  1. Rules and setting for ##Narxian_Refuge
  2.
  3. Keyholder: genocideImminent
  4.
  5. Setting: http://imgur.com/6X0dxWB (excuse how terribly done it is)
  6.
  7. World map, globe, and calendar for the month: https://imgur.com/a/WeiYU
  8.
  9. Before we go over any of the basic rules, here are the Official Pesterchum Rules:
  10. BANNABLE OFFENSES:
  11. 1. We will not tolerate attempts to ERP or any other NSFW behavior with unwilling chums or in public memos. (Anything in the comic is considered SFW.)
  12. 2. No racist or homophobic or otherwise hateful handles or speech.
  13. 3. Do not attempt to impersonate any user.
  14. 4. If a user has blocked you, do not attempt to harass them by circumventing it.
  15. 5. Repeated and chronic abuse of the canon rules.
  16. 6. Spamming users or memos excessively.
  17. 7. Repeatedly rejoining memos you are kicked from.
  18. 8. Running intrusive bots.
  19. Bannable offenses can carry a ban of anywhere from a day to forever, depending on severity.
  20.
  21. Onward to the memo rules!
  22.
  23. This is a Homestuck memo. While we're not 100% strictly canon, we will not be accepting heavily mutated characters.
  24.
  25. No fucking fan-tiers. Ever.
  26.
  27. It should be noted that this memo's universe has no connection or interaction with the universes of any other memo, unless you OOCly decide to make your and your friend's characters know each other from previous encounters.
  28.
  29. Any trolls under the age of 10 sweeps, will had to have gotten here, through more than likely magical means, or a teleportation gone wrong. There are NO grubs or wigglers on this planet. They would be eaten almost instantly. You cannot be born here if you're a troll. Humans and the native population are fine, to have children. As far as lusii are concerned, they cannot be here, unless they are transported from a troll colony planet/Alternia. Small lusii would be killed, though, so only larger, more than likely, predatory lusii, could survive.
  30.
  31. You must enter your character into the setting via a /me action. If you need assistance as a new RPer, or just need help in general, please consult the mods or key, or even fellow RPers. I'm sure they would be willing to help out.
  32.
  33. Obviously no power playing or god modding. This means pretty much don't force someone's character into doing something.
  34. Ex. He punches the girl and she is knocked out.
  35.
  36. Breaking the meta! Pretty simple. Don't use knowledge in character that you've gained from out of character means. Such as someone's name, god tier, their favorite food. Whatever. Please do not do this, because it gets annoying.
  37.
  38. Your powers must be explainable, as are your actions. If you're a jade blood, there is no reason they should be able to use chucklevoodoos, or a purple being able to glow like a rainbow drinker. If your character can pick up something of unreasonably heavy weight, that has to be able to be explained through logical means.
  39.
  40. As a side note, science things will be regulated. If you have an invention, but cannot explain it in some way logically, or even have a slight clue about how it works, it will have to be removed.
  41. Ex. A device that allows you to swap species, gender, etc.
  42.
  43. While strifing, we adhere to a general "three dodge" policy. It's common courtesy to not auto dodge, or deflect everything in a strife, so, after three turns of doing as such, it's usually enforced to at least take a partial hit of some kind. Keep in mind, you don't need to take a full hit every single time in a strife, your character
  44.
  45. No. You cannot roleplay a first guardian.
  46.
  47. In the main memos and offshoot memos, try to keep it to mild NSFW. I can't control what you do at 3am, but at peak times, please do not be pailing in a tree outside. Thank you.
  48.
  49. Please, do not use extremely offensively colored texts, such as, white, highlighter yellow, burn your eyes out blue, neon green, etc.
  50.
  51.
  52. All punishment doled out from breaking this rules will be administered and decided upon the offense actually happening. Every situation is unique, and should be handled with logical discretion.
  53.
  54. Memo canons as far as certain abilities are concerned:
  55.
  56. 1. Psionics in the sense of kinetics: While these can ranged from basic telekinesis, to pyrokinetics, aerokinetics, and, almost any varying type of in between ability fathomable, these skills are only available to burgundy, umber, and ochre trolls, and all variations of those castes. It is also allowed that ceruleans may, in very rare cases, have psionics as well. Although obviously, they are going to be significantly weakened, and harder to maintain.
  57. 2. Mind control: Afforded to only ceruleans.
