This group is a monument to the lasting love of civilians felt by its members the world over. For those of you who missed the Team Fortress 2 update that removed civilians from the game, Valve made a destructive change, in spite of all its good, in the August 23rd, 2011 15th anniversary update: "Fixed supply closets regenerating players while they are taunting." This fix was designed, perhaps, to eliminate glitches such as the ability to perform infinite critical hits with the Diamondback. But at the same time, it eliminated a precious and beautiful thing (shown to the left): the civilian. Before this update, it was possible to be a civilian by ensuring that you didn't automatically respawn when you changed your loadout in a respawn room(in your Advanced Options), switching a loadout weapon for another one in the same slot, then taunting with the switched weapon into a supply closet. Now, this is not possible.

This reference-posed, weaponless oaf may not seem like much, but he was a symbol of peace and joy to Team Fortress 2 players everywhere, brightening up their days by virtue of its very nature as a floating, pacifistic version of a normally aggressive class. Even if he could be used as a tool for griefing, only the strictest of players would dismiss him as nothing but. Because for most of us, he was something we loved, and something we would love again if he were to come back. Team Fortress 2 is simply not the game it once was without the civilian.

The group's goal is simple: boycott Team Fortress 2 until such a time as Valve adds a way to become a civilian (AKA enter the reference pose) with all classes on most servers back into the game, either through the old method or a new way. We will vote with our time, and show our silent support for the civilian.

The group's rules are as follows:
1. Group members playing Team Fortress 2 (as shown on the member list) will be warned once first, and if seen again will be removed from the group. This is a boycott first and foremost.
2. Don't be overtly rude. This means no racism, sexism, or anything of that nature. We're not militant.
