  1. >You are Sweetie Belle.
  2. >And you are beyond confused.
  3. >Unable to hear the panicked voices of your comrades, all you can focus on is the tall lumbering creature sauntering away.
  4. >Why was it here?
  5. >What did it want?
  6. >And why did it just let you live.
  7. >So many questions are running through your head
  8. >And further mo-
  9. >"SWEETIEBELLE!"
  10. >Scoots finally breaks you out of your trance.
  11. >"What's wrong with you girl, we gotta get outta here before that...thing comes back!"
  12. >You weren't so sure about that.
  13. >If it had wanted to harm you, you probably wouldn't be standing here anymore.
  14. >An image of you being carried away like that deer comes to mind.
  15. >"Ahm sorry girls, I guess this was a bad idea after all"
  16. >"It's ok Applebloom, nop0ny got hurt after all. Heck, I'd say that was pretty exciting!"
  17. >"Ah don't think Sweetie would agree Scoots..."
  18. >They both look at you to see what you have to say.
  19. >But you simply stare in the direction the creature disappeared into.
  20. >After a few moments of silence you open your mouth.
  21. I...I wonder where it lives.
  22. >Applebloom and Scootaloo look at you with wide eyes and jaws dropped.
  23. >Darn it, you said what you were thinking out loud again...
  24. >"Sweetie! What in the hay are yah sayin'? You ain't thinking of following that there critter are yah?"
  25. >You look back to where the trail disappears into the brush.
  26. n-no I wasn't...
  27. >You lightly scratch at the ground with a bad poker face.
  28. >Applebloom rolls her eyes and Scootaloo facepalms.
  29.
  30. >After a little more arguing you finally agree to leave the forest.
  31. >You know they wouldn't let you hear the end of it otherwise.
  32. >Following the path home was easy.
  33. >And by the time you reached the exit everyone was busy laughing and giggling about some new idea for a new crusade.
  34. >You were having such a good time you didn't even notice the figure waiting at the end of the trail.
  35. >"Sweetie Belle! What in the world are you doing in this DREADFUL forest?"
  36. >Oh crap...
  37. n-nothing Rarity we were just playing a little...
  38. >"PLAYING?! You know how dangerous this place is, why I was worried sick!"
  39. But Rarity we-
  40. >"No buts! You are coming home this instant!"
  41. >You feel your ear being painfully tugged by her magic.
  42. >"We are going to have a LONG talk when we get home young filly."
  43. >You look to your friends for help, but they're both hanging their heads in shame.
  44. >It's going to be a long night...
  45.
  46. >After a heated argument, which really just involved Rarity yelling at you while you scrunched up on the floor and took it, you were sent to your room.
  47. >You start to pace back and forth in irritation.
  48. >Grounded for a month...a WHOLE MONTH?
  49. >You were fuming with anger.
  50. >You fall onto your bed and raise your hoofs to the air.
  51. >This was so unfair!
  52. >How are you supposed to get your cutie mark if Rarity grounds you for anything you do?
  53. I can't believe it, it's like sis doesn't have a fun bone in her whole body...
  54. >As if she's never gone on an adventure before.
  55. >That wouldn't surprise you actually, it IS Rarity after all.
  56.
  57. >Laying down on your side, you poke a ball on the floor in front of you in frustration.
  58. >As it slowly rolls away you realize just how boring this is gonna be.
  59. ahhhhhHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGGGGG-
  60. >You're interrupted by a yell from downstairs.
  61. >"Sweetie Belle! Cut that noise out this instant!"
  62. But I'm so booooooorrrrred!
  63. >"Then go to bed, it's already quite late as it is"
  64. But I'm not tiiiiiiired!
  65. "No more buts! I don't want to hear another peep out of you for the rest of the night understood?"
  66. >You look out your window, gazing at the Everfree Forest
  67. >Oh you understood alright.
  68. >She wasn't gonna hear a thing tonight.
  69. >You'd make sure of it.
  70.
  71. >After waiting for what seemed like hours, but was really just minutes, you hear Rarity finally go to bed.
  72. >Hoisting your saddle bag onto your back, you begin stuffing it full of supplies.
  73. >Clothes, blankets, pillows and just about anything you can think of in your left side.
  74. >Making sure the weight didn't make you tilt over, you sneak downstairs ninja style.
  75. >Well more like a thief at this point, but hey you can't steal from your own house right?
  76. >Moving into the kitchen, you begin packing your other bag full of snack foods of various kinds.
  77. >There wasn't much to begin with, Rarity was always soooo worried about her figure she'd never touch anything icky like sweets.
  78. >Though you did catch her eating ice-cream while crying after Blueblood broke her heart.
  79. >That...that was a weird time.
  80. >When the bag was finally full you made your way to the door.
  81. >Only to be repelled back onto your flank.
  82. >The door had been magically locked from the inside.
  83. OH COME ON!
  84. >You slam your hooves on your mouth and prayed to Celestia that Rarity didn't hear that.
  85. >Sitting perfectly still, you wait for what seems like forever for any signs that she got up.
  86. >Finally building up the confidence you crawl back upstairs and head back to your room as quiet as a ninja/thief.
  87. >No stupid enchantment is gonna get the better of you.
  88. >You decide to make a quick stop at Rarity's work area.
  89. >Using a bunch of random fabrics no one would notice go missing, you twine them into a makeshift rope.
  90. >You knew they were useful for something other than looking girly.
  91. >Slipping back into your own room, you head towards your window.
  92. >Cracking it open, the pleasant night breeze greets you.
  93. >It's so much more refreshing after being in that stuffy room for so long.
  94. >Making sure to be as quiet as possible, you toss the colorful rope out into the cool night air.
  95. >You realized Rarity would probably figure out what you did by the time she woke up.
  96. >But that was plenty of time.
  97. >Still grumpy from your fight earlier, you didn't really care what she thought right now anyway.
