  1. Erelye: **A B Y S S A L ~~8~~ O D D I T Y**
  2. **PLAY GAME / ACHIEVEMENTS / MODULES / MUSIC / SOLIDUS (∞) / CREDITS / QUIT**
  3. TwinBuilder: play game.
  4. Erelye: [**Loading...**]
  5. Erelye: [**Loading...**]
  6. Erelye: [**Game loaded successfully.**]
  7. Erelye: [**Your name is AZURE LAPIS. You are sitting in a dank cave, atop a warp pad.**]
  8. Consumer: Thank fuck for infinite credits.
  9. Consumer: > Observe.
  10. Erelye: [**You look about. Your eyes cannot penetrate the darkness further than a few feet, but there is some sort of crystal in a lamp a short distance away.**]
  11. Erelye: [**Rest assured, it is not cut in any manner.**]
  12. Consumer: > Walk towards the crystal, inspect.
  13. TwinBuilder: also, > Recall the recent past.
  14. Erelye: [**You walk toward the hanging crystal, and recall the recent past.**]
  15. Erelye: [**Your name is AZURE LAPIS. You are currently a half-gem from Earth. You have been sent on a suicide mission to collect all of the VOID SHARDS of Facet Nine, a region of РУБИС territory not oft explored, so that they may be inputted into the INFINITY EYE device on ИММЕЦОН. You have traveled throughout the sectors of the facet, meeting a number of ALLIES and ENEMIES, including SOLA “CYAN” AMARANTHINE, TOPAZ, and CHAROITE, who are traveling around with you. You seem to be caught up in the arcane machinations of a number of individuals vying against each other for total supremacy of the galaxy, including ИММЕ-ДРАХИС, the current supreme ruler of gem territory in the abyss, MALPEIYC OF GETEN, an omnipresent demon to whom you owe a favor for buying a *Pen*, and AFT’MATHAI THE HORRIBLE, who you unsuccessfully attempted to murder on account of their brutality. As of late, you’ve been impaled by a / and a :, had your friends stolen away from you by some armored warmaster, and nearly transformed yourself into a puddle of throbbing flesh. You are presently in the BETA SECTOR.**]
  16. TwinBuilder: how did we get to the beta sector, exactly?
  17. Erelye: [**Presumably by method of the warp pad you were just standing upon.**]
  18. TwinBuilder: I'm an idiot.
  19. TwinBuilder: > Inspect the crystal, then.
  20. Erelye: [**The crystal is clear. Pristine, even. About half a foot in length, the thing seems to brighten the space around it up, to a degree. There's a minuscule icon of a hand engraved in the side of the lamp proper.**]
  21. TwinBuilder: place your hand on the icon.
  22. Erelye: [**As was aforementioned, the thing is minuscule. It is not large enough for a full finger, let alone a hand.**]
  23. TwinBuilder: can you take the crystal?
  24. Erelye: [**If you can pry the thing out of the lamp, certainly. Other than that, it appears that taking the actual lamp proper would be a trivial affair.**]
  25. TwinBuilder: take the lamp then
  26. Erelye: [**You take the lamp. As you remove it from its pole, the crystal within flashes with multicolored light. Moments later, it stabilizes, casting a soft white glow across the cave.**]
  27. TwinBuilder: examine the cave.
  28. Erelye: [**The cave appears to be composed predominantly of damp arcanium. Aside from the warp pad, the only thing of interest appears to be a narrow passage in the wall you think you could *barely* fit through.**]
  29. TwinBuilder: do it, then.
  30. Consumer: > Barely fit through the passage.
  31. Erelye: [**You squeeze through the narrow thing, popping out of the other side. Slowly shining the light of the lantern across the chamber, you uncover a monolithic set of five gates in the wall. Each gate has a circle of some alternating design above it.**]
  32. TwinBuilder: examine desgins.
  33. Erelye: [**The first design appears to be that of a navy hand. The second is fuchsia, depicting a man being torn apart by tendrils of an oily substance. The third displays a maroon eye lying in a pool of blood. The fourth is an ochre skull. The final design appears to be a dull purple gate.**]