  58. 3: Mind control of beasts: Afforded only to umbers.
  59. 4. Chucklevoodoos: Afforded only to purple blooded trolls. This is, as I have interpreted, a form of telepathy. All trolls below purple are affected by this ability, and, presumably humans as well. Along with other species that have no way to set up a complete mental block. It seems the only exception to this, would potentially be a Mind or Rage player, depending on the class. They may have a built up tolerance to the fear tactics, but, they are not immune to the act itself, so they will still experience the effects, though may not outwardly show them. The voodoos are able to transmit images, sounds and emotions. It is probably comparable to the mental aspect of the Uchiha's Sharingan from Naruto. Able to make you feel and see things that aren't actually there. This is, from what I can tell, a sensible way they could control the masses, although this is not completely canon, it is the accepted canon of the memo.
  60. 5. "Equius" strength: Afforded only to indigo bloods
  61.
  62. Base levels of troll strength in this memo are set on a 1.5x scaling. So, your character is one and a half times stronger, physically, than the caste below them, and, obviously the reverse is true for the caste above them. We have set humans on the same level as burgundy blooded trolls, for simplicity's sake. Of course also make adjustments for how active your character is, if they have a skinny twig body, or, are akin to a body builder type.
  63.
  64. Other canons not strictly specified by the comic are up for debate, but, the final decision is left to the keyholder.
  65.
  66. Onto the SETTING!
  67.
  68. Who knows the means by which you got here, but you're here for a reason. If it's to hide from the Empire, or because you're hiding from the resistance. You need a "vacation", or you want a change of scenery, this probably isn't the place for you. The planet is in a state of perpetual darkness. While this is a fact, the planet is far from lacking in light. Most of the organisms on this orb emit a slight bio-luminescence. The trees have veins of blue that pulse lightly with their energy, and these lines trail off into the ground. The grass, emitting a soft hum of the same shade. It seems most plants glow in this way, although flowers vary in color. Even the animals shine in various places. Deer, from their antlers, snakes, in soft patterns along their spine, and the birds with their shining wings. Be wary though, traveler, some predators can turn off this feature.
  69.
  70. Upon your descent as you were flying in, or, however else you might of *magically* got here, you noticed things. Like how the planet is situated near a blue and purple nebula, or how the sun is a small, blue star, barely emitting any light at all. The temperature of the planet is relatively normal though. A cooler, 68 degrees almost consistently. Not bad, right? Surrounding the city is a dense forest, with clearings here and there, a few lakes, and rivers. Normal, woodsy stuff. Farther to the north seems to be mountains, capped in snow. They trail down, spanning about half the planet, ranging from snowed in, to lush and glowy like the forest near the city. If you look towards the south, this seems to be one of the only areas that's actually almost pitch black. You cannot tell, but these are the wastelands. The most dangerous part of the planet, and where the notorious criminals hide. I would not recommend you exploring down that way.
  71.
  72. This planet is far from safe. With horse sized wolves, and snakes that can swallow you whole, it is ill advised to travel alone. Needless to say, friend, the city is well defended! A monument jutting from the ground. A testament to all that we have accomplished here on this hostile plane. A metropolis, an oasis, among this savage realm. This place bustles with all kinds. Humans, trolls, cherubs. Even some local races of beings from nearby star clusters and planetary systems. While our home is dangerous, it is flourishing. We receive many... Rough types of people. Outlaws, mostly, seem to function normally. Well. Almost. There is no police force, no one to enforce laws. We function by respecting each other, and each other's boundaries. Be warned, if you cross someone, you're likely to be killed; or at least maimed. So try not to get into too much trouble.
  73.
  74. Full stop. Zoom in. Closer. Closer. There we go. Here. On the outskirts of this large city, we come across a hive. Normal, right? Yeah. Sure. That's what you think.
  75.
  76. A huge, Victorian styled hive stands before you. It's large. Very... Very large. Why the hell would someone build a hive this large? Oh. There is a sign out front. "Welcome Center". It bustles with.. Surprisingly little activity, for the official welcome center of this planet. Hey now, traveler, head on up to the porch and go inside why don't you? Good reader. I'm proud of you. You open the reinforced steel door. That's weird. Reinforced steel? Perhaps they have some, issues around these parts. Continue anyways! Slip inside. Traveler. Examine your surroundings.
  77.
