  1. Sandcastle Builder FAQ/Guide
  2. I'm sorry I'm so shit at this
  3.
  4. NOTICE, IF YOU'RE JUST STARTING, IT'S BEST TO GO INTO OPTIONS AND "MOLPY DOWN" (RESET) IMMEDIATELY (you might have to wait until NP 4 or 5 first?) TO GAIN ACCESS TO TIME TRAVEL. DON'T ASK WHY, YOU'LL FIND OUT LATER. ALSO, YOU DON'T UNLOCK IT UNTIL NP 4. DON'T BE AFRAID IF IT DOESN'T APPEAR RIGHT AWAY.

  12. USE THE WIKI AT YOUR OWN RISK. I AM NOT LIABLE FOR YOU CONTRACTING SEVERE CASES OF AUTISM AND ASPERGERS THROUGH VISITING IT (the boosts page is completely safe though, even if it's shit)
  13.
  14. What do all of these words mean? (I didn't write this, copied it from some random anon in a thread)
  15.
  16. newPix: the frame. it changes once every half hour
  17. milliNewPix or mNP: 1/1000 of the time it takes for a new newPix to show up. slightly less than 2 seconds in length.
  18. ONG: the moment the frame changes. during an ONG, newpixbot timers reset, castle tools destroy and build castles, and the sand needed for castles resets.
  19. ninja: after an ONG, newpixbots start making castles, if you click the picture before they finish, you get none of their castles, that is a ninja.
  20. stealth: if you allow the newpixbots to finish making castles, and then click the frame before the next ONG, it begins a stealth streak. you will get a castle, there are upgrades associated with it, and there are badges associated with it. Make sure to lose your streak once between 30-35 to get all badges and upgrades for it (NOTICE: NOT CLICKING WILL INDEED CANCEL YOUR STEALTH STREAK, YOU HAVE TO CLICK IF YOU WANT TO KEEP IT)
  21.
  22. What do I buy!?!?
  23. Castles tools are almost your sole source of Castles for the very early game, but don't neglect your sand tools either. You'll need a lot of sand to buy upgrades, and you get upgrades later on that improve the usefulness of sand in making castles. Make sure you aim to buy 14 of ALL tools first, starting with sand tools as their price increases much slower than Castle Tools. At 14 of an item, you unlock a boost that will double your NewPixBot production (it doubles whatever the previous value was) and quadruples whatever item it relates to (14 buckets quadruples buckets, 14 rivers quadruples rivers etc).
  24.
  25. What are Redundakittens?
  26. Redundakittens are almost exactly the same thing as Golden Cookies, with a few different effects. The two most common are "You are not lucky" which is basically a "lucky" cookie, it gives you castles, and then "blitzing" which acts a frenzy (800% sand dig multiplier, you can increase this multiplier later on. Eventually, once you click a total of 32 Kittens, you unlock the Department of Redundancy Department (DORD) which gives you new possible boosts like "Double or Nothing" and "Affordable Swedish Home Furniture" (reduces all shop prices by 60% for a few mNP), as well as a variety of useful upgrades. Make sure you buy all kitten upgrades, as they eventually begin to spawn once every ~30-80 seconds.
  27.
  28. NOTE: Redundakittens can spawn in any shop/badge area there is. Even badge areas that you have hidden. You can tell what tab a Redundakitten is hidden under by looking at it's icon. If it's two little kitten heads, there is a Redundakitten in that tab.
  29.
  30. What is Judgement Dip?
  31. Judgement Dip is sort of the Grandmapocalypse of Sandcastle Builder. When it starts, your NewPixBots will begin to destroy one castle every mNP. As you advance in "Judgement Dip levels" (which increase every time NewPixBots activate) your NPB will destroy one extra castle every mNP and at certain JD levels, you will unlock boosts assuming you meet the requirements. These boosts are EXTREMELY powerful, and multiply the production of your castles tools by the amount of NPB you have. Make sure you don't extend too much farther past JD level 12, as that is where the last upgrade lies, the NewPixNavigation Code (which lets you end the Judgement Dip, just don't use it right away)
  32.