  34. Erelye: [**Each of the five stone gateways bears the sigil of a hand in its very center.**]
  35. TwinBuilder: a normal-sized hand?
  36. Erelye: [**Yes.**]
  37. TwinBuilder: place hand on the first stone gateway
  38. Erelye: [**You open the first gate. Behind it is an impenetrable darkness.**]
  39. TwinBuilder: place hand on the second stone gateway
  40. Erelye: [**You open the second gate. The first gate shuts as you do so. Behind it is an impenetrable darkness.**]
  41. TwinBuilder: close eyes.
  42. Erelye: [**You close your eyelids. Behind them is an impenetrable darkness.**]
  43. Consumer: The gate or the darkness behind my eyelids?
  44. Consumer: Is this a fucking stupid question?
  45. Erelye: [**Possibly.**]
  46. TwinBuilder: place hand on the third stone gateway.
  47. Erelye: [**You open the third gate, and the second gate closes in response. Behind it is an impenetrable darkness.**]
  48. Consumer: I think we can probably only go through the unsigiled one right now
  49. Consumer: > place your hand on the fifth stone gateway
  50. Erelye: [**You open the fifth gate. The third one closes in response. Behind it in an impenetrable darkness.**]
  51. Pope Cipurr: >attempt to put hands on multiple gateways
  52. Pope Cipurr: >also enter the cosmos? what was the term we were using
  53. Erelye: [**You put your hands on the fourth and fifth gates simultaneously, and enter the cosmos.**]
  54. Erelye: [**While nothing happens whatsoever with the gates, you see four undulating cosmic horrors in the starry realm of your glasses, along with a single grinning man in a suit.**]
  55. Pope Cipurr: >glare at malpeiyc
  56. Erelye: [**He shouts back at you from a distance.** *"Hey, kid! I'd love to chat, but I'm trying not to get my face torn off by dear old Cthk'aryvt here."*]
  57. Erelye: [**You can hear one of the things gurgle something to him in an incomprehensible tongue in response.**]
  58. TwinBuilder: oh no.
  59. TwinBuilder: isn't that the eye of a thousand seas, or something to that effect.
  60. Erelye: [*"That'd be the one!"*]
  61. TwinBuilder: wasn't Cthk'aryvt the key to stopping our ashen plague earlier.
  62. Erelye: [**Yes.**]
  63. TwinBuilder: and don't we still have the ashen plague.
  64. Erelye: [**That's a distinct possibility.**]
  65. Erelye: [**Though you don't feel as if any plague has been attacking your being since you got a fuckin' slash stabbed through you.**]
  66. TwinBuilder: huh. then it cured you?
  67. Erelye: [**You'd think as much.**]
  68. TwinBuilder: interesting to note.
  69. TwinBuilder: examine cosmic horrors.
  70. Erelye: [**You examine the four unfathomably megalithic entities.**]
  71. Erelye: [**You feel as though your eyes are either screaming, or bleeding, and the former shouldn't even be possible.**]
  72. TwinBuilder: ...stop examining them.
  73. Erelye: [**You do so. The scream-bleeding ceases.**]
  74. TwinBuilder: ask malpeiyc for advice?
  75. Erelye: [*"Look. It isn't that difficult. Just pick a door, and walk through. The designs are indicative enough."*]
  76. Consumer: Oh, okay.
  77. TwinBuilder: the darkness implied there was nothing there but okay.
  78. TwinBuilder: let's try the first gate, then.
  79. Consumer: I was more worried about the impenetrable but apparently we're fucking change now
  80. Erelye: [**Are you sure you want to make a decision that quickly?**]
  81. TwinBuilder: no.
  82. Nomble: maybe we should try the boring gate first
  83. Pope Cipurr: >examine the gates from the cosmos
  84. Consumer: the boring gate will be the hardest and most tortorous gate
  85. crystalcat: Hm.
  86. Consumer: perhaps we can save that for last
  87. Erelye: [**In the cosmos, the gates aren't real. There are only snakes. Snakes eating other snakes.**]
  88. Pope Cipurr: .
  89. Pope Cipurr: ok
  90. crystalcat: The maroon eye is obviously Malpeiyc.
  91. Consumer: so, ditch the cosmos?
  92. TwinBuilder: the dull purple gate is S.O.L.I.D.U.S. I'm assuming the navy hand is the abdicator (us)
  93. Pope Cipurr: the hand is probably a diamond
  94. Pope Cipurr: oh
  95. TwinBuilder: which is why I wanted to go through that door
  96. crystalcat: I think the second is the cosmic horrors.