  98. >Climbing down was awkward, but the rest of the trip went smoothly.
  99. >It was so dark out that only Luna herself would've noticed you walking through Ponyville.
  100. >You walk past shops with "Closed" signs and houses with all the lights turned off.
  101. >Ponyville almost seemed like a different place at night, spooky even.
  102. >No one would notice one little filly traveling under the cover of darkness.
  103. >It took a while, but you were finally there again...the edge of the Everfree forest.
  104. >Taking a deep breath, you make your way inside.
  105. >You hadn't even noticed the yellow mare watching from her cottage in the distance...
  106.
  107. >Trying to make your way back to the spot where you found him was a pain.
  108. >It was pitch black out now, and the trees weren't helping at all.
  109. >Luckily, you still had the path to follow, but that wouldn't last much longer.
  110. >The clearing you met him in looked so peaceful now.
  111. >The moonlight settled onto the field as the grass swayed in the breeze.
  112. >If you didn't know better you'd have sworn what happened earlier was just a figment of your imagination.
  113. >Whether it was a dream or a nightmare was still up for debate though...
  114. >You walked up to the bushes he had disappeared into.
  115. >Pushing your way through, you don't even get 10 meters before the moonlight has all but evaporated into nothingness, swallowed whole by the dense foliage.
  116. >You were gonna become lost for sure at this rate.
  117. >Closing your eyes and grinding your teeth, you put all your strength into a basic light spell.
  118. >Why did magic have to be so HARD!?
  119. >Struggling just to keep the light intact, you open your eyes and see it immediately.
  120. >Blood...
  121. >On the ground and the leaves.
  122. >I long trail of blood.
  123. >Like a sick man's bread crumb trail.
  124. >You wince and wonder if this is such a good idea after all.
  125. >But it's too late now, it'll be morning by the time you get back and Rarity will be twice as mad.
  126. >Working up the courage, you follow the sanguine liquid into the deep unknown.
  127. >After a while you accidentally trip on something.
  128. >Irritated, you wipe the dirt from you face and look down to check what it was.
  129. >Only then do you notice the footprints that have been following the same path as yours.
  130. >You'd never seen anything like that before.
  131. >It was kinda like a monkey's paw, but long like a rabbit's foot.
  132. >Sticking your own hoof in the indent it made, you saw it was at least twice your size.
  133. >Giggling at the difference helped you relax a bit.
  134. >Walking through this spooky woods to find an even spookier creature had been stressing you out.
  135.
  136. >Creeping through caves of glowing mushrooms.
  137. >Jogging through forests of chirping birds and buzzing insects.
  138. >Tightrope walking rickety logs over gentle creeks.
  139. This trail goes on forEVER!
  140. >You were starting to run out of patience.
  141. >Pushing your way through bushes, your mane gets caught on twigs and branches.
  142. >Tugging and pulling the knots out in frustration makes your hair a mess.
  143. Ugg could this night get any worse...
  144. >You stare up at the tree tops waiting for an answer.
  145. >A loud CRACK of thunder is the forest's reply.
  146.
  147. (http://www.infinitelooper.com/?v=1pSyYhRYeIM&p=n)
  148.
  149. OH COME ON!
  150. >Slowly, you start trudging down the trail once more.
  151. >The flecks of red had begun to disappear, washed away by the will of nature.
  152. >Panic was knocking at your mind's door.
  153. >After taking a breath and calming down you check again.
  154. >Luckily, the footprints still managed to stay clear and fresh.
  155. >But you were running out of time, soon enough the ground would be soft and you'd be truly lost in this creepy place.
  156. >You wiped the hair out of your eyes, the rain had made it lose its natural fluffiness, gluing it to your face.
  157. >The weight of the bags increased with every rain drop, soaking it up like annoying sponges...
  158. >Exhaustion was beginning to creep up on you as well.
  159. >Kinda regret telling Rarity you weren't tired.
  160. >A nice bed sounded like heaven right about now...
  161. >Tears started forming in your eyes.
  162. >You pretend you're sniffling because you have a cold
  163. >You don't even know who your pretending for...
  164. This was a stupid idea...
  165. >You stop walking.
  166. >You can't even see the trail anymore.
  167. >Your vision has blurred and wiping your eyes doesn't seem to help at all.
  168. Why'd I even come out to this *hic* stupid forest...
  169. Now I'm just gonna die out here *hic* with NOTHING TO SHOW FO-
  170. >Another clash of lightning interrupts your self pity.
  171. >A flash of light almost blinds you.
  172. >But for a quick second...in the distance...you see it.
  173. >A cave.
  174. >An ominous, haunting, and lonely looking place.
  175. >With a thin strain of hope you trudge onward.
  176.
  177. >You are Anon.
  178. >And you fucking hate the rain.
  179. >When it rained, food would hide in their precious little holes...
  180. >There was no point in stepping outside.
  181. >It was cold.
  182. >You hated the cold.
  183. >The jungle was always hot and humid.
  184. >You'd sleep in the warm grass under the stars, looking up and wondering what it was like up there.
  185. >Just the way you liked it.
  186. >This forest was hell, the rain made the air chill you to the bone.
  187. >If it was trying to kill you, this was far more effective than any creature it could throw at you.
  188. >...Fuck this rain, and fuck the cold.
  189. >You roll over on your pile of sticks and leaves, your back facing the entrance.
  190. >You sneeze loudly and shiver.
  191. >Fuck this place.
  192. >You try to fall asleep and forget about reality, you'd have to go foraging when the rain was over.
  193. >Right as you close your eyes, your instincts force you awake.
  194. >Intruder...
  195. >Even over the sounds of the rain, you could hear another being enter your cave.
  196. >Feigning sleep, you crack an eye open and reach for your spear.
  197. >You always kept it near you.
  198. >Being defenseless was one of your "pet peeves" so to say.
