria's grip on the sledgehammer hardened. She wasn't crying, she hadn't been wrong. But to see the man who was usually smirking and talking to people with words she couldn't understand, ruin his pretty new pants and dig through a mess of boards with a look of absolute fear in his eyes...
  9. It terrified even her.
  10.
  11. When Fabrizio opened the door it was already too late.
  12. He'd heard the noise, the scream. But he hadn't seen it.
  13. The first thing he saw when he got to them was the mess of wood, piano keys and blood. The second thing was Victoria.
  14. The corpse of the little girl was barely recognizable. Her face had been bashed in so bad it was nothing but a bloody mess at this point, pieces of brain and shattered skull poking out. If it hadn't been for her dress he would never have guessed it was her.
  15. He had to turn away or he'd throw up.
  16.
  17. A cold hand was placed on Fabrizio's shoulder not long after he'd turned around. A familiar voice whispered something, but the words had no meaning. They were only fragments of what he thought was meant to be a sentence.
  18. "What did you do, Leandro... For God's sake... She was barely six..."
  19. He turned to look at his older brother, but the sight terrified him. Fabrizio had seen Leandro kill people before, but never like this. There was blood and pieces of brain splattered on his shirt, the left hand still clutched around a sledgehammer. He could see the cuts on Leandro's hands, the splinters poking out from his fingertips.
  20. But it was his eyes that terrified Fabrizio the most. Red from what he assumed was crying, his whole face was a mask of grief.
  21. "S-she... She killed mother."
  22. It took Leandro several tries to squeeze the words out past his trembling lips and when he finally managed to speak Fabrizio was taken aback. Their mother had been lost for many years... Didn't... Didn't Leandro know that? He'd walked in on his brother holding her corpse all those years ago... So why?
  23. He had too many questions. But for the moment... there were more important things to take care off. If Leandro was going to lose it he'd rather see to it that he lost it somewhere without weapons.
