- Looking for some reader input on Fallen Exterminator. Should they be a boy or a girl? I started off with them being an it to drive home the idea of them lacking a sense of identity, but as I work on this chapter I realize I'm getting close to the point where I'm going to make a decision on that and stop just milking that angle.

- They do appear to have a girlish silhouette, so girl. Alternatively, have them simply not understand what gender is and slowly they learn what it is as their individuality develops?

- They're probably fairly androgynous, being largely artificial beings. It seems to understand biological sex, but gender is a bit more complex matter.

- I've been writing the story with the thought in the back of my head that they're androgynous enough that none of the demons around them really have their gender at the forefront of their minds either. They see them first and foremost as a probable murderer, hence them referring to #382 as it/them. If I end up with them being a girl, which is looking like what I'll do now, I guess that implies they're modest enough in the hips/bust that no one is really thinking about that.
