- FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE - PC FILE LOCATIONS (Steam)
- ================================================================
- Steam AppID: 1462040
- 1. SAVE FILES
- -------------
- C:\Users\<YourName>\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE\Steam\<SteamID64>\
- Files you'll find inside:
- ff7remake030.sav - main game save slot
- ff7remakecommon.sav - shared/common data
- ff7remakeplus017.sav - "plus" = EPISODE INTERmission (Yuffie DLC)
- Notes:
- - If OneDrive redirects your Documents folder, look in:
- C:\Users\<YourName>\OneDrive\Documents\My Games\...
- - Epic version uses the same base path but with "EOS" instead of "Steam":
- ...\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE\EOS\<random ID>\
- Saves can be copied between the two by swapping the folder.
- - Steam Cloud copies can be downloaded from:
- 2. CONFIG AND LOGS
- ------------------
- C:\Users\<YourName>\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE\Saved\
- Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\ - Engine.ini, Input.ini (Unreal loose config)
- Saved\Logs\ - engine / crash logs, if present
- Notes:
- - The Config\WindowsNoEditor folder often does NOT exist until you create it.
- Square Enix locked the real configs inside PAK files, so loose INI loading
- normally requires FFVIIHook.
- - This is the Engine.ini that modding guides refer to. Do not confuse it with
- the Engine.ini inside the game install folder.
- 3. GAME INSTALL FOLDER
- ----------------------
- ...\Steam\steamapps\common\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE\
- End\Content\Paks\ - game data; create a "~mods" folder here for PAK mods
- End\Binaries\Win64\ - ff7remake_.exe, and where DLL hooks (FFVIIHook) go
- End\Config\ - the OTHER Engine.ini (not the one mods use)
- _CommonRedist\ - VC++ / DirectX runtimes (installed system-wide)
- 4. SHADER CACHES
- ----------------
- ...\Steam\steamapps\shadercache\1462040\ - Steam's cache for this game
- %LOCALAPPDATA%\NVIDIA\DXCache\ - shared across all games
- %LOCALAPPDATA%\AMD\ - shared across all games
- %LOCALAPPDATA%\D3DSCache\ - shared across all games
- All of these are safe to delete; they rebuild automatically.
- 5. SHARED WITH OTHER GAMES?
- ---------------------------
- There is no Square Enix launcher on the Steam version - no SE account, no
- shared client. Nothing is written to the registry or to AppData\Roaming.
- What IS shared is generic only:
- - "Documents\My Games\" is a common parent folder. FF7 Rebirth, FF16, FFXIV
- and many non-Square games each get their own subfolder there. Shared roof,
- separate data.
- - _CommonRedist runtimes and the GPU shader caches listed above.
- ONE REAL CROSS-GAME LINK:
- FF7 Rebirth reads Remake's saves from
- Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE\
- to grant the Leviathan and Ramuh summon materia. Leviathan requires a main
- story save; Ramuh requires an INTERmission (Yuffie DLC) save.
- => Do not delete that folder if you plan to play Rebirth, even after you're
- finished with Remake. Back it up.
- QUICK BACKUP
- ------------
- Copy the whole folder:
- C:\Users\<YourName>\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE\
- That single folder contains saves, config, and logs - everything that isn't
- reinstallable.