  199. >Pretending to still be unaware you listen as the creature comes closer.
  200. >A familiar sound is heard.
  201. >It reminds you of rocks being clacked together.
  202. >Ah yes "hooves" ...it was one of those blasted p0nies wasn't it.
  203. >Come to kill you in your sleep like you did to the previous owner of this cave no doubt...
  204. >You couldn't let it leave now that it knew where you lived.
  205. >At least dinner had decided to come to you instead for once.
  206. >Gripping the spear tight, you wait for the time to strike.
  207. >It moved slowly, each step sounded louder than the last.
  208. >You could tell it was getting closer.
  209. >When it finally reached within throwing range, you stood up almost instantly.
  210. >Looks like you startled it...good.
  211. >You couldn't make it out in the darkness, but it didn't matter.
  212. >It took less than a second to ready your throw.
  213. >Just as you were going to end its life, another crack of lightning floods the cave with light.
  214. >The silhouetted image of a white filly burns your retinas.
  215. >Covering your eyes before you go blind, you utter out what sounds like a growl.
  216. ShwEEteh Buellllll?
  217. >The light fades and darkness envelopes the cave once more.
  218. >She doesn't move.
  219. >You can't tell what she's thinking...
  220. >...And you don't particularly care either.
  221. >Sighing with a mixture of exhaustion and apathy, you begin to settle down.
  222. >A mere foal is no threat to you.
  223. >All the built up adrenaline passes, leaving you even more tired than you were before.
  224. >Placing your spear on the ground next to you, you lay back down with your back turned as if nothing had changed.
  225. >Maybe if you pretend she doesn't exist she'll leave.
  226. >The silence between you is only broken by the continuing rain, coupled with the occasional howl of thunder.
  227. >There's that sound again...
  228. >The sound of hooves clopping closer.
  229. >You make a light growl, trying to make it clear that she's not welcome here.
  230. >But your threats are cut unexpectedly short.
  231. ACHOO!
  232. >God damn it.
  233. >You wipe your face and shiver again.
  234. >Still hate this place...
  235. >A sudden sensation catches you by surprise.
  236. >A soft blanket is lightly tossed over you.
  237. >For a split second your nerves thought it might be a net of some kind
  238. >Sitting up, you begin inspecting it thoroughly.
  239. >Its almost entirely white, with the image of three gems stitched into a corner.
  240. >And quite possibly the softest damn thing you have ever touched in your lifetime.
  241. >A gentle touch to your side breaks you out of your day dream.
  242. >The little filly is nestled against you.
  243. >For a second you feel the urge to shove her away.
  244. >But she shivers and shakes next to you.
  245. >A moment passes...
  246. >You stared at the bundle of fluff, a sense of defeat lingering in the air.
  247. >You give an exaggerated sigh and lay back down.
  248. >The sun was starting to rise.
  249. >And you hadn't got an ounce of sleep all bloody night.
  250. ..ish nata kra..
  251. >You knew she wouldn't understand you but you said it anyway.
  252. ..ack nack tara ka..
  253. >Gently, you grasp her, the sudden action causing her to flinch in fear.
  254. >You slowly slide her into your arms.
  255. sWeeteh bEll...
  256. >Her hair was a mess and she was even colder than you.
  257. >The rain really did a number on her.
  258. >Hopefully she'd warm up fast.
  259. >Last thing you need is a dead filly for the others to come searching for.
  260. >Sunlight started to sting your eyes but the rain wasn't letting up.
  261. >Guess the best option is to sleep and think with a clear head later.
  262. >Sweetie is already asleep, using your arm as a pillow.
  263. >Scrunching up a bit, you lean on your shoulder and fall asleep.
  264. >The little ball of fluff still tight in your grip.
  265.
  266.
  267. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUbfUsJ38qE)
  268.
  269.
  270. >You wake up bleary eyed.
  271. >Your mouth feels funny, like its full of cotton.
  272. >Starting to come to your senses you realize you've been chewing on the filly's hair in your sleep.
  273. >Damn stuff tasted like candy...
  274. >Letting the tuft go, you try and smooth it out.
  275. >There's finally daylight, must've been asleep all morning.
  276. >The filly.....Sweetie Belle is still knocked out.
  277. >You use the chance to inspect her now that you can actually see her.
  278. >...She was a complete mess.
  279. >It's the only real way to describe it.
  280. >Her mane has sticks and leaves stuck to it.
  281. >Most of her coat is covered in mud.
  282. >And her face looked like it had been crying for hours.
  283. >There's a set of bags a few feet away from the two of you.
  284. >Must belong to her.
  285. >Making sure not to wake her, you quietly get up to inspect her bags.
  286. >Maybe being curious just came naturally to humans.
  287. >You pick up your spear and brace yourself.
  288. >Last time you opened something that wasn't yours you got a not so pleasant surprise.
  289. >Memories of snakes start invading your mind.
  290. >You shudder at the thought.
  291. >Hooking the spear tip under the flap, you violently wrench it open.
  292. >You stand on guard, ready for anything.
  293. >...
  294. >A moment passes.
  295. >Nothing happens...
  296. >Feeling foolish, you move closer and begin to sniff it.
  297. >It smells like that blanket, fabrics, and...food?
  298. >The second bag catches your attention.
  299. >The scent of pastries pierces your brain as you open it.
  300. >Opening the second bag revealed what "seemed" like food.
  301. >You'd never seen anything like it, but it smelled amazing.
  302. >Not even bothering to consider if its safe or not you take a bite from some colorful...thing.
  303. >My god, that is delicious.
  304. >You've never eaten baked goods before, hell you didn't even know what baking WAS.
  305. >But these...these were something else.
  306. >Like a bear foraging for winter, you start digging in.
  307. >Each morsel giving you a sugar rush you had never felt before.
  308. >It wasn't until half way through the bag that you were taken back to reality.