  33. How do I control Judgement Dip?
  34. The best way is through time travel, which allows you to move back and forth freely between NP (as long as you have visited that NP previously without the use of time travel. If you want to advance past the early NP where JD doesn't activate, your best bet is going to be through the use of NewPixNavigation code which will end the Judgement Dip at the cost of all of your intruders and almost completely stopping their castle production. This isn't as big of a deal as it sounds because by the time you are actually using the Navigation Code NewPixBots will essentially be worthless and destroying more than they make anyways, so it doesn't change much. DO NOT BUY BAG BURNING, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! IT'S TOTAL SHIT
  35.
  36. I'M NOT MAKING ANY CASTLES AND EVERYTHING COSTS TOO MANY CASTLES EVEN WITH JUDGEMENT DIP AND 14 OF EVERYTHING, HOW DO I GIT GUD?!!?!!?!?!
  37. There are numerous amounts of awesome and interesting boosts that have neat synergies with all sorts of items. Many times you can increase your output tenfold by just investing more into your sand tools which (with the right boosts) add on to your castle output. A few notable early synergy boosts are Sandbag, Throw Your Toys, and Balancing Act.
  38.
  39. Click Redundakittens.
  40. With the right boost, every 9 Redundakitten click will give you 1 additional castle on your NewPixBots. This doesn't sound like much, but remember that every base castle your NewPixBots are building is multiplied by 1024 from the JD upgrades. it really adds up over time (in the early game). Kittens in general are just a really good idea to click. An upgrade later on boost the multiplier from blitzing by 20% every kitten clicked after it was bought, which allows for massive exploitation of the blast furnace to make shitloads of castles.
  41.
  42. Blast Furnace
  43. Eventually, once you get the "Blixtnedslag Kattungar, JA!" upgrade (which adds 20% blitzing multiplier every kitten click) you'll find that your sand income will begin to get out of control extremely fast. It's incredibly easy to completely outpace your castles from Castle Tools by farming up sand and either getting lucky or savescumming for a Blast Furnace when you have a ton of banked sand.
  44.
  45. What is a Temporal Rift and how do I get one?
  46. I have absolutely no idea how or what causes them (naturally, at least). All I know is that they're extremely rare and unlock time travel if you didn't already have it. No, it's not a good way to get time travel if you don't have it as no one seems to know how to produce one (other than logicat rewards). That is why it's recommended to reset immediately to gain access to it without losing anything. Also, when Temporal Rifts happen you'll be thrown around in "time" (get sent to a different NP) and lose castles. These lost castles count towards your Flux Turbine multiplier the same way that resetting would, making it so you don't have to reset to increase the multiplier.
  47.
  48. What do I use time travel for?
  49. 1. NewPixBot "Intruders". Basically, when you time travel there is a chance that you will get an "intruder" NewPixBot, which basically acts as a free NewPixBot. They have no other real effect. Be sure to manage your intruders well, there is a cap of somewhere around 30-40 of them, so it's best to sell all your intruders off every now and then as your castle income rises and buy more non-intruders with your increased bank. Otherwise you'll find yourself paying ridiculous amounts of castles for each them (not recommended.)
  50.
  51. 2. Controlling Judgement Dip by staying at a NP where it isn't active. Doesn't work if you want to advance to a NP far in, like the longpix areas (NP 240+). This might be a bad idea as it makes it a pain to get to LongPix when you need to, so it might be better to just stick it out until you unlock frames that high. The losses aren't that high, and if they are you can just use the Navigation Code and you should be fine.
  52.
  53. 3. Manipulating "Swim Between the Flags" to be only on odd frames, so that you get the castle output multiplied every time and never the destruction. (yes, odd was not a typo, you want to advance to an even frame when it activates, rather than BE on an even frame) One thing to note is that if your bank is high enough, you might lose more from time traveling than you would gain if you got the production bonus.
  54.
  55. 4. Badges, upgrades, etc. Just stuff it unlocks through it's repeated use.
  56.
  57. What is Glass ?
  58. Glass is an important but tedious mechanic that you first discover when you unlock the Glass Furnace (80 million sand banked). This allows the production of Glass Chips at the ONG at a cost of 1% of sand production per 1 Chip. By using 5 Glass Chips, you can upgrade the amount you can store by 10 and at 30 Glass Chips you can buy the Sand Refinery which lets you make more Glass Chips at the ONG. It's best to basically max this out as soon as you can, you're going to need a ton of it.