  97. crystalcat: The ochre skull I have no idea about.
  98. Erelye: [**Please enter command.**]
  99. TwinBuilder: all in favor of navy hand?
  100. Pope Cipurr: shrug
  101. Consumer: sure
  102. crystalcat: >Think about what the ochre skull could be.
  103. Consumer: > leave the cosmos?
  104. crystalcat: Leave the cosmos.
  105. Erelye: [**You exit the cosmos, and return to the boring gates.**]
  106. Erelye: [**You haven't a clue what the skull could be.**]
  107. crystalcat: Navy hand, ye.
  108. Erelye: [**You enter the first gate.**]
  109. Erelye: [**As the gate shuts behind you, the darkness fades, and reveals a tunnel hacked into the earth by what appears to have been a set of talons.**]
  110. Erelye: [**You can't quite see the end of the tunnel, but you're pretty sure it exists.**]
  111. TwinBuilder: any objects of interest?
  112. Erelye: [**Nothing.**]
  113. Pope Cipurr: >just walk to the end
  114. Erelye: [**You walk to the end of the tunnel, and find a small chamber in the cave. There's an elevator pad in the center of it.**]
  115. TwinBuilder: use the elevator pad.
  116. Erelye: [**You use the pad, which immediately begins to ascend upward. Within a short ten seconds, you appear to have reached the surface of wherever it is you are. There's green grass below and a starry sky above.**]
  117. Erelye: [**Upon taking in natural light, the crystal in your lamp begins to crack.**]
  118. TwinBuilder: put it in your inventory so it's not exposed to the light.
  119. Erelye: [**You do so.**]
  120. Pope Cipurr: >Take a look around.
  121. Erelye: [**You appear to be in some verdant field, with the occasional tree scattered about. The landscape rolls up and down. Over a nearby hill, you can see a variety of structures scattered about in a valley of some description.**]
  122. Erelye: [**Said structures appear to be odd discs of some sort held above the ground by four large legs.**]
  123. Erelye: [**Save for one, that is.**]
  124. TwinBuilder: literal legs?
  125. Erelye: [**No.**]
  126. TwinBuilder: i mean, the structures resemble legs
  127. Erelye: [**They do not. They're more like curved pillars, you suppose.**]
  128. TwinBuilder: head over to them.
  129. Erelye: [**You walk over to the massive things. As you do so, the one building that is not like all of the others comes into a brilliant prominence. A gargantuan spire, tall and elegant, with various holes and burn marks scattered across it.**]
  130. Erelye: [**Several lights at the top of the spire's antennae blink periodically.**]
  131. TwinBuilder: is there an entrance to any of these structures?
  132. Erelye: [**All of the discs seem to be shut tight. However, the spire has a visible entrance, and a set of four multicolored squares sealed inside a hand upon it.**]
  133. Erelye: [**White on top, blue and green in the middle, and pink on the bottom.**]
  134. Erelye: [**Please enter command.**]
  135. Consumer: hmm...
  136. Consumer: diamond authority colours?
  137. Bomber57: Definitely.
  138. Erelye: [**You believe so, yes.**]
  139. Pope Cipurr: yeah it's the old authority's symbol
  140. Pope Cipurr: anyways enter the (non-sea) spire
  141. Erelye: [**You enter the spire.**]
  142. Erelye: [**You are brought into a small entrance chamber, possessed of numerous scattered objects lying around haphazardly, as if someone had searched the place frantically prior to your entering.**]