  309. >The fil-...Sweetie Belle lets out a loud yawn.
  310. >You freeze in place, watching as she rolls over and continues to sleep.
  311. >You sigh in relief.
  312. >Coming back to your senses you realize what you've done.
  313. >Most of her food had relocated to your stomach.
  314. >You knew she wouldn't eat the meat you saved for yourself.
  315. >Damn plant eaters, still boggles your mind how they manage to survive.
  316. >And you sure as hell weren't about to start growing damn carrots for her.
  317. >Stupid foal was gonna starve in a couple days if you didn't do something.
  318. >If only there was somewhere with food just sitting there for the taking.
  319. >A thought crosses your mind.
  320. >There is ONE place.
  321. >A place near the edge of the woods threatening to invade its space.
  322. >You didn't want to go out there, it wasn't very concealed.
  323. >But if you were fast enough, maybe you could get there and back without anyone noticing.
  324. >It was a solid plan, not like you had any other ideas.
  325. >You gather your weapons, put on what little you can call clothes, and swing your bear skin pouches over your shoulder.
  326. >Sweetie Belle's snores echo in the chamber.
  327. >She might panic if she wakes up with no one around.
  328. >Probably will think you abandoned her.
  329. >One last idea.
  330. >You take a quick step outside the cave and return just as fast.
  331. >With a quick pat on the head, you leave a little "present" with her and head out.
  332.
  333. >The trek there had been easy.
  334. >It was already afternoon.
  335. >You can tell because its sweltering hot out.
  336. >Freeze all night and cook all day.
  337. >Place was getting on your nerves.
  338. >Would take heat over chilling rain any day though.
  339. >Pushing past irritating brush and leaves you arrive at your destination.
  340. >An open field, filled with hundreds...maybe thousands of apple trees.
  341. >You could see a barn a few yards away.
  342. >That was some creature's... home.
  343. >You'd never seen whoever lives there and you planned to keep it that way.
  344. >Had to make this quick, otherwise things would get...complicated.
  345. >Sticking the shaft of your spear between your teeth you climb up the nearest tree.
  346. >Swift as a monkey you're rummaging through the branches picking off fruit by the dozens.
  347. >Had to make sure you grabbed enough to last a week or two.
  348. >Less trips you had to make here the better.
  349. >The higher thinner branches wouldn't support your weight, so you were forced to drop and move to another tree.
  350. >You hoped this wouldn't take long, but soon enough about an hour goes by.
  351. >Repeating the process filled your pouches pretty fast.
  352. >Taking a few more apples in your arms you climb down to rest.
  353. >Tossing your spear down like an oaf, you sit against the tree and eat the few you couldn't carry.
  354. >Apples were one of the few fruits you could enjoy.
  355. >They had that satisfying *crunch* to them in each bite.
  356. >Most of the other fruits you'd find would be filled with nothing but disgusting gel or goop.
  357. >Liquids weren't food.
  358. >But apples were the exception.
  359. >Taking some more, the pile of cores begins to grow beside you.
  360. >So much that you don't notice the other presence walking up to you.
  361. >"Ya'll sure like our apples don't ya..."
  362. >god...damn...it.
  363. >Always.
  364. >While.
  365. >You're FUCKING EATING!
  366. >Being on the ground with heavy sacks weighing you down wasn't your ideal position for confronting a foe.
  367. >You turn to the voice, ready to assess your situation.
  368. >Until you recognize who it is.
  369. >That damn yellow filly with the red mane.
  370. >Sweetie Belle's companion if you remember right.
  371. >"...That's OUR food, ya know! Ya can't just take it willy nilly!"
  372. >Your eyes narrow as you glare at her, picking up another apple and slowly eating it almost in defiance.
  373. >You toss the core in the pile and look at her, almost as if you were saying "And what are you gonna do about it?"
  374. >The arrogant action causes her to be fume in annoyance.
  375. >You watch as she starts confidently stomping toward you.
  376. >She ignores you as you begin to growl in anger.
  377. >"I ain't afraid of you no moar!"
  378. >"This is mah home! Not some spooky forest!"
  379. >"So you're gonna go back or I'm gunna make ya!"
  380. >Anger...rising...
  381. >Who does stupid foal think she is?
  382. >You could gut her and eat her for dinner and you wouldn't even have to break a sweat.
  383. >She walks closer, not even a meter or 2 away now.
  384. >You contemplate why you don't just slice her open like a pastel colored ~pinata~
  385. >The only answer is she's Sweetie Belle's friend.
  386. >You look down.
  387. >Damn it...
  388. shweEtii bellll...
  389. >The filly stops in her tracks, one front hoof left hanging mid step.
  390. >You can't tell if she's surprised that you're talking.
  391. >Or if it's because you remembered that name.
  392. >Her eyes shift nervously from side to side, clearly confused.
  393. >Unsure what to say, she opens her mouth.
  394. >"Do...do you "know" Sweetie Belle?"
  395. >You look at her, showing a mixture of tiredness and boredom, and simply nod.
  396. >The fact you understand her quickly soaks in.
  397. >"Then how do you know her...I mean...aside from that one time."
  398. >You point towards the forest.
  399. ack tung ish nara nya
  400. >"Uh... come again?"
  401. >You shake your head and let out an exaggerated sigh.
  402. >Tossing another core away you pick up another apple and continue eating.
  403. >"I...see..."
  404. >Despite her confusion still apparent on her face, she pushes on.
  405. >"Well...let's see if we can work something out here instead."
  406. >She starts talking to you really slowly like you're some retarded child.
  407. >"Mahhhhh naaaammmme iss Applllle Bllooooooom."
  408. >So insulting, you wanted to smack some sense into her, but you decided to be patient.
  409. aPPllle bLoOoOMmM
  410. >"Yah now yar gettin it!"
  411. >You snort, trying to convey how annoyed you were.