  59.
  60. When you reach 150 glass chips, you unlock the Glass Blower, which enables the production of Glass Blocks at the ONG which take 1% of your sand and 20 chips to make. Downgrade your Sand Refinery by 1 if you need to, and start your Glass Blower IMMEDIATELY, it's going to take a long time to get anywhere with it, and do not buy any glass ceilings you see yet, it's a waste, wait until the Glass Chiller. When you reach 80 glass blocks (you don't see the storage upgrade until like 35 I think) you unlock the Glass Chiller which speeds up Glass Block production, and at 95 the Sand Refinery which reduces the sand required to make Glass Chips. At 10k Glass Chips, you can purchase the Glass Extruder, which decreases the sand cost of Glass Blocks. All three of these are absolutely essential. The Glass Chiller is obvious, but the Sand Refinery and Glass Extruder is more important than you might think at first glance. You're going to need to produce a massive amount of Glass Chips in order to keep up with the 20 Chip cost per Glass Block, and a massive amount of glass blocks to keep up with end game costs, so try to even your production out as best as you can. Note that the Sand Refinery and Glass Extruder don't unlock like normal boosts, you can find them in the Glass Block and Glass Chip storage tabs, respectively.
  61.
  62. Glass is easiest made during Longpix (starts at frame 241), as the Blast Multitasking/Crossfeed upgrades make your Blast Furnace act as a Glass Furnace instead, and give you however many of each you make at an ONG. There are also many Redundakitten upgrades in LongPix that basically just give you more Redundakittens, and therefore higher chance of a Blast Furnace proc. Also, upgrade your Factory Automation as often as you possibly can. Blast Furnace is a DORD effect, and Factory Automation only produces DORD effects when it activates, giving you high chances of getting multiple Blast Furnace procs at one time.
  63.
  64. Glass Ceilings
  65. Oh boy, okay here we go. I hope you're prepared for this shit. Glass Ceilings are late game boosts that multiply the amount your tools produce by 33 per Glass Ceiling (there are 10 of them, one for each tool). Basically, this x33 is multiplied by 33 for every Glass Ceiling you have, the final multiplier with all Glass Ceilings is 33^10, 1.531579e+15, or about 1.5 quadrillion, so it's clear that the boosts are huge. Obviously you're not going to just be handed an upgrade that ridiculous, and it's locked behind an extremely tedious, slightly complicated and interesting mechanic.
  66.
  67. In order to unlock the next Glass Ceiling up, you have to OWN the previous Ceiling and and Ceilings before the previous in number must be "locked" (hover over them in your inventory). For example, to unlock Glass Ceiling 2, you must OWN Glass Ceiling 1, but Glass Ceiling 0 must be locked. This doesn't sound like much at first, but it gets pretty out of hand as the amount of actions for higher Glass Ceilings get higher and higher (recordedly over 254 actions of buying, locking, and rebuying from Glass Ceiling 8 to 9). You will need a huge amount of both Glass Blocks and Chips, as well as a lot of patience and idling. Just know that it's worth it, and seeing those massive numbers for the first time after all the trouble you went through is quite an exciting moment (if you're an autist like me at least)
  68.
  69. RESET WHEN!?!!?!
  70. NEW DISCOVERIES SHOW THAT IF YOU GO TO YOUR STATS PAGE AND HOVER OVER THE FLUX TURBINE, YOU CAN SEE YOUR TOTAL CASTLE MULTIPLIER. SUCH TECHNOLOGY.
  71.
  72. Basically, don't reset unless it's to get time travel. It's not worth going through the crazy, lengthy journey to get back to where you were twice. Just use Temporal Rifts (you can get them from logicat rewards)
  73.
  74. THIS GAME IS SHIT IT'S SO SLOW THE COMMUNITY BEHIND IT IS AUTISM CENTRAL IT MAKES NO SENSE I'M A RETARD SPOONFEED ME MORE U'RE A FAGIT

  97.
  98.
  99. Please note that I'm changing this a lot as I figure out more about the game and feel the need to add to it. There are many things that I still don't fully grasp yet, and I'm probably wrong on many things, but this is basically just based on my own experience and what other people have told me.
