- It is the 41st Millennium. For more than a hundred centuries The Empress has lain in pleasure on the Golden Bed of Earth. She is the mistress of Humanity by the will of the gods, and mistress of a million worlds by the might of her inexhaustible armies. She is a lustful whore, writhing in ecstasy with power from unknowable sensation. She is the absent Lady of the Imperium for whom a thousand men are sacrificed every day so that she might one day be sated.
- Yet even in her release less state, the Empress continues her eternal vigilance. Mighty battle fleets cross the daemon-infested miasma of the Warp, the only route between distant stars, their way lit by the Astronomican, the psychic manifestation of the Empresses’ lust. Vast armies give battle in her name on uncounted worlds. Greatest among her soldiers are the Adeptus Astartes, the Space Marines, bio-engineered transhumans. Their comrades in arms are legion: the Imperial Guard and countless planetary defence forces, the every vigilant Inquisition and the tech-priestess’ of the Adeptus Mechanica to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from aliens, heretics, mutants - and worse.
- To be a woman in such times is to be one amongst untold billions. It is to live in the cruelest and most depraved regime imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be re-learned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the lewd dark future there is only war. There is no peace or purity amongst the stars, only an eternity of mind breaking sex and depravity, and the laughter of thirsting gods.