  412. >The sentiment flies over her head.
  413. >"Whaaaat's yourrrr naaaaammme?"
  414. >You stick out your thumb and point it on your chest.
  415. AnOn!
  416. >She squeals like she just taught monkeys to talk.
  417. >"YAY now we're friends!"
  418. >She walks right next to you and holds out a hoof to shake.
  419. >You didn't understand the foreign concept of shaking hands...or "hoofs" as were.
  420. >Instead, you grab it and use that opportunity to thoroughly inspect her.
  421. >Leaning over, you start sniffing her.
  422. >Luckily, she remembered watching you do the same thing with Sweetie Belle, so she just goes with the flow.
  423. >Her body had a light scent of apples, it seemed very faint though.
  424. >Kind of reminded you of apple juice really.
  425. >She lets out a surprised "eep!" as you give her back a quick lick.
  426. >Yup definitely apples.
  427. >You roughly stick your nose in her mane.
  428. >The whole ordeal still creeping her out, she tries to keep calm and allow you to do your thing.
  429. >Smells like... strawberries? Raspberries? Bloody hell some kind of damn fruit.
  430. >A strong lick confirms its sweet and tart taste.
  431. >You added her to the collection of scents in your memory.
  432. >Never knew when it might come in handy.
  433. >You're almost finished when the event is cut short by yet another unwanted visitor.
  434. >An orange mare, with blonde hair, and a fetching cowboy hat stops a short distance away.
  435. >"Fella, you'd best be letting go of mah sis before I havta break ya."
  436.
  437. >You are Sweetie Belle.
  438. >The sun is shining, the birds are chirping...
  439. >..And you feel like you just fought a bear...and lost.
  440. >Your body was completely sore.
  441. >Definitely regret not sleeping on the pillow you brought last night.
  442. >Wait, that's because you already had a pillow didn't you?
  443. >You sit up in a panic.
  444. >Where was he?
  445. >You'd been asleep for at least a few hours.
  446. >He....he didn't leave you did he?
  447. >Standing up, you race to every corner before stepping outside and checking the vicinity.
  448. >No...nonononono!
  449. >Hooves pacing up and down on the spot in panic, you shake your head back and forth trying to deny reality.
  450. >It shouldn't come as a surprise really.
  451. >You came into his home, unannounced, and just expected him to take you in.
  452. >He's probably long gone by now.
  453. >What made you ever think this was a good idea...?
  454. >You wanna sink into depression.
  455. >But something keeps touching your face.
  456. >Something stuck in your mane.
  457. >It's ticklish, but annoying you right now.
  458. >You reach up and grab it, carefully pulling it out.
  459. >It's...a beautiful red lily.
  460. >But how did?
  461. >You start to calm down and hug the flower to your chest.
  462. He does care!
  463. >Finally allowing yourself to relax you think about your situation.
  464. I really did it, I ran away from home.
  465. >Letting the words sink in, you contemplate their true meaning.
  466. It's only a matter of time before Rarity notices I'm missing...
  467. >Shaking your head, you sigh and decide to forget about it.
  468. It doesn't matter, she probably already knows by now anyway.
  469. >You look down at the lily in your hooves and sigh.
  470. I bet she is probably worried about me.
  471. >Your look of sadness turning to one of annoyance, you quickly fasten the flower back to your head and return inside.
  472. Serves her right, maybe now she'll realize how much she misses me.
  473.
  474. >Flashback to this morning.
  475. >You are Rarity.
  476. >And you feel FABULOUS!
  477. >You haven't slept that well in ages.
  478. >The new silk bedsheets you made were like sleeping on a cloud.
  479. >Worth every bit.
  480. I wonder if this is how pegasi feel every morning.
  481. >You stretch and sit up, everything just feels right.
  482. >As you yawn, you look at the clock sitting on your bed rest.
  483. >...
  484. I'm... lllllLLAAAAAATTTEEEE!!!
  485. >Birds scatter from a tree, spooked by the sound of your shrill voice as you run downstairs.
  486. Oh Rarity you fool, how did you possibly sleep in on today of all days!?
  487. >Gathering your supplies you yell upstairs.
  488. Sweetie Belle! I'm late for my appointment with my new client. There's no school today so come down when you feel like it. I've left breakfast on the table, you may have ONE snack and no more understood? I'll see you when I get home tonight. Byyyyye!
  489. >With a quick slam of the door you run off to meet that new buyer from Canterlot.
  490. Oh I hope Sweetie isn't mad...
  491. >A jumbled mess of thoughts race through your head.
  492. >Fueled by panic and anxiety, you rush past as the rope hanging from her window goes unnoticed...
  493.
  494. >Back to the present.
  495. >You are Anon.
  496. >And these ponies are starting to piss you off.
  497. >You let out a snarl at the newcomer.
  498. >If she wanted a fight you were gonna give her one.
  499. >The orange mare was getting ready, scratching the ground and looking like a bull ready to charge.
  500. >"Wait! Stop!"
  501. >The mare looks back up, a bit confused.
  502. >You don't lose your focus, this new mare is a threat and you will treat her as such.
  503. >Applebloom starts tapping you, trying to get your attention.
  504. >You grunt to let her know your listening, but your eyes stay focused on your opponent, contemplating whether it would be easier to use your spear or fight with your bare hands.
  505. >"That's mah sis, please don't fight."
  506. >Your eyes take a quick glance at the filly.
  507. >Then you point at the mare.
  508. ick bin dara coon.
  509. >The mare tries to "reply" to your gesture.
  510. >"If ya'll don't let her go this instant, things are gunna get mighty messy ya hear?"
  511. >Starting to panic a little, Applebloom pipes up.
  512. >"She's just scared Anon, she don't mean no harm!"
  513. >...A moment passes.
  514. >With a low grumble you let Applebloom go.
  515. >You watch as the mare visibly begins to relax as the filly trots back over.