  78. Well, there isn't much inside this room. It's just a foyer for your shoes, and your coat. Deeper. Head down the hall. You move forward down the hall. Despite the exterior, the inside is incredibly modern. The walls are colored a shade of moonlight, or pearl. White, but not really. It's sparse of decorations, until the hallway opens up to a living room area. You passed some doors on the way, yet, they all seemed to be closed. Hm. The spacious living room is also very sparse. At least, it's not really what you would expect. There is an incredibly large flat screen hung up on a far wall, beneath it, videogame consoles of all make and model. Very neatly arranged on shelves. On a perpendicular wall, a book case is set up. Except one, it takes up most of the expanse of the wall, and two, it's completely filled with videogames. Damn near anything you can imagine. Hold up there. Take your eyes off of this sweet fuckin' loot for a minute. Turn. There we go. Don't get distracted by awesome stuff, friend. We're not done yet.
  79.
  80. There are two of the wrap around, L shaped couches, pushed together to form a U shape. It's pretty much a rectangle. You could fit a lot of people in here. Talk about the parties! A large coffee table is set in the middle, obviously for you to put your feet onto. Is that mahogany? It's totally mahogany. Let's keep looking around. Bean bag chair, check. Recliner, check. Bar stocked full of liquor shoved into the corner? Check. There's a few doors that are actually open around here. One, to what appears to be a bathroom. Conveniently located behind the bar. Remember kids, don't break the seal. The other door? Move over and peer inside. Oh. It's the kitchen. Large, and very chrome. So much fuckin' chrome. The appliances seem brand new, along with the dining room table and chairs. An island with the stove and oven in it is situated in the middle. Nice. Whoever made this place didn't spare any expense, and obviously they love to cook. Turn around. There's two sets of stairs, one going up, and one going down. I wonder where those go. Hmm. Maybe we should find someone that runs this place, you think?
  81.
  82. If you go upstairs, it's just a long, impossibly long hallway of doors, with chalkboards on them. Many of these doors have names on them. Inside would be the rooms for people to stay in. The bedrooms would be almost completely identical, save for, some having beds, some having recuperacoons, and, some have both. The rest of the furniture is the same. A desk, and chair, a bookshelf, with a reading chair. There's a dresser, a nightstand by the bed, or a taller, adapted version of a nightstand set up by the 'coon, if there is one. There's a small walk in closet, in every room, as well as a moderately sized bathroom. One might begin to wonder how all of this fits in here.
  83.
  84. Downstairs, is a very short hallway, containing three doors; one directly ahead, which is again made of that reinforced steel, and, has a keypad next to it, then, on either side, a wooden door. The door to the right, is a small exercise room, with a treadmill, bike, and some weights to life. The one on the left, would be the laundry room. It is apparent the room behind the steel door is off limits, seeing as that one doesn't open at all.
  85.
  86. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  87.
  88. Side notes:
  89.
  90. The planet does very, very slowly revolve around a dead star, a white dwarf, but receives no substantial light from it. All the energy actually comes from within the planet itself, as well as the heating to keep the planet a sustainable temperature. It's all done through geothermal means. There is also a singular moon, of a small size, orbiting the planet. It isn't very visible, only really when it passes in front of the stars, or the nebula, since it only reflects a dim denim color.
  91.
  92. The weather systems on this planet are sparse. It does rain, on occasion, which, is how snow is maintained on the mountains all parlon long. Otherwise, the planet has a completely temperate climate, with no humidity to really worry about. (There is a calendar depicting when it will rain every month.)
  93.
  94. There is a lake, in the forest a few miles from the main metropolis. It's fairly large, and filled with various types of fish (and, varying colors). They, along with all the wildlife in or around the lake, including the plants, and small microorganisms within the lake, emit the same bio-luminescence as everything else on this place.
  95.
  96. There are also are a few rivers that cut through the forest, along with, of course, streams, brooks, ect. The rivers lead to the ocean, though.
  97.
  98. Also, an ocean is to the east, about 40 miles out from the city. It is similar to the lake, in the sense that the fish congregate together, into groups, and move around as a rainbow-y, glowing mass. The water, seems to shimmer, glittery, with the small multicellular organisms inhabiting this liquid. The bodies of water here honestly look like lava lamps with glitter in them. Also, the sharks in the water do not attack things that do not glow. If you follow the road going to this place, it will lead you up, to cliffs, over hanging the ocean, there is a path, along the length of these rocky walls, that leans down, to the sandy area of the beach. The sand has it's own sort of glittery look to it, although, it is much more subtle and sparse, compared to the visual texture of the ocean.