  143. Pope Cipurr: :/
  144. Pope Cipurr: Might as well try to bring some order back to the place
  145. Erelye: [**Do you attempt to clean the room up, then?**]
  146. TwinBuilder: yes.
  147. Erelye: [**You collect all of the scattered objects, and sort them into three piles. ~~Animal, humanoid, and miscellaneous.~~**]
  148. Erelye: [**Broken, unbroken, and unusable.**]
  149. Erelye: [**Little bits of machinery fill the first and third piles, while precisely two objects line the second.**]
  150. Erelye: [**What appears to be a medkit, and a scroll.**]
  151. Bomber57: >Read/inspect the scroll
  152. Erelye: [**Euphonious Scroll: A scroll of a flimsy thin paper. Inscribed upon the thing in indelible pale gray ink are four different songs, flowing down the paper in a particular order. The top song is called ИОС УЦОСУ ДРЕН-РУБИС, the second ЗВИРЦИ АЛ РВИХ, the third ЧОПХИД ЕQ ЛАТ, the final one ИХ УЦОСЦО ПЕИЫЦТ. If you stare hard enough, you think you can see that these songs were written over regular music. Regardless, they have a peculiar *musical* quality to them you quite like.**]
  153. Consumer: > Take the medkit.
  154. Erelye: [**You take the medkit.**]
  155. Bomber57: Well since this is only the entrance chamber I suppose we can continue further into the tower then?
  156. TwinBuilder: continue.
  157. TwinBuilder: wait
  158. TwinBuilder: take the scroll.
  159. Erelye: [**You do so.**]
  160. Bomber57: Oh, well yeah. Whoop.
  161. TwinBuilder: now continue.
  162. Erelye: [**Continuing to the next room, you find yourself in what you think was once the first floor's central chamber. Now, however, it is in disrepair. That is to say, the place is filled with *massive* hunks of the very same turquoise crystal you saw in the Alpha Sector, and in the Nu Sector as well.**]
  163. Erelye: [**You can see a number of indistinct shapes frozen in the huge shards.**]
  164. TwinBuilder: examine shapes.
  165. Erelye: [**You peer into the shards, grimacing. In the center of one of the larger masses appears to be a number of gems in battle armor, still yet unpoofed. They don't move when you look at them in the slightest, though they do appear to be stuck in a position indicative of fleeing from *something*.**]
  166. TwinBuilder: ...bad sign.
  167. TwinBuilder: any other objects of interest?
  168. TwinBuilder: specifically, esacpe routes
  169. TwinBuilder: but also cool items
  170. Erelye: [**There are a few doors in the walls blocked off by the crystal, and a shattered warp pad in the center of the room. Also of note is that there is a gaping hole in the ceiling to the next floor. Outside of paths to freedom, you see wreckage from sort of large explosion in a corner, blocked up by the crystal. There's a tube of what appears to be some magetear on the far end of the room, cracked slightly.**]
  171. crystalcat: Examine tube closer.
  172. Erelye: [**Equipoise Stabilizer: A glass tube of magetear, slightly cracked. Suspended within the little device appear to be a number of gem shards. While you’re no expert, you think this was some sort of rudimentary method of soothing the pains of a shattered - so to speak - existence.**]
  173. crystalcat: Awh. Nice.
  174. Erelye: [**Please enter command.**]
  175. TwinBuilder: take stabilizer.
  176. Erelye: [**You take it.**]
  177. TwinBuilder: also, examine wreckage.
  178. Erelye: [**The hunks of the building that make up the wreckage appear to be seared by some incomprehensible explosion.**]
  179. Yung Venuz: hmm
  180. TwinBuilder: can you slash through the crystal to get through the doors?
  181. Erelye: [**_Maybe_. You're not quite sure.**]
  182. TwinBuilder: try.
  183. Erelye: !roll 1 6
  184. Gravebot: <@179312636616245248> rolled a 6 sided dice 1 times for a total of **1** (average: 1):
  185. 1
  186. TwinBuilder: fail.
  187. Yung Venuz: Owch.
  188. Erelye: [**You hack at the crystal with a blade of pure water.**]
  189. Erelye: [**The thing slides into the crystal, and sticks. Immediately, the turquoise *glass* begins to creep forth, sealing the water away entirely.**]
  190. Erelye: [**You've mere seconds to drop it before it gets to you, which you do hastily.**]
  191. TwinBuilder: ...ew.
  192. TwinBuilder: I don't want to risk trying that with one of our more permanent weapons, so.
  193. TwinBuilder: head through the giant hole
  194. Yung Venuz: yeah
  195. Erelye: [**How?**]
  196. TwinBuilder: fly.
  197. Erelye: [**You reach the second floor.**]
  198. Erelye: [**This one is dominanted by the girth of what appears to be a massive starship sticking out of the wall, its front within this very chamber locked in place by more turquoise crystal. There is one door.**]