  516. >"Oh Applebloom ya had me so worried, I thought that there critter was gonna eat ya for sure!"
  517. >Applebloom puts on a sad pouting face.
  518. >"He wasn't gunna eat me, he's mah friend!"
  519. >The mare takes a few second to look at you and then back to the foal.
  520. >"Uh sugarcube, have you seen the size of that critter? I wouldn't be surprised if he gobbled you up fer breakfast!"
  521. >She leans past Applebloom and takes another gander at you...and the pile of apples you sacrificed to the stomach gods.
  522. >"Bugger sure does like dem apples doesn't he?"
  523. >Your only reply is a gruff snort.
  524. >"His name is Anon."
  525. >The look she gives her little sister is one of complete blatant skepticism.
  526. >"...Say what now?"
  527. >Applebloom rolls her eyes.
  528. >"I'll show you."
  529. >She turns around and addresses you.
  530. >"Anon, what's mah name?"
  531. >This was ticking you off, like you were some kind of show monkey at the circus.
  532. aPPlllle BllloOoOm.
  533. >The orange mare stood there, eyes wide, jaw dropped.
  534. >"And your name is Anon correct?"
  535. >You nod slowly, patience wearing thin.
  536. >"And this here is mah sis Applejack. Aaaapple Jaaaaaaaack"
  537. >Swear your gonna smack that filly if she slow talks to you again.
  538. >You look at the orange mare instead.
  539. aPPlllle JaAaAck
  540. >Applejack's face scrunches up as you say her name in your creepy manner.
  541. >"He's really smart! I think he might even be as smart as we are!"
  542. >Almost as smart as a talking horse...its like she's trying to make you angry.
  543. >"Well now that's a mighty fine trick ya taught him there sugarcube, but ah think training giant monkeys is more Fluttershy's thang."
  544. >Fluttershy...
  545. >You remember her, it seemed these two were acquainted.
  546. ash nik dan Flutta Shai
  547. >They both stare at you and blink for a moment.
  548. >Applebloom squeaks excitedly.
  549. >"You know Fluttershy too Anon!?"
  550. >You grunt and nod.
  551. >Applejack furrows her brow and mutters to herself.
  552. >"Gosh darn it Fluttershy, when you find a new creature ya'll are supposed to let everp0ny know about it."
  553. >Then a sudden realization comes to her.
  554. >"Applebloom..."
  555. >Her eyes narrow ominously.
  556. >"Where did ya find this here...critter?"
  557. >You could tell what she was thinking.
  558. >Even you knew this wasn't gonna end well.
  559. >Applebloom looks away nervously.
  560. >"The...heheh...Everfree...forest...heheheh."
  561. >The orange mare's face quickly shifted into an angry frown.
  562. >"Now WHAT in the hay were you doing in the Everfree forest!?"
  563. >Shifting nervously, she tries to stammer out a reply.
  564. >"Uh...well...ya see we were trying to get our cutie marks and-"
  565. >You tune out the sounds of their inane little conversation.
  566. >Something had caught your attention.
  567. >Digging right into your senses.
  568. >The two of them were starting to get into a heated argument.
  569. >Not even bothering to pay attention as you circled around behind Applejack.
  570. >That smell...its her isn't it.
  571. >"How many times do ah haveta tell ya NOT to go in that gosh darn forest Applebloom?"
  572. >She hadn't even noticed you were smelling her mane yet.
  573. >It smelled like hay...that wasn't where that other scent was coming from.
  574. >Applebloom was watching, trying hard to stifle a laugh.
  575. >"Oh, so Ya'll think this is funny then?"
  576. >"Pfft n-n-naw sis, its just that-"
  577. >Where was it coming from, that delicious apple cinnamon scent.
  578. >"Ya need tah learn that when we tell ya not to do something its because we c-c-aaaAAAHH WHAT IN TARNATION!?!?"
  579. >You were already nose deep in her muff before she clued in to the situation.
  580. >Oh god, it was like sticking your face in a delicious, freshly baked, apple cinnamon pie.
  581. >You managed to give it just one taste before you were rewarded with a swift kick to the face, causing you to fall straight onto your ass.
  582. >Grasping your chin, you check to see the damage.
  583. >Your jaw feels like it was hit with a brick, but nothing's broken.
  584. >Applejack had a look of just plain surprise more than anything, though she didn't seem to pleased about it.
  585. >"What in Celestia's name was THAT?"
  586. >Applebloom was rolling on the ground laughing.
  587. >"Ah think he likes yah sis!"
  588. >She watches as you stand back up and start sniffing the rest of Applejack like an overly friendly puppy.
  589. >"Well he sure has a straaange way of showin' it."
  590. >They both look at each other and start giggling.
  591. >Finished with your frisking, you remember what you came here for in the first place.
  592. >The sun was starting to set and the sky was being painted orange.
  593. >As you go to pick up your spoils of war Applejack calls out to you.
  594. >"Ya'll can have dem apples on the house, but next time you best be paying ya hear?"
  595. >You swing the pouches over your shoulder and grunt.
  596. >As if she could order you around.
  597. >If you need more you'll take more.
  598. >That's the law of the wild.
  599. >Applebloom looks at you with sad puppy dog eyes.
  600. >"W-where are ya goin' Anon?"
  601. >You point back towards the forest.
  602. >"Will I get to see ya again?"
  603. >You don't bother answering and start walking.
  604. >"C-come back and play soon."
  605. >You reach the edge of the brush.
  606. >A yell reaches you from the distance
  607. >"Y-Ya'll ahr welcome back here anytime ya hear!"
  608. >You look back and see the filly waving with her tiny arm.
  609. >You have no idea why fillies seem to like you so much.
  610. >Fucking mysteries.
  611. >You turn around and disappear into the woods.
  612.
  613. >You are Rarity.
  614. >And this day couldn't POSSIBLY get any worse.