  99.
  100. If you head your way to the northwest of the city, at the base of one of the mountains, you may find a very well hidden, distinct opening here. Going inside, you will find a large, cavernous area, filled with crystals, and rocks. These minerals glow in all shades of color, which cut through them, like lightning through the sky. These gems are embedded into the walls, and the floor, softly lighting the room with it's tillan'ri, as the locals would say. The cave is large, and deep, and there are various tunnels going deeper into the mountain. Evidence of wildlife living here is apparent, though, so be careful.
  101.
  102. The mountains, at least the snowy ones, lay at least a good five hundred miles to the north, and extend for at least twice that distance. The lush forests around the base of them would gradually go up, dusting with snow at first, before the snow gets deeper, and deeper. There are the occasional caves and rocky out croppings up here.
  103.
  104. The wastelands, or Wastes, as the locals call them, are a large open space that spans for it seems endless amounts of miles, when in fact, it's probably only a few thousand, realistically. The forest abruptly drops off, fading into something like a savanna, grasslands, with very few trees, and almost no real water source, save, a few small watering holes. Here, are where bandits, and ravagers live, not able to adequately export the supplies they need, they have to stay close enough to the city to go buy what they need. After about three hundred miles, the grasslands turn into this rocky, eroded desert. Imagine the American southwest. Large, flat, open areas, with plateaus, and pillars of rock. It's about ten degrees cooler here, than the forested area of the planet. There are no trees for insulation, so most of the heat seeping out of the ground disperses into the thick atmosphere. Although, there are in some more dangerous areas, places where the ground cracks open, and toxic gasses are released. You do not want to breathe those in, obviously. And very rarely, as there are only maybe a dozen of these sites in total, where, the ground is literally split open, and you can see the glow from the inner mantle showing.
  105.
  106. Buried into these areas, are where the real adversaries exist. Larger organizations of criminals stay here. You will find entire encampments of them, although, they are beginning to rival actual towns. Permanent structures added to the landscape, these criminals can afford to ship necessary supplies out to this area, like water, and food. They can easily place their ships, buggies, and any other modes of transportation down in this place, since there are so many open areas. Their numbers are hard to distinguish, currently. It could vary from a few hundred to potentially a few thousand. It just depends where you are looking. Although, if you do come here, expect highblooded trolls to be present, as well as mercenary god tiers to be hired on as protection. It is a very dangerous place, and not recommended. If you want a fight though, please, go on ahead. These criminals are completely armed, and have no issues taking on combatants.
  107.
  108. Small outcroppings show up all over the place, but there is only the one metropolis. Most other towns are fairly small, although the indigenous population that occupies the planet has quite a few large communities of their own. Mostly to the mountainous north, and a few in the large, expansive forest that makes up the most populated area of the planet. They blend in seamlessly with their surroundings, and, are much harder to find than you think.
  109.
  110. The city bleeds into the forest, on the outskirts. There are no walls, just buildings and roads fading into the forest. The roads in the city are paved, but, once you get about five miles from the limits, the roads turn to dirt, and, are just very worn. The two main roads leaving the city head to the east, to the ocean, and one to the south, to the Wastes. Otherwise, there are smaller, secondary roadways going in other various directions.
  111.
  112. The indigenous population are 100% pacifistic. They would not attack anyone, so, claiming such has happened, would be false.
  113.
  114. The feature predators have where they can turn off their luminescence is not applicable to wolves. This is more for ambush and lurking predators, such as reptiles and felines.
  115.
  116. There is a native population of animals called u'neia, which, are large, lumbering felines. They are herbivores, and, the native Narxi people occasionally raise them to eat. They are still a wild species though, and, can be found in the forests. They are comparable to cattle.
  117.
  118. The planet exists with one large, continuous continent, then, around the ocean, are smaller islands, although, they are not inhabited, save, the stray Narxi that wanted to truly be alone.
  119.
  120. (All I can think of for now. Will potentially add more later.)
  121.
  122.
  123. Well my fellow roleplayer, I hope you enjoy your stay, and if there are any questions, comments, concerns, criticism, just send me a PM or take it to the OOC. - genocideImminent