  199. TwinBuilder: any other objects of interest?
  200. Erelye: [**A couple of dead people in the crystal near you, sure.**]
  201. Yung Venuz: >examine dead people
  202. Erelye: [**They all appear to have been frozen in this eldritch matrix of shards whilst halfway through the process of morphing in form from a humanoid to some sort of beast. Every face is either terrified, desperate, or empty.**]
  203. TwinBuilder: ...ashen plague?
  204. Yung Venuz: crystal plague.
  205. Yung Venuz: or a relative of it.
  206. Erelye: [*How about none of the above?*]
  207. Yung Venuz: Ah, the deadly none of the above. Such a rare, horrifying disease.
  208. TwinBuilder: can we enter the starship? if not, head through the door.
  209. Yung Venuz: ^
  210. Erelye: [**You could *certainly* enter the starship. If you cut through a thin layer of the crystal, that is.**]
  211. TwinBuilder: try to do so, then.
  212. TwinBuilder: be sure to sever the attachment from the water blade you conjure up
  213. TwinBuilder: as soon as you're done
  214. Erelye: !roll 1 6
  215. Gravebot: <@179312636616245248> rolled a 6 sided dice 1 times for a total of **4** (average: 4):
  216. 4
  217. Erelye: [**You hack a door frame out of the crystal, quickly climbing in through a shattered cockpit.**]
  218. TwinBuilder: oh boy.
  219. Erelye: [**There are a few charred bodies in the chairs to the left and right of you in the cockpit's remnants.**]
  220. TwinBuilder: anything else of interest?
  221. Erelye: [**Two things. A captain's log of transactions on a digital terminal in the corner, and a door to the cargo bay.**]
  222. Consumer: > Look for anything important in the captain's log, and where money is from / being sent to.
  223. Erelye: [**Everything seems to be standard for the first half of the log. Transport of spice and white glass back and forth between Facet Sixteen and Facet Nine. The second half, however, appears to consist of the ship's crew ferrying a 'ГЕОь███████' between Facet One and Facet Two up until the final transaction, which takes this 'ГЕОь███████' from Facet One to the Beta Sector of Facet Nine.**]
  224. TwinBuilder: GEO'
  225. Consumer: > Examine bodies
  226. Erelye: [**They're practically unrecognizable. Fortunately enough, that probably means it was a quick death by fire.**]
  227. TwinBuilder: that's fortunate.
  228. TwinBuilder: enter cargo bay.
  229. Erelye: [**You enter the cargo bay. The far end of the chamber, and by extent, the entire back end of the ship, appears to have snapped off, and is in pieces on the ground below. What's left of the place on your end is covered in shattered gems, turquoise crystal shards embedded in the wall, and a hole in the side of the wall in the shape of an eight-foot-tall humanoid.**]
  230. TwinBuilder: anything you can take/examine?
  231. Erelye: [**The shards, if you so wish.**]
  232. TwinBuilder: i'm worried if i take those my hand will become ensnared in crystal so how about we don't
  233. Erelye: [**You do not take the crystals.**]
  234. TwinBuilder: do you guys have other ideas?
  235. TwinBuilder: examine hole.
  236. Erelye: [**The humanoid-shaped hole has a particular point of interest to you. The wires of the ruined ship in the side of it appear to have been frozen into place by the turquoise crystal, as if some of the ever-spreading stuff had been *fired* through the wall.**]
  237. crystalcat: Huh.
  238. TwinBuilder: leave the ship.
  239. TwinBuilder: I don't want to touch any of the crystals. they're probably contagious.
  240. Erelye: [**You swiftly exit the ship, leaping deftly through the shattered cockpit-screen once more.**]
  241. TwinBuilder: examine the door, then. which is presumably the way out
  242. Erelye: [**The door is pale white, and marked by the image of a green diamond. There is a hand symbol off to the side.**]
  243. Consumer: > Put your hand on the hand symbol.
  244. Erelye: [**You do so.**]
  245. Erelye: [**Autosave initiated.**]
  246. Erelye: [**Saving...**]
  247. Erelye: [**Saving...**]
  248. Erelye: [**Game saved and quit successfully. Have a nice Year of Trump.**]