  615. >You spent all evening with that snob of an upper class, kissing up and trying to woo him into a big business deal.
  616. >Only to find out he made his fortune selling that GOD AWFUL thrift-ware!
  617. >That contract would've made a pretty penny, maybe have even finished the expansion to your boutique.
  618. >But you would not be caught dead putting YOUR name and such disgusting excuses for clothes.
  619. >You had standards!
  620. >Even if those standards meant you'd be eating grass next week...
  621. >You'd make sure Sweetie got her proper nutrition at least.
  622. >Your mind drifts back to Sweetie Belle.
  623. Ohhh I hope she still isn't mad at me.
  624. >Thoughts of the previous night replay in your mind.
  625. I only want what's best for her.
  626. >Other ponies stare at you as you talk to yourself, but you're to preoccupied to notice.
  627. Maybe a whole month was a little...harsh.
  628. >You recall how she cried when you yelled at her.
  629. I was just so worried last night, maybe I should just apologize.
  630. >Contemplating how to make it up to her, you arrive at a decision.
  631. I know! I'll make her favorites for dinner, she'll be so happy she'll just HAVE to forgive me.
  632. >You check how much bits you have left.
  633. >It was gonna be tight this month...but you had to be strong.
  634. >This was for Sweetie Belle!
  635. >You arrived at home, it was already getting late in the evening.
  636. >She must be starving by now...
  637. >You try and boost your morale back up before depression gets to you.
  638. >Stepping inside, you start setting your belongings down as you call out.
  639. Sweetie, I'm home!
  640. >You're answered with silence.
  641. ...Oh I'm sorry dear I didn't mean for it to get this late but I-
  642. >And there you saw it.
  643. >Breakfast had been left there untouched, completely cold by now.
  644. >Furious, you rush upstairs and start knocking on her door.
  645. Sweetie! You simply HAVE to eat something! You mustn't skip meals just because you're a little grumpy.
  646. >The eerie silence continues.
  647. Sweetie? ...Sweetie answer me darling...I'm not mad anymore.
  648. >An ominous feeling takes hold of you.
  649. ...sweetie?
  650. >You slowly push open the door.
  651. >A chilling wind blows past you.
  652. Why in Equestria is it freez-
  653. >The room is empty, completely untouched.
  654. >Save for one minor detail.
  655. >The window is wide open, the purple drapes swaying in the breeze.
  656. >You stumble a bit, fighting off the urge to faint where you stand.
  657. >Panic starts to settle in.
  658. >You run to the window, a mish-mashed rope hanging outside.
  659. >With a long deep breathe, you scream.
  660. SWEETIE BELLLLLLLLLLLLE!!!!
  661.
  662. >It was getting late.
  663. >You'd already spent hours asking anyp0ny who'd listen if they'd seen Sweetie.
  664. >The answer was always the same.
  665. >"Haven't seen her since school the other day"
  666. >"Haven't seen her since that that time they thought fireworks might be their special talent"
  667. >"Haven't seen her since-"
  668. >You couldn't decide if you should be sad or angry.
  669. >Twilight had been studying alone in her house since last week.
  670. >Pinkie was off being...Pinkie somewhere.
  671. >And Rainbow had only seen Scootaloo...a little more than she'd care to admit.
  672. >Does no pony in this entire town pay any attention to anything besides themselves?
  673. >Fillies don't just disappear into thin air!
  674. >It was a bit of a walk to Sweet Apple Acres.
  675. >Fluttershy was all the way at the edge of the woods so you decided that you'd visit her last.
  676. >Hopefully Applejack could shed some light on your worries.
  677. >You knock on the Apples' door.
  678.
  679. >It opens with a loud creak.
  680. >Granny Smith is there to greet you.
  681. H-hello Mrs.Smith~
  682. >She adjusts her glasses and squints her eyes at you before popping open with sudden clarity.
  683. >"W-w-Well HAIii thar missy what can I do for ya this evening?"
  684. >Trying your best to keep up the pleasantries, you smile and pop her the question you've been asking all night.
  685. I was wondering if you had seen Sweetie Belle recently.
  686. >Wrenching a hoof in her ear, she replies back to you in confusion.
  687. >"Wazat? Feetie Smell? I'll have you know I make sure ta smell laik a fresh summer mornin' every day."
  688. >You facepalm and stifle a groan.
  689. N-no Mrs.Smith, Sweeti-Actually can I just speak with Applejack please?
  690. >"Huh? Flapjack? Well-"
  691. APPLE...JACK
  692. >Her ears perk up as she looks at you with sudden understanding.
  693. >"Ohhh Applejack, well why didn't ya say so deary?"
  694. >She lets you come inside as she goes to find Applejack.
  695. >You heave and great audible sigh once you were alone.
  696. >Patience wasn't one of your strong suits.
  697. >Applejack arrives, wearing a cute little nightcap instead of her trademark cowboy hat.
  698. >"Well hey thar' sugarcube, what brings ya around these parts at this time of night?"
  699. Going to bed so soon darling?
  700. >She gives you a smile and chirps proudly.
  701. >"Early ta bed, early ta rise!"
  702. >She thumbs her chest for emphasis.
  703. How...quaint, anyway I wanted to know if you've seen Sweetie Belle today.
  704. >Putting a hoof to her chin, she seemingly gets lost in thought.
  705. >"Well shucks Rare, Ah've been apple bucking all day long. Haven't had much time ta stroll around town if ya know what Ah mean."
  706. >You quickly become crestfallen again.
  707. I...I see...
  708. >Seeing the sad look on your face, your companion tries to cheer you up.
  709. >"Ah'll tell ya what, why don't we go'n see if Applebloom might know where she is."
  710. >She starts walking upstairs, motioning you to follow.
  711. >"I reckon she'll have an idea, them two are like peas in a pod."
