- What Google product does your request relate to? Web Search
- What can we help you with?I have a legal issue that is not mentioned above
- I have found content that may violate my copyright
- .... explain the situation, provide links (source and copy)
- Surprising that they don't care about us little guys right? lol
- File a complaint via Google support site. File a complaint but I'm not certain as to how fast there response will be.
- That's frustrating. Maybe contact the site and let them know to take it down otherwise you'll.... a threat might just do it if Google doesn't take action fast enough. Was the article written by you so you're certain someone else didn't write it and sell it to both of you? Extremely wrong, but crazy stuff happens. If you wrote the article or are confident in the source, then this is your copyrighted material and they can get into a lot of trouble for doing this. Apart from being wrong, it's illegal (in some countries) to steal someone else's work and I'm sure they know that already. Good luck sorting this out.
- @Shu9Yoo has already mentioned the steps to do so.
- And I would suggest add some plugin on your website so that the content won't be copied. Use those common tools that protect your content from selection and copy.
- Such as "WP Content Copy Protection & No Right Click" I just found on google. This seems a small step but many users will stop copying your content because a copy cat won't like to write content.
- It's weird how copied content can outrank you. Normally it shouldn't even display on search positions.
- Are you sure it's 100% copied word by word from your site or it's rewritten?

- Not that weird, in fact I see this is fairly common

- So stupid. With their 20 years of existence, they can't make their AI to recognize who posted some content first. Amazing Google.

- Google never penalize for copied content. But when someone has issues with this Google ask them to use canonical tags. (https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/139066)
- Canonical tag informs Google about which one is the original content so that Google gives value to that content only. But when we face content theft where canonical tags can't be done.

- It's very unfair. I can imagine your frustration. Why don't you share the links to both sites to help you to report this situation? They have to check a massive report.
- Surprising that they don't care about us little guys right? lol
- They never did.
- I know several people that lost rankings on their websites due to these 'scrapers'.
- Are you really surprised though?
- There is no way a big bot like google can determine the ownership of the content - these are all available on a public domain, so they care nothing less than being someone promoting their advertisements on the sites. But then again, there is no logic that their search engine can use to say who is the true owner of the content - can be you, can be the person who posted those content. The only solid thing that works for them is authority - the higher authority, the better you rank.

- Yes, they don't care about, just we care ourselves.

- I dont know how the sites look but it can be true. Maybe the site has more trust and is more "appealing" to google. And as always the bigger you are the more blackhat things you can do ;)!
- Copy thing happens every time, instead of waiting for google to penalize their sites better we change our website content, which I usually prefer.
- Re: How fast they response? without any expecting. - Well as per support, they should respond "quickly" by removing it from the search results, but not to take the post down.
