+ Jangmi is at a cafe on her computer. When the waitress comes up to Jangmi, she spilled the hot coffee all over Jangmi and her computer. Jangmi immediately stands up while the waitress puts down her things to get things for Jangmi to clean herself up in. Jangmi looks at the waitress’ notepad and on it read
‘You better leave Unlucky Song, nothing good comes from you being here. I’m trying to keep business coming in and you being here won’t help at all.’
Jangmi was known as the person of bad luck in the area. Jangmi takes a handkerchief and pats herself and her computer before standing up to leave. A hand stops her and she is stopped by the resident hottie, Kang Daniel. He hands her more napkins to clean herself up and cleans the mess up around her. Jangmi thanks him, but then a guy trips over Daniel and a cake is thrown on the top of Daniel’s head. Everyone in the cafe gasps and Jangmi feels tears prick her eyes. She kneels down and hands him her handkerchief. He smiles at her and takes the cake off his head and cleans up his hair. They both stand up and Daniel takes off his hoodie and hands it to Areum. “Where are you going? I’ll walk you back?” Jangmi blushes but looks at the eyes on her, “No where that concerns you,” she gives Daniel his hoodie back, a stone cold expression covers her face, “I wouldn’t want to walk with you anyways.”

+ She tries to be cold and rude so that she does not give him any bad karma. She wants him to stick around, but she does not want him getting hurt while being invloved with her. Whenever he does get hurt or anything she will blame herself and help him while she tears up. Her cold exterior is countered by her warm and sweet smile and actions. Since she was young, she has been called unlucky song or Ms. cursed. She never liked it, but she could not say anything about it. So she hates big crowds because she does not want to be judged by a lot of people all at once.

She does not want people to see how much they affect her so she acts cold and rude to a lot of people who judge her. She really does not want to be, but she has to be, she has built up walks and does not plan on breaking them down anytime soon.

She usually takes walks alone in the park so she usually sees children getting hurt at the park. She will quickly help them before their parents notice and walk away. Kids at the park usually refer to her as “The Angel of the Park.” because she always helps out. She is really good with kids.

She is not use to people acting nice to her so when people do, it is a surprise to her. She does not know how to function when a nice person talks to her, her immediate reactions is to protect them, but also to push them away. She is really indecisive.

She has learned to keep her temper and knows how that she should not overreact. She does not want to draw attention to herself so she does not like to overreact. She has a great temper and it takes a lot to make her mad.

❁| PAST:
+ At the young age of 8 her parents were brutally murdered in the streets of Los Angeles. They went to visit Jangmi’s grandmother on her mom’s side. They were walking down the street to a convenience store, but get jumped by two men. Jangmi’s father told her to run to the conscience center store and call the police, they also told Jangmi they were behind her. They weren’t. She calls the police and she is sent to the station for questioning. All while this happens, Jangmi’s grandma dies at her apartment due to a heart attack from the shock of losing her daughter and son in law. Jangmi became traumatized.
+ After all the investigation, the men were not caught and Jangmi were sent to Busan Korea to live with her other grandparents. Rumors spread quickly of Jangmi and kids quickly shunned her. The rumors were confirmed when she was taken out of class is she could see her psychologist. However there were a few brave enough that would become friends with her. But they would have something happen to them, like they would break a bone, get concussions, or be put in a life or death situation. By high school she got heavily bullied and she became a scary person. No one wanted to hang around her.
+ People began anonymously bullying her because they did not want her to come after them. But the bullying never affected her even though they used some rude words.

However if the topic of her parents came up she would find whoever made the comment and beat them up. People stopped talking about her parents because the last person who talked about it got sent to the hospital. From then on she tried to keep her temper.
+ Her grandparents, who she always stayed with, were always getting sick so as soon as Areum could, she moved out. Now she lives alone in an apartment with her pet cat she got. Luckily, her cat has had nothing happen to him since she got him. She really tries to seclude herself from others, waiting till the day her bad luck transfers to herself.