  712. >A small weak smile manages to sneak across your face.
  713. Oh I hope so dear...
  714. >You follow her to Applebloom's room.
  715. >Applejack knocks on the door, causing the little "AB" emblem hanging from it to shake.
  716. >"Sugarcube, Rarity is here ta see ya, mind if we step in for a few minutes?"
  717. >You hear a muffled "just a minute!" followed by loud sounds of things crashing and being rearranged.
  718. >"Come iiiiin!"
  719. >You and Applejack step inside.
  720. >The room was spotless, but you knew better.
  721. >All manner of things had been hidden behind dressers and closets.
  722. >Sweetie Belle does the same thing.
  723. >But that doesn't matter right now.
  724. >Applejack takes initiative and speaks first.
  725. >"Rarity here was wondering if you'd seen Sweetie Belle recently"
  726. >She looks at you and then back up to her sister, worry forming on her face.
  727. >"Whai?"
  728. >Walking over to her, you kneel down to her level.
  729. Because she sneaked out last night and hasn't been home since.
  730. >You let out a depressed sigh.
  731. I'm dreadfully worried...
  732. >She gives you an odd expression, she must be thinking.
  733. >"I'm sorry Ms.Rarity, I've been playing on the farm all day today."
  734. >She makes a sad face.
  735. >"Why the only ones I've seen today are Applejack and..."
  736. >Her eyes go wide and stops talking.
  737. >Suspicious...
  738. Applebloom, who else did you see today besides your sister dear?
  739. >Her face scrunches up, clearly she wasn't going to talk.
  740. >Applejack decides to step in.
  741. >"Well ya see Rare, we kinda...encountered a walking...talking...critter from the Everfree."
  742. >...What?
  743. >"Applebloom was havin' a little "chat" with it while it ate all our dang apples!"
  744. >She gives the filly a disapproving glare.
  745. >Applebloom glares right back.
  746. >"Just because he's big an scary doesn't mean he hasta starve!"
  747. >She brings out her trademarked frown of disapproval.
  748. >"That doesn't mean he can just up and take our hard work!"
  749. >Applebloom begins to give her sister the sad puppy eyes.
  750. >"But he's our fwiend..."
  751. >Patience wearing thin, you decide its time to cut in.
  752. What do you mean by "OUR" friend, Applebloom?
  753. >The room is silenced.
  754. >You stare at her sternly, waiting for her reaction.
  755. >"Uhh yah see..."
  756. >Before her little sister can waste more time filibustering, Applejack butts in.
  757. >"Didn't ya say you and the others found him in the forest on another cutiemark crusade?"
  758. >She looks up at the orange mare nervously, sweat beginning to form on her brow as she tries to whisper out a reply.
  759. >"W-W-Well ya but-"
  760. >That was it, you tuned everything else out.
  761. >The sudden horrifying epiphany was threatening to make you faint.
  762. >Sweetie was in the Everfree.
  763.
  764. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoiV7c46C1A)
  765.
  766. >You are Anon.
  767. >And you've almost made it back to your den.
  768. >The sky was pitch black out.
  769. >Finding the trail home was easy enough.
  770. >There was no way you'd get lost in your own territory.
  771. >You had claimed this land.
  772. >Lugging these pouches across the forest was a pain though.
  773. >It better have been worth it.
  774. >You feel the familiar sensation of cold stone on your feet as you step back into your home.
  775. >There was no noise aside from the sounds of creatures of the night.
  776. >She must be asleep already.
  777. >It was hard to see, but you still had the eerie florescent glow of the mushroom you called a "lamp".
  778. >You wondered how Sweetie Belle had fared without you.
  779. >Shining some light sheds the ghostly blue hue onto her.
  780. >It looked like she had made a "nest" of her own; a bundle of cloths, blankets, and pillows set in a neat little arrangement.
  781. >Gentle snores could be heard as she laid on it.
  782. >She must have cleaned herself up.
  783. >Her mane had been removed of debris and the mud she had been caked in was washed off completely.
  784. >And clutched to her chest was a little flower.
  785. >That was the first time you had smiled in ages, you were glad she enjoyed the present.
  786. >With a loud yawn, you settle the pouches down next to her bags.
  787. >You flop down on your bed next to hers and sigh contently.
  788. >Tomorrow would be a good day, you were sure of it.
  789. >Closing your eyes, you relax and let your mind drift off to sleep.
  790.
  791. >You don't know how many hours its been.
  792. >But its still night.
  793. >And something has woken you up.
  794. >Your instincts are never wrong, something suspicious is here.
  795. >Grasping your spear you get ready to strike.
  796. >You weren't letting some stupid fucking forest creature eat Sweetie Belle after being with you for just one day.
  797. >Heart rate increasing, your palms getting sweaty as you try to silence your breath.
  798. >Who would make the first move?
  799. >It starts moving closer.
  800. >A loud *clack* is heard as it accidentally kicks a small pebble.
  801. >That was your cue.
  802. >With lightning reflexes you stand up hurl your spear...
  803. >Only to see it freeze in mid-air.
  804. >The logic defying occurrence stuns you for a minute.
  805. >So much that you're caught off guard.
  806. >In your lapse of focus you're assaulted with a burning sensation as you're lifted into the air by invisible hands.
  807. >You struggle futilely, enraged as your body feels like its being bombarded with needles.
  808. ACK DARA KEN PRA DANA SHARA KAW!!!!
  809. >Sweetie Belle, woken up by your shouts, begins screaming in terror.
  810. >"PLEASE, PLEASE DON'T HURT HIM!"
  811. >You seethe with unbridled anger.
  812. >The creature doesn't reply, but instead gives a different answer.
  813. >With a loud *crack* the invisible hands slam you against the hard floor, ending your misery.
  814. >The last thing you see is a foreboding light glowing on the creature's head as Sweetie Belle tries to speak tearful words you can no longer hear...
