  1. -------------------------------
  2. Slightly modified Ironmon rules
  3. -------------------------------
  4.
  5. Beat the game from start to finish (Obtain all 8 Johto badges, beat Elite Four R1, obtain all 8 Kanto badges, beat Elite Four R2, beat Red)
  6.
  7. **Randomize the game**
  8. All Pokémon, movesets, and items are randomized, with Trainer Pokémon & Wild Pokémon levels increased by 50%.
  9. Bad abilities are banned.
  10.
  11. **Set battle style**
  12. Battle style is Set, so no changing before the opponent sends out their Pokémon.
  13.
  14. **Catch or Kill 1 per Route**
  15. You can only catch OR kill one Pokémon per Route. It does not have to be the first one seen. All other Exp will come from Trainers. If you already caught or killed a wild Pokémon in an area and are drawn to a wild battle without being able to escape, you are allowed to kill the wild Pokémon. If encountering a Pokémon with Shadow Tag/Arena Trap, you are allowed to kill it to continue as many times as needed. You are also allowed to catch a Pokémon to use HMs with.
  16.
  17. **Permadeath**
  18. Once a Pokémon faints, you must release/store it. Fainted Pokémon with HM moves can still be used to perform those actions to avoid having to catch another one in its place. If a Pokémon dies with an item attached to it, the item cannot be salvaged.
  19.
  20. **No Shops**
  21. You can only use items that you pick up, no use of stores except for Pokeballs and Repels. You may not abuse respawning items by picking them up more than once, such as Mother's deliveries from Pokémarts.
  22.
  23. **Random Starter**
  24. You must choose the starter at random before looking at the options.
  25.
  26. **Favorites Clause**
  27. You can skip choosing the starter pick at Random ONLY if you find one of your 3 favorite Pokémon are an option. For games after Generation 3, you may add 1 additional favorite per gen.
  28.
  29. **Game Over**
  30. Once all party Pokémon have fainted, the run is over, and you must restart with a newly randomized game.
  31.
  32. **No Legendaries**
  33. You cannot catch legendaries. Trainers will still have them, but you cannot catch something that is deemed "legendary." If a Pokémon evolves into a legendary you can use it, but only then. If your randomly selected starter is a banned pokemon, you must instead choose 1 of the other starters.
  34.
  35. **Banned Items**
  36. Banned items: Lucky Egg, Sacred Ash, Everstone, Exp Share.
  37.
  38. **Stolen Items**
  39. You may not intentionally steal items from wild pokemon with moves like Thief, Covet, etc. If you steal from a pokemon that you do not end up catching in that battle, throw the item away.
  40.
  41. **Accidental Kills/Catches**
  42. If you accidentally kill a Pokémon while trying to catch it, you will no longer be able to capture or kill a Pokémon from that Route.
  43.
  44. If you catch a pokemon (accidental or otherwise) that you don't mean to add to your team you can immediately deposit it in the PC without viewing any information about its stats or moves. And then continue as if it never happened.
  45. You may throw pokéballs at a pokemon for reasons like being unable to run or if you are trying to scout its moves without risking killing it.
  46.
  47. **No Re-fights**
  48. You may not re-fight trainers at any point using the VS Seeker or other means.
  49.
  50. **Shiny Clause**
  51. If you encounter a shiny, you are allowed to kill it for EXP. You may not increase the shiny pokemon rate using the randomizer
  52.
  53. **Don't Give Up Without a Fight**
  54. You may not reset before the first battle if you don't like the starter Pokémon. After that it's fine. You might be surprised how far you can go with what looks like a terrible starter
  55.
  56. **Dungeon Clause**
  57. When entering a dungeon, such as a gym or cave, you can only enter once unless required by the game to revisit. In a gym, you must defeat all trainers in a row without leaving.
  58.
